    ABOUT:
    Rebecca is a passionate Singer-Songwriter/Vocal coach/mentor /impressionist/photographer/creative junkie /self- development lover not a hater.
“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.

Rebecca, I am an old lady (51) by some people's standards (lol -- ie, most fans of this music and 21 Pilots' contemporaries), but I have always passionately LOVED music. First off you seem like so sweet and you're very knowledgable!
And yes- Addict with a Pen is an extremely emotional song. Tyler has broke down singing it live before even.
He wrote House of Gold for his mom 😊
As far as the masks go- they use them a lot. I'm almost positive Tyler decided to do them because he wants the person listening to disconnect themselves from him as a person and instead focus on the music. Also they both deal with anxiety a lot and the idea of wearing the masks to feel more comfortable on stage was explored in their music video for guns for hands!
Plus- Tyler has more recently taught himself Bass. It's on the new album a lot.

It also stemmed from when they were first performing at restaurants and bars and stuff like that, and their goal was to get the staff to look up from what they were doing to watch them. Places that have live music often has the staff not rly paying attention bc they were used to it, so thy out on masks and wore costumes to get their attention.

I noticed you were unsure of the meaning of Addict With A Pen, and since I love that song so much and feel like everyone should know the meaning, I thought I would share! From what I’ve learned of it, the song is about Tyler and his relationship with God. He mentions how he hasn’t been the best of sons and how he can’t find a drop of water/of “you”, I think the song was him opening up about struggling to maintain faith. It’s truly beautiful, whether you’re religious or not he’s able to make you feel so much of his pain and journey with this song. It’s truly incredible.

Josh Dun is the drummer btw, Tylers voice is unique. Every album sort of has something that represents it, Vessel is the mask Blurry face the red beanie, Trench is yellow band/Vulture/ and Dema. the mask makes them one of us in a sense, they try to create something that's faceless, that can represent a group of people or have people relate to it - Also new to your channel so hi!

Addict With a Pen (the one you said hit you emotionally) is a *great* song. The song title is about his songwriting process and the song is, amongst the other layers, mostly about his faith. I really suggest you check it out.
His newer "writing process" song is called "Pet Cheetah". His newer song about faith is called "Leave the City." Both are on the Trench album.

He was actually asked this question in an interview. He said he shakes around a bunch because the first time he ever performed on stage he just sat there and played his music and after he was done he didn't feel right. He wasn't happy with how it went even though he got positive feedback. So the next time he performed he let the music flow through his body like he does naturally at home. For a while people thought something was wrong with him because of this but he is just feeling everything in the music with his entire being.

K V i don't know if it is because of that, but i also do that with my head/body when i feel bad. but it's just because i need to let... something flow. it's strange, but it made me so happy to see that someone like him also does things like that. i feel less weird lmao

The song that you got emotional at was about him and his relationship with God. He uses water as a symbol for hope and faith. That's why he got so emotional with the "water" because "I haven't found a drop of water". Later in the song he makes it obviously that it's about God because he says "But you specialize in dying, you hear me screaming 'father'
And I'm lying here just crying, so wash me with your water"

I just had to say that this was a beautiful reaction. I loved hearing someone who actually understands singing break down his voice and explain why so many people can feel so moved by it. You getting chills and having to sing along to songs you didn't even know was just such an incredible thing to see. I've been following Tyler's career since around the time Josh joined the band, and while I love them and their music, seeing them live whenever I can, I think I sometimes lose the wonderment that first hearing them can evoke, and it was really enjoyable seeing you experience that, and it was almost as if I were hearing them for the first time again myself. And, since you mentioned your love for lyricism, if you are at all interested in listening to more of TOP for more than just a reaction, I would highly suggest reading the lyrics as you listen to the songs. None of their songs (except MAYBE Taco Bell Saga) are casual or without meaning, and half the fun I think is determining what the lyrics can mean personally. They are Christians, but whether or not you are, I do think their interpretation of faith is a really beautiful thing, as is how Tyler writes about his anxiety and his depression, and his family, and even his career. Thank you so much for reacting to them, and for being so genuine about it. Your video was a pleasure to watch.

I felt the exact same. I have always had such an emotion reaction to their music... and it truly was like experiencing it again for the first time. Seeing the joy that it brought to her was just incredible. I was moved to tears several times, and also caught myself yelling at the screen to un-pause because I knew how much she would love each subsequent song and wanted to see/feel each new reaction! Hah! This is just perfect.
