Thanks for the video. I always avoided stag horns because I don't have the wall space to hang a wall mounted plant without putting a grow light on it. Bit yours seems to do great In pots.
Really informative video. Wouldn't the plant eventually require being mounted onto a wood base though? I'd love to have one but I think growing it in a pot like yours or a wire hanging pot seems easier to maintain. Thanks for the video!
I have tried growing Stage Horns for years with no success. I never knew I could plant them in soil. I gave them banana for potisum but that didn't work. Thanks for the video I'll try growing them again. Did you know they are originally from Africa?
How do you like your staghorn in the orchid pot a year later? I loved your video and repotted one into a pot just like yours, found your input on what mediums to use helpful. But I am a bit concerned about whether it will be a problem over time with babies shooting out the sides or something.
Hi I’ve just been given one that had been mistakenly cleaned of all its fuzzy hairs!…it looks like your big one and is in soil and in a plastic pot,I would much appreciate any advice you have ,I too do not want to mount it maybe put it in moss and bark in terracotta?..do you think it will recover from having its fuzz removed…thankyou!
Water fully then allow to fully dry between waterings, if it's hot and dry in the air it might need more but if it's cold or moist it'll need less. So in a steamy bathroom it would need less but in a dry living room or climate it would need more - it'll tell you when it needs it because you can feel it to see if it's dry (misting the leaves in a dry room or climate is nice too)
Spagnum moss is NOT SUSTAINABLE ANYMORE. The marshes are having homes built on them so they are shrinking. Use spagnum free potting soil and spagnum alternatives. Once the marshes are gone they are gone. Conserve!
Great video, it's so hard to find videos of people keeping their staghorn ferns in pots instead of mounting them.
Finally got some one to talk about pots
One of my neighbors threw one in the trash!I rescued it
Your plants are the best I've seen, repotting mine in a pot with moss, thanks so much!!! 🤗💚🌱 new sub!!!😉💚🌱

Yes they do grow fine in the pots, it's just that moubted ones have a more natural and tidy look
It would be nice of you to respond to your viewers questions.
Would love to see an update on the one in the orchid pot!

I put a saucer in bottom with pretty rocks and check the moisture Anita doing great if dust gets on leaves I give it a shower 😊😊😊😊😊
Ty very much for this video! I think the same for watering it if it's mounted.
Staghorn Fern is my favourite plant , support with you and see you around .

Ferns reproduce via spores, which will be located on the back of their fronds. They don't grow pups.

What a great idea, I put mine on wood and it is mad! I’m going to put it back in a pot🤦♀️
Yeah, I put mine in a Vanda square hanger for Orchids, not as happy as it could be, putting in a pot with moss also!!! 🌱😉💚🤗
I like the orchid pot. Considering a stag horn fern but don’t want to mount it. This is doable. Thanx. 🪴
You only plant staghorn in sphagnum moss?
I loved do you have subtitles in Spanish 🙌🏼🤗👍 thanks a lot!!
Love the staghorn!
I just got a staghorn fern and it has a green shield. What is the proper way to water them.

Wondering about the "elephant" noises in the background...
Are you in a zoo because I keep hearing an elephant 🐘 in the background!?😂😆
Sounds more like a garbage trunk stopping to pick up trash...
It did sound like an elephant. 😂
Sphagnum moss is not sustainable, so I’ll be using coconut coir.
It’s pronounced “ sfagnum”, not “spagnum”!
