Dig the truck guys I just built a mud square body for my daughter and it's very similar to this one. I could give a couple tips but dont want to sound like all the others. Keep at it you guys will figure it out. Love the videos and especially the truck of course
got a question for u ..i got a 1990 k5 blazer 700r trans 2000 to 2400 torque converter in it and im thinking about buying this race motor it has 12.5 to 1 sbc 355 030 over with elgin e-1090p solid flat tappet cam with scorpion 1.6 rockers for total lift of 573intake 594 exhust can i use the torque converter i have on this engine,,..i no i got alot of things to change because it is a tbi fuel injection
no kidding, you can get by with 12:1 with pump gas & aluminum heads with a big enough cam....If its a mud truck it prolly has a big enough cam also, they spin them high.
were working on a diesel electric hybrid . Main reason trucks get stuck is the axle's. Were replacing them with independent electric motors. Also we get independent 4 wheel steering , meaning all 4 wheels can steer independent of each other and can be driven independently with chain planetary gear setup
That's looks like a Midland or Cleavland engine? Holley 1050 dominator is a big carb for a street engine? I hope you used Redline ZDDP additive, or at least a Diesel oil with higher ZDDP levels for engine break-in.
only need that kind of additive with a flat tappet cam. roller cams dont need it. im not saying it has a roller but just clarifying the differences in the 2
I'm not trying to sound like a jackass or a hater but I doubt that this truck is making more than 385 HP with that set up downsize the carb to a 650 cfm and 12.5 to compression would need high octane fuel to run right
Not to be a dick but alot is wrong here...1050 is way to big of carb for that build. For a 12:1 383 a 650 -750 is plenty and 8lb is waaay to much fuel pressure. A sbc runs on 5lb-6.5lbs at most...depending on how aggressive the motor is and that dipstick you had on the table was for a sbf...not a chevy. You had a ford dipstick in it is why it wasn't reading right. Cmon guys...smoke another one lol.
It really depends on 2 factors 1 your cam pistons setup 2 your spark setup if u got a good msd system with a crank trigger a built 383 can use a carb like that if I would build this truck sence it looks like a mud truck it would run alcohol way more power
Not if he is using Spray my brother..My buddy race's in the 6:50 class down south and his 406 with 12:5:1 use's a 950 quick fuel Holley without spray ...
ThunderHead289 what’s the ideal carb size for a 383 stroker with 64cc/225cc heads ? I’m having such a hard time with an edelbrock 800 cfm. I think it’s too much but if I change it to an edelbrock 600 cfm it’s too little it feels sluggish.
Way overkill on the carb bud. Bigger doesn’t always mean better. I have a 12.5:1 383 stroker in my K10 making over 500+ hp and i run a double pumper 750 on it and it is more than plenty. Anything more than an 850 is overkill on this engine.

Thumbs up! I see this truck burning to the ground at some point!!
I wonder where it is today
@@ThunderHead289 You don't know really? I take it that it was just a friend's or something lol I liked it, it'd be a fun toy for sure
Remember when dad built his 355 with 650 double pumper, back in the day was pretty nasty
overkill on that carb
I had a much, much smaller nitrous sbf ran quickest etc with a 950 over the 750.

Need to install that top radiator hose proper
any way i could get the motor build specs?? at least the cam?
Just saying if you develop a fuel leak stop with your doing check your fitting and the hose connected to it or you’ll be sorry.
im building one just like it and i was wondering what size boggers and how many inches of lift
+Laurel Holland I believe they were 33 or 35. It wasn’t my rig. Believe it had 5.40 gears in it
ThunderHead289 35’s minimum
Why 12.5 -1 compression ratio?
If your gonna run 110 go to 15-1
Right, basically cost the same to run either way lol

thats what im saying. 12:1 u can go w 100, not 110

That fuel line looks like a number six reduce your pressure to seven psi that should be OK and not overdo it on that carburetor.
What are specs on the cam?🤔

Not a Ford engine
Jose Francisco Medeiros ...not a Ford engine
Cool ass video! So you guys used Teflon tape for the AN connections?
Okay noobs....
Engine size (x) rpm
Take that number and divide it by 3456
That is the equation that gives you the cfm carb you should run.
Your saying this engine should be fueled by by a 550 cfm carb? That's not right

do you run this on pump gas?
It definitely was not pump gas!

was that a deer out there?
Those fucking AN fittings always leak.
how many cubic inch?

ive been around a list of 800hp sbc’s that didnt even have 950’s on them let alone a 10. I highly doubt you are above 450hp with this setup

383 stroker doesn't need more than 650 max 600 would be ample if you feel sluggish w the edelbrock theres something wrong w that carb
