Now we get stuck in an endless loop of the "making of story mode episode X" episodes until we reach the end then get into "the making of the making of story mode episode X" and so on until the end of time.
I am so scared he is going to end this series with a reveal that he sold it all and is done. I so hope this ends with a big reveal that he is back in action and the arcade has been reatored.
I never would have thought Joel was so stressed all the time considering he has all these arcades he could play to relax at any time. Great video as always!
Joel’s life is summed up by one line “I have to get it” With family and friends saying “Yeah”. There is a satisfaction itch that’s always just out of reach!
Thanks for the great video Joel. I think 2017 is around the time I started watching your channel, it must have been, because that was when you made your World's Largest Game Room Tour video. It's nice to see all of the earlier stuff I missed out on, the creation of the Vlog Files and Story Mode was interesting, and I enjoyed hearing about your collection. I can remember playing Forza Horizon 3 for the first time as well, an excellent driving game, one of the most enjoyable examples I've played in a long time. Looking forward to the next video, all the best. Sam
Building a game room is an on going thing, it never really ends. Love your work. Have fun, enjoy your games, enjoy family, and don't be afraid to let loose.
Joel, I agree with you about the Simulator video- that one was one of my favorites and I just loved the editing and how it all came together. The fact that so many people left negative comments about that video as well as the Neo Geo pickup is absolutely disgusting. Probably just some very jealous people out there, but even then, it does not excuse their toxic behavior. I wish people could just enjoy the videos you work so hard to provide, and not worry about how you funded these projects- especially as they jump to conclusions that are so far from the truth. I hope those negative people don't put you off from continuing to make unique and interesting content. Cheers, mate.
Well done last gamer. It's ashame people need to hear "havent just reached into your back pocket". Last Gamer has been a trader for years and this is a labour of love! You can't be just buying your way to the Guiness World Record breaking Games Museum ✌🏾🏴
How is it you have youtubers like MKBHD or unboxing guy with amazing wealth and yet no one begrudges their money? I don’t begrudge you as I love the fact that you are keeping an important part of history safe for future generations. I don’t care if you’re secretly a millionaire. Good luck to you.
Made a similar comment before I saw this. The interviews with family and friends are a bit much, anyone would think it was a biography of the guy that cured cancer.
The videos are obviously about his life and video game collection, it's apart of his identity. Maybe you've mistaken passion for indulgence. Joel seems like he is one of the few humans who have followed their bliss.
Hi Joel great video also just wanted to throw out that 11 years ago today Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was released for PS3 and X Box 360 one of my absolute favorite Call of Duty games.
Parallels again. I started gaming in 4K with a GTX 1080 FE in 2017. However i've been part of the PCMR since my first CS class in 1991. Before Pedro coined the phrase. Considering you come from an Amiga background, i'm kinda shocked you didn't keep up with PC.
You should probably get Starlink’s internet service once it become available in the next year or so. Designed for cases like your’s where you are too remote for a decent internet service.
Ha, loved the addition of the "Electric Dreams" song in the background around the 20 min mark. Loved that movie when I was young. Bravo on that obscure gem, Joel :)
i commented on this before and i have to say that you should not care about the comments it is not your problem that people think you have a lot of money, it is your money and you earned it. thank you for the great vlogs.
What does it matter whether you are rich or not? The point is you love arcade/video/pc games, if it wasn't for people like yourself Joel these games would disappear and surely THAT would be a disaster, keep doing what you do Joel 🙂
I never forget, the ringer from the opening is my ringtone and for a while I had his msg as my vmail msg, but it confused too many people....but it was great, I'll do it again sometime
I apologize for all those who have left negative comments. it is no one's business how you acquire things. I'm just astounded at the energy/effort you have put into your activities. In my 65 years, I have never set an alarm clock for 4:00 am. You are so fortunate to not only have one great woman in your life (Mandy) but two! Okay, I'm jealous about that... lol
There's a thousand other UA-camrs who can make videos of themselves playing the latest Modern Call of Warfare 8. But this? This is the sort of content that is truly unique and entertaining: the trials and tribulations surrounding the life of a mega-gamer. So few people on this planet will ever amass a collection this large-learning the details is truly fascinating.
Joel. Thank you for your time and effort. I know people are jealous. You are such a good guy and your videos are fun to watch. Don't stop we are all here cause we love it!
Hey Joel. This was a particularly entertaining episode, in that you gave us more in depth views of yourself through your family and your friends. You shared info that convinced me that you've worked your ass off to get where you are, and accomplish what you've done. The only negative aspect I have of you mate, is that you are your own worst enemy. I sense a serious case of OCD, and that can really take over you if you're not careful. I only say negative, cuz it's pushing you HARD, and the byproduct is STRESS. I almost get the feeling that in your mind, it's good, but it can be better. All I have to say to that is, enjoy yourself. You are an amazing husband. An amazing father. An amazing friend. Enjoy the results of all your hard work. Enjoy your collection as much as we have watching you acquire it. But most of all, ENJOY LIFE!!! Looking forward to your next episode. Love and respect from your fan base in Montreal, Canada. ps: F*ck those who nay say, and criticize you. If these people have nothing better to do than complain, it's cuz they don't have the smarts to think like you do. They talk. YOU WALK! Cheers mate.
Asmodeus1967 Well said! Behind every ‘success’ there’s a long story. The actual story, most people are genuinely not really interested in hearing... they just want the punch-line of how someone became successful. And hence that’s why they miss the point. Thanks for sharing your path which has lead you to where you are. This is your life, your story, and I hope you do slow down enough to step back and take it all in, and focus on your health and family.
I have some OCD and I would struggle to decide whether to organise games purely alphabetically or by year. It would have to be alphabetically within each year. Probably simpler to just organise alphabetically. It’s very satisfying once finished.
Joel your story is just amazing. Don't listen to the haters and jealous people. Don't let them control your content, just keep doing what you are doing. Last Gamer is my FAVORITE channel on youtube and I love coming along with you and the family in your gamer adventures.
I love the documentary. Like the everyday just seeing the chill people that have helped you out love the series can’t wait to see what you do next. I can see definitely why you made this series. I can totally see how it feels when people just thinking your rich but you don’t have to be it’s about connections and the people around you! There is so much that goes into collecting. So far I turned about 8 thousand to 40 thousand and I’m about to be 20. I wrote an essay on videogame collecting and the market lots of fun to talk about! 😬 I love how you found your grandfathers car like I want to know this and seee this!!!!!! Just finished the entire Pokémon game complete in box library! And working on castlevania now! Love the channel without people like you I wouldn’t have done this :)
Great video. I don't understand critical comments, you work hard, and you can spend the money on whatever you want, but you also have great friends and good contacts that allow you to make better deals. Do not listen to them. I identify with you and your problems with the internet. I also live in a rural area and now there was ADSL and 300mb fiber optic everywhere, I only had a 2mb telephone line. Finally, last year the 600mb optical fiber has arrived at my house. Keep hitting it hard, Melbourne is my next travel destination as soon as possible. A hug for the whole family!
I can't stand it when people grief others because of the amount of money they have. What are we in Soviet Russia here? We used to commend people when they worked hard and made a good living. It's truly despicable. With that out of the way I have that same steering wheel for my PC setup which cost me around 2200 to build my self, with three 32 inch displays and I'm far from rich. I work hard and play hard.
Thats the problem with youtube, people are too quick to criticise and moan. No need for it. You've worked VERY hard and deserve all you have. Keep up the fantastic work. You're still my fave youtube channel after all these years :)
Oh i remember that neogeo pickup video, great stuff that was!! No matter what you do, buy or say Joel, haters will be haters. I love how humble you are when it comes collecting games and to getting or keeping the gaming Guinness record this makes me proud to be an Aussie
27:41 - I've been waiting for this moment - Story Mode inside Story Mode!! It's Story Mode INCEPTION!!
Now we get stuck in an endless loop of the "making of story mode episode X" episodes until we reach the end then get into "the making of the making of story mode episode X" and so on until the end of time.

I share these exact sentiments
That is exactly what is going to happen. Mark my words. This series is a farewell.
Why do people keep thinking stopping collecting = selling. Maybe he has enough and now it's time to sit back.
Nope he will reveal his repaired collection and the assembled F1 setup maybe with an additional extension.
No doubt about it Paul, this is all smoke and mirrors. =)
I never would have thought Joel was so stressed all the time considering he has all these arcades he could play to relax at any time. Great video as always!

The Vlog Files are still on the channel and can be watched right now.... so from this point Story Mode is like a commentary track for previous videos.
33 minute's of pure bliss.
I have follow all this story mode, its very interesting and fun to watch!:) Im glad we have a person like you on this earth!
Absolutely one of my favourite youtube channels, just gets better and better!

I met James Garner from Rockford Files at the Toronto, Canada Airport back in 1984, I didnt realise how tall he was in person :)

30+ Minute Last Gamer Video.
Christmas has come early.......

These videos are getting a bit self indulgent
Ya think? Just the intro with that 'epic' music should tell you it is self indulgent.

Great to see you tie up some of the different loose ends of you journey. Well done.
So fun to see these sort of flashbacks. And the rooms oh the rooms. But thats a problem every collector has. Yours are just on a bigger scale.

Never heard it before but I can tell that the Paul Hogan Show theme is going to stick in my head for the next few days at least
Why was everyone on the last video talking about Joel selling his collection? Any truth to that?

The Paul Hogan show looks like The Benny Hill Show we had in the UK in the 70s and 80s not politically correct these days lol :)
Who cares what's politically correct? It's because of that crap we'll never have shows like Benny Hill or Married... with Children.
The Paul Hogan show was on over hear probably early 90s I used to watch it. It was funny.
