4:06 - Bass lesson begins. Yep. This is good... really good! Thank you brother. You get it ... that's for sure. I only wish the notes were more muted - rather than allowed to resonate...but that's just me. I think I'm more funk than you... but you are certainly close. Plugging in my bass this week...thanks! But - I can never get enough of JD Souther! Never...I'm west coast too. But soon to return to Philly, my home away from home.

😅 I thought that it was my phone ringing! I love that song, I've watched it a million times on UA-cam. I've always thought that the song could be about anyone of us, who is involved with a woman. Music of my life from the past has really been haunting me lately. I'm 58 now and I can still do things, but seizures are a thing now. I've been contacting old friends from my teen years and the early 1980's. Someone asked me what my favorite song was, and it's the Wichita Lineman.

Gosh! You've awakened some great memories I have! I've just realised that I must have seen you on that tour in 1981. I was 21 at the time and came from London to LA with my pedal bike and was cycling across your country back to NYC. At Reno I bought a Rolling Stone and on the page I opened I read that James Taylor would be playing in Indianapolis some weeks hence. I worked out that I should be able to get there in time if I set off in that direction via Salt Lake City - Denver - Kansas - Illinois. I arrived in Indianapolis 2 days before the concert, met some nice folks in a pizza restaurant who helped me get a ticket, and I stayed with them until the concert. I've stayed in touch with them till this day, and I attribute that to picking up Rolling Stone when I did. I also had a small radio attached to my handlebar, and there was a JT track often played on AM radio - 'Her Town Too'. Did you play on that? Great memories indeed!

Firstly Leland huge fan since I saw you play with James Taylor on tour in Melbourne Australia in 1986. You mentioned about the video where James and JD souter sing live on the video for her town too. Possibly my favourite song of all time and at some point when UA-cam started it was on there and I downloaded it for myself. Many years later I searched for it (for years actually) and it is gone. Luckily I found my copy and thought the world needs to see this and tried to upload it. Whoops!!! UA-cam shut it down for Copyright infringement and it always made me sad that the world could not appreciate James and JD singing so well. It looks sip-synced until several lines they change the arrangement and you can tell they are singing live. It is just that good. Just thought I would share as it is a cracking version of the song. Keep on fighting the good fight on UA-cam Leland, plenty of people love your clips and insights into the music. You are an absolute legend.

Tomorrow we are guests for Thanksgiving, family, but 8 of the people have had Covid multiple times, so it's hard to feel relaxed.,,,,,I just finished watching the video of Her Town, it's a classic and we know it was live, we hear JD add something ad lib, speaking to JT............and I then saw this, what a nice visit you made a couple of years ago, and I have to thank you, Lee. It was the comments about Don Grolnick. He is all over my record collection of course, but hearing you speak about his brilliance, beautiful to hear, but there is so much affection in your voice and words. It made me cry a bit, and realize how fortunate we've been to have you and your friends/colleagues working with a JT, a Jackson, a Suzy Bogguss, on and on and on. Enjoy a healthy/joyous holiday..........

🎼 Dearest Leland, Thank you for your kind words & mentioning Phil Collins & family! I've always been a fan of his , but until his injuries , have I really connected to him and his (ex) wife also!! I have the same exact issues & God almighty the pain is unbearable. God love him that he has his family! Mine are all gone and that's where you come in!
Thank you for the few minutes a day of shits & giggles to make me smile!!! Im also sorry to see you have to get upset when you try to post James Taylor. You spoke about friends that left us from cancer & YOU CAN CLOSE YOUR EYES was the last thing I said to my brother 25 yrs ago when he past. The songs lyrics has been my bittersweet spot for me!!
Ok, now that I've cheered you up.......!!!!!! Lol
God bless you, stay well & keep kicking ass!!!❤✌🐾🐾

My wife and I were at the Atlanta Civic Center when you performed this. One of our first dates and 2nd Row! Thanks for all your recent posts. I am enjoying listening and learning the licks while playing along on the bass.
