Good evening. New subscriber for sure. I’m a 49 year old guy who watched these guys live for the first time 7 years ago and instantly was in shock. I’ve seen them live now 5 times total, and hundreds of times on you tube lol. Duo is 2 fellas, drummer(Josh Dun) is incredible. The more u watch, the more you will see. Tyler Joseph(singer, plays piano, bass guitar, ukulele, and most importantly writes EVERY SONG). His lyrics as u mentioned are second to none. Word play is crazy, and he really paints a vivid picture of what’s going on in his head(which isn’t good) This song is from their first “label” album Vessel which mainly consists of songs about mental health, depression, anxiety and even suicide. Their sound is amazing and no 2 songs sound alike which is crazy. You will be like “this sounds so different from the last song, but sounds exactly like twenty one pilots”. Anyway, sit back, enjoy the ride, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Start with more songs from Vessel album, Ode to sleep, Migraine(hint: it’s not about a headache 😉) or Holding onto you I would recommend, and also Guns For Hands is a fan favorite. Great reaction and us fans don’t mind the 24 minute videos.. keep up the great work
Can't believe you live in Columbus and have never heard them! You have probably heard their music and just didn't realize it was them... You definitely have to go down their rabbit hole, their music has a big storyline behind it that all relates back to mental health...the colors all do mean something as you sort of picked up on and they change album to album his hair is back at the end to show that the issues he goes through is a cycle and when he takes off his mask he's still the same jittery guy from the beginning...the music/distraction during the show also distracts you and you forget he's really that same guy (cycles are a big theme in their music) They actually have a new single coming out next week that they're just starting to tease - i imagine they will tour this summer with their new music and i would def recommend seeing them here...they did 3 shows at Nationwide last tour (back to back to back, all sold out) - the best live show you'll ever see It's called Kemba Live now but would've been The LC back then...Worthington Christian is where Tyler (lead singer) went and you can see a kid in that shirt when he goes into the crowd
This is probably the first song I heard from them, and I love it. It makes me cry every time, though. They have some excellent concert performances, and they do include concert snippets, including audience interaction, in a few of their other music videos. You might check out "Ode to sleep" next, which gives a great overview of how they got their start, or "Lane Boy", which gives a wonderful feel for what their music/music philosophy is like.
The first time i saw this i just wanted to give him a hug and tell him it will be ok. These boys have so much talent and so much to say. They are very involved in mental health. Please keep on with them. Your reaction to this is similar to the reactions of others- there's a lot to unpack and it's hard to know where to start. Great job!
I really loved how long you spent on this reaction, I can tell you’re really absorbing and appreciating everything that’s happening in the song/video and that’s awesome to see!! Hope you do more Tøp 💛 Also, your voice is so calming to listen to! :)
by far the best band i’ve ever seen live. after going to dozens of concerts, music fests and seeing some great artists, these two guys put on a show that will change you forever. and tyler’s writing is on another level. they have new music coming out feb. 29th and this album will be the conclusion of a story that tyler has been telling over the last three albums. thanx for checking them out. |-/
I was introduced to this band through my daughter. Sitting in the car, I let my daughter play "her music." This is the song that "caught me" and sent me jumping down the rabbit hole of TOP. No two songs sound the same, though TOP has a sound -- the more you listen, the more you will understand. his video is great with the audience putting their car radio (Tyler) back on stage to perform! Yes, that is very cool -- there are no better fans than Twenty One Pilot fans. You are coming in at a very exciting time, as Tyler just released a video just before a new music release, and explains some of the lore. DO a little HW, and you will be rewarded with some of the best music, best band, best live performances ever!
I did not understand a lot about the band when my daughter wanted to listen to them o. The way to school. I looked up the pop professor to try to understand. I was from the age of how in the heck do you have a 2 person band? Since then, travelled to Phoenix in 2018 and Denver in 2021. Worth every cent to see them live. I am in my 60's and have seen a lot of concerts. TOP is definitely my favorite. Due to health issues in my family, doubt I will get to see them again, but I can dream can't I?
I'm right there with you at 60 now. I have every intention of going with my daughter to the next time they play near me. Hopefully, a new album will mean a new tour. I am sorry to hear of your family's health issues. In the last two years, I lost my father-in-law, my brother, my mom and most recently my uncle. I found myself struggling to get through the days. You know what helped me through the pain and depression? Twenty One Pilots!! Tyler's words are so spot on to the struggle, and the emotion in his voice can gut me. @@cindyjohnson-dawson4472
@@staciemoisa4884 Hope you get to go to one of the concerts! I had my daughter at 41. I have a son who is 5 years older than her and took him to a couple of concerts for the bands he liked. Great bonding time with them. I am so sorry for your losses.
Thank you so much. I have seen so many bands over the years, and I have seen some amazing concerts. I have never been to one like Twenty One Pilots. I can't wait. @@cindyjohnson-dawson4472
If you can catch a good quality version of them playing this at a festival. He usually finishes this one hundreds of feet above the stage hanging off of some scaffolding. xD
Wow Love to see someone discover TOP for the first time, they are amazing. I’m a 67 year old great grandmother and I was introduced to them by grandson years ago. I think I might even be a bigger fan than him at this point 😉 I think you will find that every song is an adventure. Their genre is hard to put in a box: pop, rap, reggae, alternative, rock!!
Car Radio is so uncomfortable to watch, yet so compelling. Like you said, real shit. Tyler's favorite word is Catharsis. Music has the power to save everyone -Twenty One Pilots
loved hearing your thoughts! thats so cool that you live in Columbus too and are familiar with some of the venues they played. You should definitely check out their song 'Ode to Sleep', it shows the early years of the band and some live performances. Their most 'famous' songs are Stressed Out, Ride which were on the radio constantly and Heathens, which was in the movie Suicide Squad.
I’ve watched A LOT of reactions to twenty on pilots, and I think you would do an amazing job and have an an amazing time reacting to them. I personally think they are incredible musicians, producers and lyricists. All of their songs have meaning and say something, their music videos are highly thought out, there is even a whole lore that spans many of their albums. It is an interesting time to start listening to them, new music is expected from them very soon, with the next album probably closing out the lore. Migraine would be my next pick for you to react to. They have so much depth you can listen to them following certain themes/timelines/lore/styles, so much to choose from. Subscribed for more of course.
It's wild to me someone could be so close to T0P this entire time (choose in time, in place, and in the scene) and yet miss them. No judgement, it's just statistically amazing. Welcome to the clique, and get to a concert. They're incredible.
Hey my friend. Excellent reaction to an awesome yet truly heavy song. That songwriter seems to have been through it... thankfully his songwriting seems to be a healthy outlet... love and light to all who suffer
Tyler (front man) said... "you don't know Twenty Øne piløts... but you know stressed out" (biggest song on radio back in the day). Since you went down the rabbit hole of yourube, I highly recommend you extend that rabbit hole and go through TØP, especially with a new single next Thursday :)
i love top, can't wait for more reactions, loved this one! if you ever want something new to react to, i recommend paramore and panic! at the disco if you haven't gotten into them!
if you go to the twenty one pilot youtube page, search their videos "oldest", and they have 4 at the Newport and some more from the LC. Live concert recordings which are awesome. Go BUCKS!
Twenty one pilots reactions tend to get blocked. If you keep doing 20+ minute reactors you'll have plenty of original content. And we like to hear all you're thoughts. Keep bringing it.
Firstly thank you so much for taking my request, I'm super grateful. But I've kinda been agonizing about it because although it's a great reaction with some unique views about some of the locations, it doesn't seem like it's pulling the numbers I honestly thought it would, so I'm really sorry for any misleading I did. The clique are usually super supportive of people getting introduced for the first time, so I'm sending out the word, the CLIQUE and FPE mobilize, SHARE THIS VIDEO, show your TOP love in the form of view and likes, she deserves it. So I'm not gonna make another request, but I will say another video, Ode to Sleep, could be interesting to you. I won't ruin it for you but I'd be curious to know how many places you recognize in that video. Even just watching it on your own time I think you'd find it interesting. One more point, 21 pilots are known for their mental live concerts, from the videos I'm seen they are just on another level and I have to wonder how much of that comes from where they came up from. I wonder if they learned how to cultivate that energy and direct it in to the crowd from the environment they were raised in. It's not something I've thought of before, but it has to have any effect on a band, right Keep doing what you're doing, even with the occasional bum request you're doing great. Love.
You are so welcome, I am glad that I did! And NO reason to apologize! YT algo does some weird things that aren’t always explainable, I know the is a huge following..and regardless, I love what I hear and look forward to hearing more AND reacting to more
This song is a perfect metaphor for anyone battling with their own mind. I’ve been sitting in silence for most of my life

Right on! Loved your reaction, looking forward to more!
PS… they’re about to drop new music too, so great timing! 😁
Since you know the local spots do Ode to Sleep.
It's early in their career and filmed locally.

his hair is back at the end to show that the issues he goes through is a cycle and when he takes off his mask he's still the same jittery guy from the beginning...the music/distraction during the show also distracts you and you forget he's really that same guy (cycles are a big theme in their music)
They actually have a new single coming out next week that they're just starting to tease - i imagine they will tour this summer with their new music and i would def recommend seeing them here...they did 3 shows at Nationwide last tour (back to back to back, all sold out) - the best live show you'll ever see
