I did meet Rachael Lillis over a decade ago. She said something very kind to me back then. Strange, I was just talking about that interaction I had with her to a coworker of mine this very day.

I remember seeing news about her having cancer months ago. Think I remember her sister raising money for her, so I really had my hopes up for her recovery. This is really sad news 😢😢😢

@@johtojonnywhat is heartbreaking is Rachel announced her breast cancer diagnosis on May of this year and passed away on August 10th.
She is the most fantastical yet legendary voice actress who brought the tv show called Pokemon to life and plus she is also the voice of Natalie from Ape Escape 2 and we will going to miss her so very much because she is the greatest voice actress of all time. R.I.P Legend you will be forever missed and may your soul be rest in peace.

Maybe it's the hangover but seeing this news in the morning really bummed me out. I'll be watching some classic episodes today, specifically when Misty goes back to her gym for the first time and when Jesse has a flashback about eating snow with her mom.

I'm nostalgic for that DP episode when Jessie lets her Dustox go. That one was stellar.

Misty and Jessie are my favorite characters from the anime. While I have only heard her voice through clips because I watched the anime through the German dub, it's still unbelievably tragic to lose a good soul through cancer. May she rest in peace ❤

Seeing this now,I am in sorrow.I am now watching indigo league for the first time because i was never really bothered to and now i have to go through it knowing that the voice actor for misty and jessie is dead and they are both very common characters in the series
Like many people i didn't know who voiced misty or jessie im surprised they both had the same voice actor but that just showed how amazing these people are with good writing these people can bring cthese characters to life we see their highs and lows their past their futures when their happy you can't stop them or when their sad you want to same how reach thew the tv just to hug the and today we lost another legend today that i wished i knew more about os thank you Rachael Lilith for your Voice and bringing misty and jessie to life you will be remembered by all who grew up with your characters.

This is very sad and was preventable. Rachel was murdered by our libertarian healthcare system. Obviously a fully nationalized healthcare system like in the UK or Cuba would be best, but even a center-right system with well-regulated private insurance, like in Germany or Australia, would have easily saved her life.
I'm not gonna say that I followed her career or even knew her name before today. Hell, I didn't even know Misty and Jesse were voiced by the same person until just now (a testament to her talent, really), but her voices, as part of Pokemon and therefore a huge part of my childhood, are engraved into my mind to this day, as clear as if I heard them a minute ago

It'a been a couple days and i'm still in shock. I was almost at the end of the 4Kids run of episodes so i've almost ran out of episodes with Rachel voicing Jessie. And now i'm not sure i want to continue causs my god its gunna be bittersweet.
(I missed allot of episodes growing up. So the final 4Kids episodes are all new to me.)
I hope she knew how much we all loved and appreciated the part she played in our lives, even if just through the work she left us.
Hearing the part about healthcare in the US makes me appreciate the NHS that much more. It may not be in the best condition right now, but i'm glad we don't have to deal with health insurance and crap like that. It's juat vile, and i really hope the US can get something similar to the UK soon, nobody deserves to go into debt just to receive health treatment.
Rachel was such an early supporter of lgbtq plus rights and she was best friends with Maddie Bluastein who was the voice actress for Meowth.

She was quite the awesome actress and I think she also voiced Ursula from Dinosaur King and I had noticed she really sounded like Jessie when I heard her voice. I give my condolences to Rachel’s family, she was a great VA and I’m sure a wonderful woman, daughter and friend

Huh. You're right. Every article covering this says she was 46 but a quick google search shows she was 55. Odd, but nonetheless she was still very young and this is still very much a tragedy 😥

I am late but when I saw a picture of Togepi in a puddle of tears holding a Cascade Badge with Misty and Togepi in the reflection, I knew that was a sign that something happened....funny enough I started liking red heads when I was younger because of Misty's strength as a character and the fire that brought Jessie to life will be greatly missed.
When Jessie won the Pokemon Contest on her own, I know Jessie is a fictional character, but a part of my would have wanted me to be isakai-ed at that moment to congratulate her on her victory personally without cheap tricks or cheating and called for a victory feast in celebration.

Misty and Jessie where a huge part of the Pokemon anime. I say the healthcare system/industry needs to be reformed. Even with the best possible health insurance the common people are turned away and gas lit to such a high degree. I will hold the memories of Rachel Lilith and her work in my heart. Everything needs to change. Vote with your dollars and in the elections that come up through the years.

So not shade to Rachael, she's great, but Misty was a total brat. She was mean, and rude, and she was terrible to Psyduck. Read the Pokédex Misty, he ALWAYS has a Headache. Punching it in the head doesn't make it better. RIP Rachael.
Try to understand why Misty was the way she was in the beginning. She was the youngest of 3 older, obnoxious sisters who would constantly put her down by belittling her battle skills and even berating her physical appearance. Misty is 10 years old, still a kid and she clearly developed an inferiority complex from her environment. She became loud because she more than likely was being talked over by her sisters. As for PSyduck, she probably felt that Psyduck's issue was getting in the way of her own goal of trying to be an ace water Pokemon trainer and we've seen other Psyducks in the show that were no where near as dim as the one she had. All I'm saying is that Misty's character didn't come out of thin air and when you read between the lines, it makes sense why she was the way was.

I feel it is sad that you have to use the voice actress's death in order to platform your politics.
People's lives are not politics. It's human rights. If I can speak up to prevent this sort of thing from happening more, I'll do it every step of the way because I care about the people around me

Rachael Lillis was an amazing voice actress! She will be dearly missed! It's a shame that she passed away far too soon. Her fight with cancer was indeed a noble one, no doubt about that. It's a shame she lost her fight. But she will come back stronger in her next life. Hopefully she has no regrets. Her only regret probably being that she couldn't get better Insurance and better healthcare. Hopefully she will find comfort and strength in heaven to carry on, whilst we mere mortals do the same here on earth.
