@@paulinah9182 sorry but she can't please everyone all the time and as much as I like her videos, as another bengali person this is something I've found super disappointing and irritating about her it's almost like she's embarrassed of her background when she shouldn't be as south asia has such rich and beautiful culture It's okay if somebody maybe wasn't culturally brought up in life but she clearly was as she's talked about being asian maybe a couple of times and how the food is like comfort food to her as she's grown up with it. but in this video she acts so confused as if she's never eaten this kind of stuff before, I don't know who she's trying to kid 🙄. she literally made a video a few years ago that she's now made private called something along the lines of 'I grew up wanting to be white' so she clearly is ashamed of being bengali which is not okay in my opinion and it's upsetting to witness no one said she has to make videos ONLY talking about her background but it'd be nice if she wasn't so obviously trying to hide it, like in this video for example she could've casually compared the food to the types of food she's used to as we share similar flavours with indians but no she chose to act dumb
@@mercury6316 @mercury don't get me wrong, i understand that it's irritating, especially if you share the same background. i also found it a bit weird. nobody should be ashamed for their heritage, definitely. sadly, many people still are. racism and "casual" prejudice are still very common; many kids still get bullied for their families' culture. i personally understand how that makes people afraid of embracing their cultural background. that doesn't mean that they should feel this this way, not at all. but i understand why this is an insecurity for many people. i personally would love to learn more about bangladeshi culture and i think it would be great if Taz would talk more about it on her channel. In the end, we don't know much about her upbringing though and it's her decision whether she wants to embrace her background or not.

Okay got some tip for you Taz At 13:40 the cone shape for samosa is made by cutting the rolled circular patty dough into 2 halves. Join the corners of semicircle dough along the edges overlapping one on another with help of water(for sticking the edges) you will get the cone shape. At 18:04 the small laddle is used in common Indian households in oil/ clarified butter pots for making paranthas ( flat plain/ stuffed indian breads cooked with help of clarified butter or ghee in india) India is actually full of variety of flavours. The food you ate was actually north Indian dishes. There is a lot more to India. Hope this fills the tiniest bit of void on information part🙂 Love and all the cheers from India. It's actually not that easy to cook indian food but you kinda nailed it as a beginner😉❤️
Being an Indian 🇮🇳, I didn't even know that 80% are vegetarians. I have like only 1 friend who is vegetarian. And even I like non-vegetarian Indian dishes more.😅
That little spoon is used to scoop out ghee at my home. About the cardamom, it apparently has to be put like that but I get you, I don't like to bite into it either so we just use cardamom powder so that flavour spreads out. Just peel the skin and crush cardamon with rolling pin. Don't throw away the peel, use it when you make tea. Great video, keep growing👍

It's like 30 percent of indians are vegetarians not quite close to 80 percent, but that's still over 350 million people.
Our population is 1.3 billion....

Yeah. True. But we do have more vegetarian recipes than non vegetarian. And non vegetarian people too don't have meat for every single meal. Just a thought.
@@khushiarora6061 I know. 30 percent of 1.3 billion is about 350 million which is the vegetarian population.

Take all the credit u want
(Every was an exaggeration)

Spice mixes are KEY to being a mom from any spicy place 😂😂
FrostBite _ 😂 she’s just to kind and down to earth

- Fesenjan (I love this)
- Ghaime
- Falafel wrap (with tzatziki sauce or some other white sauce that is provided by the restaurant)
- Kubideh or barg kebab

Not

It’s actually true.
Ya I think the same. Cause I have literally no friend who is pure vegetarian.
In south India 80% are Non Vegetarians
No taz, not 80%. Only 25- 35% indians are vegetarians. Though that's still a lot of indians considering the population.
It varies massively across India too. Some places it's over 70%, some around 5-6%.
Because of course countries, especially large ones like India, have a lot of regional variation.

Hey how did you know she's Bangladeshi?
she tries so hard to hide her roots it's really annoying when she acts like she's purely british/welsh
@@mercury6316 I mean, please don't judge. There are people who just don't feel as attached their family's roots and that's just as okay as embracing it.
@@paulinah9182 sorry but she can't please everyone all the time and as much as I like her videos, as another bengali person this is something I've found super disappointing and irritating about her it's almost like she's embarrassed of her background when she shouldn't be as south asia has such rich and beautiful culture
It's okay if somebody maybe wasn't culturally brought up in life but she clearly was as she's talked about being asian maybe a couple of times and how the food is like comfort food to her as she's grown up with it. but in this video she acts so confused as if she's never eaten this kind of stuff before, I don't know who she's trying to kid 🙄. she literally made a video a few years ago that she's now made private called something along the lines of 'I grew up wanting to be white' so she clearly is ashamed of being bengali which is not okay in my opinion and it's upsetting to witness
no one said she has to make videos ONLY talking about her background but it'd be nice if she wasn't so obviously trying to hide it, like in this video for example she could've casually compared the food to the types of food she's used to as we share similar flavours with indians but no she chose to act dumb
@@mercury6316 @mercury
don't get me wrong, i understand that it's irritating, especially if you share the same background.
i also found it a bit weird.
nobody should be ashamed for their heritage, definitely.
sadly, many people still are. racism and "casual" prejudice are still very common; many kids still get bullied for their families' culture.
i personally understand how that makes people afraid of embracing their cultural background.
that doesn't mean that they should feel this this way, not at all. but i understand why this is an insecurity for many people.
i personally would love to learn more about bangladeshi culture and i think it would be great if Taz would talk more about it on her channel.
In the end, we don't know much about her upbringing though and it's her decision whether she wants to embrace her background or not.
I just realized that indian and pakistani food is quite similar

Okay got some tip for you Taz
At 13:40 the cone shape for samosa is made by cutting the rolled circular patty dough into 2 halves. Join the corners of semicircle dough along the edges overlapping one on another with help of water(for sticking the edges) you will get the cone shape.
At 18:04 the small laddle is used in common Indian households in oil/ clarified butter pots for making paranthas ( flat plain/ stuffed indian breads cooked with help of clarified butter or ghee in india)
India is actually full of variety of flavours. The food you ate was actually north Indian dishes. There is a lot more to India.

Taz: cardamom ruins the taste I don't like it
My indian mom: putting cardamom even in tea XD!
