thanks coach that video was just what i needed! in recent months i always felt a little of during maximum speed phase. today i did skips and bounds for distance and suddenly max phase felt really good again! 😊 and the idea of thinking Impulse (aka force over time) and trying to reach a given distance in minimum steps really opened my eyes! So thanks for the great Video!
Putting more force under a longer period of time actually would slow you down. Sprinting is not about the maximum amount of force you can apply to the ground but an optimal amount under a certain amount of time.
@@rebornedv8963it depends on the phase of the sprint. In the acceleration phase, ground contact times are quite long, so you have a lot of time to produce force on each step. At max speed ground contact times should be extremely short so total force will be lower on every step.
Hi Dane, I bought your football meal plan and must say I am seeing great results from it! From 178 to 185 in the frame of around a month. Hoping for 200-215 by end of the year. What are your thoughts regarding implementation of drop sets for athletes (specifically football) looking to gain mass/weight?
It's funny you mention physics and are wearing that shirt, my high school physics teacher used to put that same hand gesture on his forehead to remind us to add our vectors tail to tip 😂🤣🤣💀
is too much force a problem? I'm 16 and play alot of soccer. I play as a Right Winger so im pretty fast. but I've noticed that when im at a standstill or slightly jogging, when suddenly burst back sprinting i tend to get alot of cramps in my calves. is this a problem? I do warm up before and warm down after training and also drink alot of water. Can someone help me?😁
Speed training is not that complicated. It can be more simplified to average sprint distance in your sport. Train for these distances for speed and acceleration. Sports is about acceleration. Track is more about acceleration and distance. Keep it simple
The actual formula is F = MV with V being velocity, which is speed in a particular direction. A = (V2 - V1)/(T2-T1). It was not a waste of time taking physics, dammit.
I disagree with him on increasing the time you apply to increase speed. It will only help regarding your start but if you are in motion already and especially after 3-5 steps from 0speed then you need to increase length of stride while decreasing contact with the ground. Longer contact time will make you slow in your run. Speed = stride length X turnover rate.
Coach, one thing's going wrong in the 1st drill: Cooper starts with knee flexion and then flexes the hip, it's longer than just initiate movement from the hip. Most likely he's doing the same during the acceleration and it affects negatively his speed. Les Spellman breaks it down very well.

God bless prayers in Jesus name amen for healing and love and protection and comfort!
Thank god there’s an actual explanation to not knowing how to skip I tried it yesterday and couldn’t do it for my life even though it seems so easy

Dane hi I recently found out I need to improve my drive phase and my acceleration phase, please do a video.
Perfect timing with the video. I'm a try it. I think my speed will increase by next game
Im retuning to this comment; please give an update one day.
so did you see some results yet?
Any resuslts big man??
Any result??

Incorrect
Like half correct. The amount of force you can put into the ground is important, but also how fast you can apply that force
@@couch7607 couch? More like coach
@@couch7607 that literally EXACTLY what I said lmao.

O CARA QUE FILMA SEUS TRABALHOS ESTÁ DE PARABÉNS! NA MINHA OPINIÃO ESSE CÂMERA-MAN É UM PROFISSIONAL. PARABÉNS PELOS BELOS TRABALHOS DE VOCÊS!

Sweeeeet gonna try these out 💪

I feel ya Cooper.
Awesome content. Do you think i can use this for my son who is doing BMX racing?
Yes, absolutely
What course would I do to learn what he is teaching what is the educational course name?
Excellent advice. Thank you. Nice 🧢. Where can I get one?
Plz tell me after weight traning speed work...or long ran
Training in mount area then speed increase
I so agree with you. Can this nation have so many people who just can’t see him for what he is. Baffling!
Great
Only 1 true plyo drill (#4) to be done less often, and 3 sprint drills (#1-3) that are part of the routine that sprinters do daily
Arent you supposed to decrase the time the foot is touching the ground while incrasing the force applikation??
That’s what I thought too
No there are different variations that has different effects
Well no
I already know your wrong because of your grammar
Nah I’m jk
Learn how to apply force first
My husband can't skip either. It's so funny, a lot of men have a hard time with it because they were never little girls lol
I’m trash at sprinting I keep landing on my whole foot or heels when I try to sprint
Dane "drastically improve" Miller 😁

Stretch your calf’s more
Try testing for sickle cell trait or maybe g6pd deficiency if you can. I have both issues and experienced this same thing.
Maybe try warming up before and warming down after, and drink alot of water.
Hi coach can I speed increes. I m 40 years old I did 100..200..from Pakistan..plz help me
Can you do a video on acceleration and 10 yard speed or something?
kay. Whatever you say. ???

Perfectly said
He just needs to remember to land first with his back leg after the skip.
Neat

Yes, a gym is not a library, but it's also not a construction site !!

Maybe, his thigh muscles are tight restricting his motion.
0:34 surely not because some people are taller and height isn’t mass
Let me be your model athlete please
thats not skips
Hahaha the skips hahah
How are you talking all this too muchness, for a self-confessed “not good in school”’🙆🏿♀️😮😕

Who else loves to do plyometrics
