I've seen how foreign kids living in Singapore with their parents behave. They put their shoes on subway train seats as acts of defiance, and when told not to do it, they brand Singapore authorities as "authoritarian". Mostly Americans and Aussies feeling very entitled. 😂😂😂

It's time they learn they're no longer the supreme race. Or find out what happened to Michael Fay.

Good interview! True China has very few foreigners so the system is not built with English or foreigner in mind. Hope that, as China opens more, it will adapt. Wish the Zhar family a happy life in China and successful business!

Thanks ! You're right, it is not especially designed for foreigners but as we are in limited numbers, they do make an effort to make things work. Of course it is not perfect, but most of the time things work out.

Before you actually learn a certain foreign language, I recommend Immersive translate. It works as both a translator and a revision tool. It has really worked for me

Such an interesting couple with such an interesting mix of cultures. I would love to try Morocco or Russian dishes too, but the food looked delicious like Japanese cafe. When I was a child, Morocco was one of my favorite places in Disney World.
Their child is beautiful, I hope she grows up to love many cultures - too often we teach people to hate, even the government now encourages it, but here we see a lot of love. I am curious how each of them came to live in China. ✌🏿

It is true that learning another culture does change quite a lot of things. It gives another perspective on things. As many people in China, they came either to study or to try and finally liked it and stay. After a year of working in China, you would know if China is for you or not. (studying is different as students are quite protected even in the university).

Yeah, I wish to take another approach. I'm really not here to say it's perfect, just show how it is (in Hainan). And it is far from the apocalyptic description foreign medias usually talk about...

They did 2 years in Morocco, it seems that it was pretty cool. But living in China is something else. haha. Especially in the south.

They like to live in China because they enjoy being treated well by the Chinese people, but they wouldn't experience the same if they are in the west, they would be treated as third class. Many foreigners living in China are there for the same reason, but they don't care for the Chinese people, Chinese language or Chinese culture though. They enjoy China's affordable cost of living, safety, and being treated as VIPs being foreigners.

@@Anonymous------ I can clearly see that, and they have the nerve to complain about legal requirements for setting up a business even though the local government helps them set it up as policy of china. It’s a weird thing to watch, I can tell they don’t have many local friends and don’t try to assimilate with the Chinese culture.
