The detail in this video is impressive! Would you be willing to share your tools/setup for diagnosing the problems? What cables are programs are you using with your laptop? I'm having a similar problem but it's slightly different and I need to diagnose it.
Hi, I'm working on a friends 2009 Rav 4 3.5L. It starts and then dies around 5 seconds later. Garage is sure it's the immobilizer but I'm not seeing any codes pointing that way. Do you have any advice? I was just going to replace the immobilizer but holy crap it's buried under the HVAC system. So now I'm hoping there is someway to pinpoint the problem. I do see a camshaft position sensor code but that was already replaced and it did go away for a while. Could a failing immobilizer cause the camshaft position sensor code?
That is the same code I have. This car doesn't even have anything in the key to communicate with the system. The key is just a flat metal key. I wonder if I even have that coil on it? Update: Come to find out, someone rigged it with a bypass, I guess. Got the proper key with black rubber and the transponder thing in it and it works.
What about a 2011 Camry with the 3.5L push button start with the exact same code B2799 but, it won't crank or start.
Thanks for the information, do you have to insert the key in the ignition when checking for the signal?

Yeah, those toyota's are so close-sourced that nobody's able to even read standard ecu stats via general-purpuse obd scanners.
Yes , really small part of the diagnostic community is using legal toyota scanners
Super bien
Ты бы по русски такое видео снял, было бы хорошо.
