Dan Panov Classes are not in Gagauz there, advertising is also in Russian. The state authorized them to have a somewhat level of independence and preserve their language (gagauz) for a reason. Eastern Latino is the best term I’ve ever heard someone use to describe Moldova 😂 You got everything right, except for one little thing, the population. People are leaving the country at very fast rates. It’s highly unlikely there are 3 million people left, since official numbers are altered and outdated. Thank you for not saying we speak Moldovan. Thank you!!!
My sister left 15 years ago, yet she still counts as a resident. Same for me and my wife. It's very hard, and there's a lot of bureaucracy to unregister yourself as a resident. Numbers, thus, are extremely inflated. The capital has around 800k people, but the rest of the country's population is at least halved since 1990, completely empty villages beginning to be common. The elderly die, the young prefer the capital or just out of the country. Such a small country, with a small population, but I hear moldovans e verywhere I go. Most of them in Italy (can't spend a day without meeting one). Half of my school mates left. France, Germany, USA, Canada, Russia, Dubai, Romania.

I'm British but live in Eastern Europe now and speak Romanian, and had an excellent time in Moldova late last year during Winter. People are hardworking and good at heart as they have had many struggles and many still struggle to make a living, I had a lot of good conversations and everyone always helped openly. I would encourage people to visit but be open minded and don't try and compare it to what you are used to, just go and take it for what it is and show a bit of respect while there as things are tough, meaning don't haggle over a few lei, as its absolute peanuts for a foreigner and don't go on about how cheap it is; cheap for a visitor maybe but not for the majority of Moldovans. If you visit Transnistria and exit through Moldova again and not Ukraine, then be prepared to answer a few questions from the border police as to why you were there. I hope too one day Romania and Moldova unite, unfortunately it seems that polls in Romania, show Romanians overwhelmingly support it, yet consistently, polls in Moldova show the opposite, that most people want to stay as an independent Moldova.
@Hungary #1 I think its fair to say that whole area going back to the days before and then during the Roman Empire has experienced many many geographical changes, with land being taken, handed back, formed, re-formed etc. So bit unfair to say Romanians are deceitful and treacherous and less hardworking, when they are the same people, formerly part of Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania and given Moldavia and Wallachia did form 'Romania', despite the annexation of Bessarabia by the Soviet Union. So Wallachians and Moldovians were Romania, until the Republic of Moldova declared independence. The east and north east of Romania still is Moldovia. So bit harsh your comments given the history of the region and how often it has changed hands etc, but ultimately modern Moldova and those peoples comprising modern Romania share the same language and the same religion and same traditions.
@Hungary #1 I'm european as well and I live in Romania...so we effectively live in the same place given Transylvania is part of greater Romania... But funny all my good friends here and my family here must be all lazy traitors as you put it..bit sad given I live here so it's first hand for me too and all my friends and family are very decent and hardworking. I can't stand stereotyping like you have done as for me both sides of the border have good people trying to make ends meet. I think people need to be careful talking about treachery etc in this part of the world given so many countries and rulers have at times sold, bought and swapped allegiances...Austro-Hungarian empire.. Ottoman Empire.. France.. better to be progressive and look to the future
@@Bobskiboy85 The thing is, itțs not even going as far back as Dacia that we can say Transylvania was a romanian teritory. Wallachia and Moldavia fought succesfully for independence against the hungarians, however, the Transylvanians did not, and the romanians there just became a opressed majority.

There is a law in Romania that allows them to 're-gain' Romanian citizenship if they can prove they have ancestors born in Greater Romania. Dan Panov Classes are not in Gagauz there, advertising is also in Russian. The state authorized them to have a somewhat level of independence and preserve their language (gagauz) for a reason. If most people are not speaking that language, but mostly Russian, then the status quo needs to be changed, their local government dismantled and have them conform to State laws. Otherwise it’s just nonsense.

You say Moldova is bad at PR, but they arguably have the strongest and most distinct “brand” in the entire Eurovision Song Contest. From their very first appearance in 2005, Moldova have almost never shied away from some craziness, inc. the grandma drummer, Epic Sax Guy (obv), the gnomes, the woman whose dress becomes a volcano, the Vaudevillian wall of body parts... Europe not only loves it, but expects it, and Moldova still seems happy to deliver
Their 2018 entry was the best
What does 'PR' mean? I've seen it so many times and was never able to get it
Moldova always brings the party to Eurovision. It'd be interesting to see what happens if they win (they say they can handle it, but I dunno...).

You got everything right, except for one little thing, the population.
France.. better to be progressive and look to the future

true xDDD
I am Romanian, btw :)))))

Me being Moldavian, you pretty much nailed everything. Great work lad.
You do *NOT* pronounce the "t" in "Borscht". Like, EVER.
Because the pronunciation is:
Borsh
And how do moldovians write it is: borș
BorschT
Borshch. As a ukrainian I know it better:))
@@miguellucio3854 That's Ukrainian. Romanians and Moldovans alike call it just how an English speaker would read "borsh".

I am romanian but moldova is our brother😉😉

Actually that animal like a cow on their flag is extinct from hundreds of yours ago. It is called Bour. Very big cow.
Cheers from Romania :)
He's still right. He referes to the same animal, just didn't use the romanian name for it. The Aurochs is what romanians call a Bour.
a.k.a European bison. a.k.a Zimbru. I guess there are +6 of them in Moldova
The aurochs is extinct.
Zimbru is not the same as Bour. They are different species. Related, but different
We also call it zimbru to not confuse anyone but it's not correct
That "T" with a comma underneath is pronounced "ts" or "tz" and the "S" with a comma underneath is pronounced "sh". Get it right, for the Romania episode. :)
Can we at least appreciate that he even did a geography epsiode about Moldova? Most people don't even know where that is, let alone their language's pronunciation rules.
I love the Romanian language
and the A with the little curved hat is "uh" so Chisinau is "chi-shi-nou"
Or more specifically, like the double Zs is Pizza
Barb is a bit inconsistent when it comes to language pronounciations.
Sometimes for some languages he goes deep with it, but sometimes he's like meh not gonna try this one.
Our brothers, blood 🇷🇴❤🇲🇩
thats chad flag i think. blue is dark
Chad flag
It's fixed :) thxs
@@huntingspirits when romania adopted this flag, chad didn't even exist
No
The Romanians and the Moldovans are THE SAME. The same language, the same folklore, the same hora, the same sarmale the same mamaliga, the same miorita, the same martisor, the same national costume.
At 8:55 I'm pretty sure the Romanian people where Orthodox long before Russia was...
It's almost like there's a Romanian Orthodox Church...
Saint Andrew even stayed in Romania and converted the Romanians to Orthodox Christianity .
Ah, look, another smart guy
În teorie Ortodoxismul vine din Imperiul Bizantin, nu din Rusia. Nu înțeleg de ce lumea il asociază cu Rusia.
