Yes the beginning in so peaceful until it isn’t lol once you’re out in the world you sort of feel lost and it’s supposed to be like that. Makes you try to find a place in the world and the game does a great job of making you feel inferior to the world. It’s so rewarding once it happens.
Currently playing the hardcore mode and I absolutely love it. The immersion of this game is amazing, it took me a long time to get into it but now it’s one of my favourite RPGs.
Same experience for me. Couldn’t get into it. Did some research, committed to it, now obsessed with it. I’ve still not finished my first playthrough and I was considering doing the survival mode but that looks like it’s will really take some time commitment! But I bet it’s so rewarding. No maps, just looking around the world for signs and landmarks, it’s next level gaming imo
Thank you so much! Honestly it is such a great game! You gotta stick with it in the early part though as it does take a while to get going. You have to overcome the part of starting of useless to the competent stage lol It really pays off once you get there and you appreciate it all the more! I put 500 hours in this game and that was just one playthrough. Let me know how you get on!

I was just about to give up on the game for the second time, after some 5 years after my first play, but your video made me change my mind. Thanks, man!
Yessss! The whole reason I made this video is so inspire others to stick with it and I love this comment! Honestly, I put it down back in 2018 myself. It’s definitely worth sticking with. You just have to be aware that it’s going to be hard at first! Keep training with Bernard, take your time, and one day it’ll just click and you’ll be fully hooked! Let me know how you get on!
It’s easy once you become skilled in combat. Now I’m killing with just 3-5 stabs or slashes many times even with 4-5 enemies around me, and it’s become the most fun combat in any game for me. It’s sad people put aside the game because they’re too impatient to learn the combat and expect a peasant to be skilled in combat, which is the point of the game. You become skilled as you gain experience
Its a great game i love it. Having bandits with a month of banditry be a huge huge threat to the play3r character who hasnt even held a weapon until 5 minutes ago is a really cool thing
@@Bingusgingus yes and the fact that when you are max levelled and 10 come at you at once, it’s nearly impossible is so realistic. You have to plan properly and are never OP. You have to play like real life and think strategically. When you do get strong and beat bandits though, it’s the most rewarding feeling I’ve had in a game in a long time!
Honestly I absolutely love it! I cannot get enough of it. I don’t know about you, but I am struggling to maintain my calm whilst waiting for KCD2 lol. It looks absolutely perfect! If KCD1 was made with limited budget, limited time etc. imagine what they are gonna drop with all those resources!

You’ve already got my trust, my money and you’ll have my time! Now you’re just torturing me” lol. I’m gonna take a week off just to play this game. The first one took me 500 hours lol this one will be even longer!
I love KDC. It was fun experience and i hope that kdc2 is just as wonderful. The fact you had to actually take time to learn everything was a nice change of pace and really made you work for it. The only real issue i had was that no matter what you were doing time continued. I can't tell you how many quest i failed because i took too many on at a time and they just continued on without me being there. That was a hard lesson to learn. To take it all slowly and one step at a time.
Haha I learned that too! It’s like real life you gotta make plans with people and stick to them! I remember one quest where you had to find cures for sick people. I got distracted hunting and when I came back they were all dead lol. The doctor was fuming with me! Lol
I really enjoyed this game and the concept of it. I never finished it because I didn’t have the time to dedicate to it but it’s on my shortlist of games to go back and play

It’s the most hours I’ve put into an RPG so far and I haven’t even noticed it. It’s worth it, but you gotta have that free time.
You have to also to learn each skill from each specific quests and related person. But also grow as person. From people like Godwin, Radzeck, Hans Capon, Feyfar, Bernard, Nicodemus, Tereza ... Even quests in monastery.
@@radeksilar543 yes of course! My favourite quest in the game is the monastery for sure! I spent weeks undercover there and part of that routine. Sneaking out at night then sneaking back in. Having a drink with those lads at night. What a game!

Just finished the game, loved it. Good to have a game that doesn’t wipe your arse for you. For a studios first ever game they did a damn good job and highly looking forward to the sequel.

@@peterclarke9859 me either! I wouldn’t worry about it though they don’t seem to be that way. That’s really been a hot topic recently right? I refuse to even discuss it lol
I just picked this game up on a free weekend on steam, immediately failed every single thing in the tutorial and I am looking for some reassurance that its not me. You gave me this and I thank you for that. You are also telling me this whole game is about being unable to even breath unless you "practice" for days. Well, in case I want to learn archery and have the time to level up in-game for hours I might just go down and practice in the real world instead. What I am trying to say is, 99% of gamers do not want all this struggle, we want a game to play and not start up a game after work hours to work some more in a game that is unable to give a comprehensive gameplay unless you spend your next week practicing things.
So I remember when I first played it and I was so confused by it. It doesn’t explain that you need to practice right? Like you get a tutorial and that’s it, it doesn’t really push you to return. Now I know I said I put days into training, you don’t need to. It’s worth it, but as soon as you hit that level where you’re strong enough, the game will become addictive. It’s just getting there. Did you get all the DLCs because I think if so you should sign up for the Rattay tournament and keep doing that. Even losing will get you levels up quickly AND it’s practice one on one combat! Honestly, I felt the same as you when I played the game and got so frustrated but now it’s one my favourites. Stick with it! Message me here and I’m here to help! You’ll be slicing bandits down in no time. But no, it’s not your fault, it is by design.
New sub here, thanks for this video. I have found combat extremely difficult but I want to love this game so I am sticking it out. Can I level archery at a range because I was under this impression I had to hunt based on other videos I have seen so if I can use a range I'm all in. Anyways, thanks again!
Yes you can use the range! It’s what I did! I hate a daily routine. I’m go sleep at the house, then ride into town and make potions for a while to level up alchemy. Then go to the range. If you can, stick a bit of tape in the middle of your screen where the cross hair will be, aim and get used to hitting the bullseye. Once you’ve gotten it down, do the competition non stop on the hardest difficulty and you’ll make a load of money at the same time. Each time you do a competition check your bow stat and it’ll have a % next to it. 100% means you’ll level up. I think you get 8-12% increase each time. Honestly this game is so good. Live in virtual town for a while and train like a beast. You’ll get used to it and the pay off is so good! If you need any more help or advice please comment here and I’ll help!

@@TheMysterieRPGguy honestly this game is a proper time consumer. It’s possibly the greatest immersive RPG I have played. But the hours I have spent! I have done the archery range competition approximately 50 times and I’m Bow level 6 lol
The combat in this game made me FEAR any encounter when I was starting out. Spent the good bit of my first olaythrough sneaking, stabbing, and poisoning everything and using the bow. Came back years later with all DLCs installed and a new playthrough. This time, I spent a lot of time with sir Bernard. That man made me into a warrior. I relish the thrill of combat and join every skirmish laid before me! Played it like a Witcher, though, with the potion buffs and all.
Haha that’s awesome! I remember playing it and constantly dying. Like if I got ambushed it was time to run. And awful when they caught me. Practiced so much! Then one day 5 came at me, and I won! I beat the whole group and at that moment I became the master. I feared no one and the pay off was so high! It takes a lot of practice and a lot of time invested to get there, but the feeling when you become strong is unmatched!
Yes! Thank you so much! You’ve made my day mate. I am 100% sure it’s going to win GOTY! If KCD1 was a rough draft, imagine what they will do with the new game! Quickest 600 hours of my life.
For anyone who doesn't want to do hardcore mode, please try it, the only really difficult thing is the map, and it is so rewarding learning ur way around the map with no makers or fast travel. Extremely satisfying
I bet it is! It’s my next playthrough! Do you recommend doing a regular playthrough first and then hardcore? I think hardcore for a new player immediately may be too much at first. But for someone who knows the game, it would be perfect. Hardcore mode is basically real life. And you can actually get to know the world because of how detailed it is. I’ve never seen a game world with so much detail in every inch.
@@AVVGaming1 yeah definitely... Trying to find hidden treasures without map markers is tough if u haven't found them before, and u need a lot more loot for money in hardcore mode
@@gamersrepublic4854 yeah I’ve not tried it yet, I still have a few quests to do on my original playthrough despite putting in 500 hours! I’m assuming hardcore mode will easily smash that as there is no fast travel. It’s the ultimate immersive experience though! Will let you know once I’ve done it!
I'm one of those people who became frustrated with it. I like the concept behind it, and that is the reason I gave it a try. The concept of realism is appealing to me, but perhaps what I am really looking for is realism in a different type of game with different mechanics. This game was valuable to me in that it taught me a lesson. Action combat is an extremely common mechanic in games, but I have never enjoyed it. I sometimes play games with action combat anyway because there are other elements that I like in the games. However, if action combat is challenging, then it becomes an insurmountable barrier to my enjoyment of the other aspects of the game. I don't even feel that sense of accomplishment when I struggle against something and finally succeed; I just feel like I have wasted time which I could have spent engaging with a different type of game mechanic that I enjoy. To tell the truth, I feel more satisfaction if find ways to bypass action combat, either by running away or even cheating. (Note that I have seen reviews indicating that the combat system has problems. I can't judge this, as I never got good enough at the combat to tell whether the problem is me or the system.) This is the game that finally taught me to stop trying to beat my head against the wall of action combat and look for other types of games that provide challenges that I enjoy. Needless to say, I will never play a Souls game, and I will not play Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Games with challenging action combat are simply not for me. This doesn't mean that they are too difficult in an objective sense. Yes, they are too difficult for me, or perhaps more accurately, I am not willing to put in the effort to conquer their difficulty because I would rather spend my limited leisure time doing something that I find fun. I appreciate and understand what this game is trying to do, and I am glad that it is successful enough to find a devoted fan base. The gaming scene needs more games like this. But this game and others like it are games that I will have to appreciate from the sidelines, because if I try to engage directly with them, my only reward will be frustration. As for RPGs, I'm better off sticking with turn based and real time with pause. Baldur's Gate 3 and Pillars of Eternity are more my speed.
First of all the games you like are awesome! Secondly, there’s nothing wrong with what you’ve said. Some games are just not for some people. Truth be told, Minecraft is the most successful game ever and I don’t like it. Doesn’t mean it’s bad it’s just not for me. For kcd2, I would wait for it to drop and maybe see how it reviews. Besides being a challenging game kcd1 was also very raw and done on a budget so it’s Janky. Like even if you become good in it, it’s still unpolished and difficult. KCD2 has been designed with the hope of it being more user friendly so you might find it’s better suited. Combat may be less punishing. I’m with you though I like a good story and bg3 really hit the spot. I’d rather play that than Elden ring for example. Witcher 3 is my version of a great game. Recently, I used to play games on normal mode or difficult but as I got older I started playing them on easy. I just wanted to enjoy the experience and not be stressed out lol I never allowed myself to play like that before and I must admit, I’ve really enjoyed it! lol thank you so much for leaving such a great comment too. I love gaming so much because of comments like this. We all love gaming and have so much to say and because it’s art it can divide but ultimately we love to converse about it!
Sounds interesting. I just bought Kingdom Come Deliverance with some DLC. Now I'm confused though as to whether my bundle includes Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. To me, the best part of any game is the beginning of the first play through. If I go slow, I should enjoy it. Fallout 4 Survival has lots of immersion, and I add immersion to it with mods. But I've played Fallout 4 survival for a few thousands of hours. Finding anything I don't remember how to do is almost impossible Sounds like Kingdom Come Deliverance will be a refreshing change
Yes I think it’s quite similar to the survival mode of fallout 4 (or at least in some aspects) so if you enjoy that you’ll probably enjoy this. It’s just a huge time investment. But I completely agree with you in that these survival aspects in game add immersion. I know some people who really don’t like them, but for me it really enhances the experience. Slow and steady is the way to go with this game. They have a survival mode as well but that is really difficult with no map or anything. I might try it after but it’s worth starting a regular playthrough first I reckon. Good to see you again as well! You were the one who inspired me to play fallout 4 on survival!

For me it just clicked and I became obsessed with training. It all made perfect sense!
It’s easy once you get skilled. Now I’m killing enemies with 3-5 stabs or slashes, even surrounded by groups of enemies. It’s become one of the most fun combat systems in any game now due to the realism of the combat. It’s sad people put aside the game because they are impatient with the combat. You start as an inexperienced peasant and you get more skilled as you get more experienced to the point it almost gets too easy. A peasant being skilled in combat would be unrealistic, and for a game focused on realism, that would be unrealistic.
Honestly yesterday I did one of the DLC side quests, and it was a fight between like 10 vs 10. After 2 minutes my entire team was killed and it was me vs the other 10. Against all odds I won and defeated them all! The feeling of reward was huge. Why? Because of the struggle I went to in order to reach those levels. I had to struggle so much and keep losing every battle against a bandit. After struggling and training for hours upon hours, I finally got Henry strong enough! But the point is, without the struggle, success wouldn’t be as good! The struggle is what makes it worth it! And the combat itself is so in-depth! It’s so enjoyable once you get to grips with it and I hope they keep it the same for KCD2!
Like I’ve never felt before! Now I run into an enemy and I slice them down so quick. Today I caught myself saying out loud: “you’re forms wrong! You have to defend yourself” to an enemy because he was fighting badly. It’s crazy because at the start of the game Bernard was telling me the same thing.

At least on the standard difficulty.
@@matts5247 yes it’s exactly my point in the video. It’s not that it’s hard, it’s that it goes against the trend in video games. Most games, from the get to you can kill any bandit and get good at everything. This game requires dedication, training and practice. People would say the game is “hard” if they did not know this training aspect was part of the games model. I know a lot of people who put the game down for this reason and I hope this video will help explain it to someone who may have stopped playing it and give them a reason to give it another go, knowing it’s a rewarding experience. You’re meant to suck at the start. That’s not something you see too often in games nowadays. Buts it’s also the reason it’s one of the most impressive RPG games ever.
@@matthewsteele8448 ah got you! I think people in general will have shorter attention spans as we push things like short videos on tik tok. Games like KCD, you have to give it a lot of time and focus. But in my opinion, those games are the most rewarding!
@@AVVGaming1 This has been a generational issue brought about by greed mostly. Game difficulty has gone downhill massively over the last 2 decades as these bloated corporations try to cater to the masses. Watch a Zoomer try to play an SNES game for a good example of this.
@@matthewsteele8448 I’m going to do a video on it because it’s close to my heart. It’s not just the attention span the new games aim for, it’s the instant gratification. How? Micro transactions. For example, I used to love playing FIFA (I know it’s a sport game) but it was to have my own team to build in offline career mode, be the manager coach etc. that mode has not been updated in 10 years, instead the online play has been the only area of development and the way that works is by buying cards which give better players (play to win) that’s just one example but not only do these games give to little in return but they suck the customers dry and they tend to be people who are part of that same crowd. And then…a game like KCD drops and it’s a game for people like us, and it means so much!
Just refunded this garbage. If you have to use Souls as an excuse to defend "Git Guddery" in games than you have an issue. Git Gud works for Souls because that is the POINT of Souls. In Souls you are a nameless nobody who challenges GODS, demons and monsters. That kind of difficulty works for that. In this game a regular townsman can beat the shit out of you, you, a guy who supposedly gets into brawls all the time. You claim this is supposed to be about realism but you are wrong. The game by all rights is amazing in every category.....except combat. This game still has probably the worst combat system ever put down in a video game ever. And not because it's "hard" or "realistic", it's neither of those things, it's just badly designed on so many levels and broken. You have archery and crossbows which make you a god that just murders everything without trying. Boss fights that are easier than fighting a peasant because they don't wear closed face helmets so you just stab in face. The combat system is clearly designed for 1v1 duels, but 90% of the game has you fighting groups of enemies. The combo system is convoluted and janky and just face stab is more effective 99% of the time. Enemies needing to be winded to be beat just ends up with you always on the attack when fighting groups, which winds you. And they just constantly block and dodge perfectly. There's just so much wrong with the combat system on a fundamental level and it's a huge part of the game, that I just can't recommend it. This is also the MOST complained about thing on the internet about this game. It's amazing in every other aspect, but the combat never gets better, it never gets fun, it's just tedious, broken, and a slog the entire game. Hopefully they learned and took feedback and KCD2 has a reworked system. Stop glazing a poorly designed combat system in a otherwise good game. Stop making excuses by overanalyzing the hell out of it and accept that it is poorly designed. This is coming from a guy that beat all of Soulsborne. Not everything has to be Soulslike. Fantasy in general is NOT supposed to be like Souls which is DARK FANTASY INSPIRED BY BERSERK. That in and of itself is different. I went into this game expecting something like OG Fable. A wonderful Medieval romp where I grew my hero and became the OP hero of the land shooting fire out of my arse and making armies flee before me, instead I get ganked and bodied harder than an invader in Elden Ring. Fuck this game, glad to refund it and go back to proper Fantasy RPGs that make you feel op right. Notifs are off, good luck replying
They have said they have learned from the first game and have made the combat less janky. It wasn’t perfect but the general idea was sound. They will make changes on the second game as they’ve said in interviews. As far as group battles go, yes that was a big problem, constantly switching between people made it difficult and I think they are trying to fix that as well. We shall see! Did you enjoy any of the game? Your comment suggests you did like a lot of it but not the combat?
@@AVVGaming1 Against my better judgement I came back here to hate read some comments that also hate the game. So I will humor you with this one time reply. I have seen their trailers for the new game, the gameplay ones. The combat I would say is 25% better. The "I am very 'ongry" battle cry meme is a bit funny. But that isn't much. The hp/stamina hard cap loss upon taking damage is still there, the combat, while less omni directional in your arrows you can use to strike is still that, a odd dual simulator and less traditional hack and slash, and ganks still seem to be there. I agree fully that the ganks made the game unfun as hell. A dualist game should not have gank fights, it is counter intuitive to the purpose of it. Swapping enemies was indeed terrible, the stagger system sucked and made you receiving stunlock a issue, and more. To answer your question yes. I did enjoy the looks of the world. The day night cycle was enjoyed, the worldbuilding was good, the lore talking about the connections to real world medieval bits and bops was informative and neat, the weather system was decent, and they story was good. However, all of it, ALL of this praise, is washed away by terrible combat. A turd is still a turd no matter how polished and pretty it is. If they were to ever totally redesign the combat from the ground up to be less dual simulator and more trad RPG then I would be absolutely on board.
@@trollking6315 I think it’s going to be really interesting to see the next one kcd2 because if you look at reviews they all match your summary : beautiful game, shame combat is janky and weird. I think this game was their first draft on a budget, but the new one is the real deal. They’ve said they’ve listened to fan feedback and have adjusted the combat so let’s see! They have to have sorted out that lock in thing is group combat though because that was frustrating and unavoidable too! Thanks for proving an update and taking the time to respond as well! Putting this game to the side, what game would you consider the best in terms of combat? Like an example they could follow?
I just started. The beginning made me feel like i just wanted to stay a blacksmith's son...just living in this world as a normal person.

The most rewarding part of the game! I’ve responded to your other comment with my assessment!

The only real issue i had was that no matter what you were doing time continued. I can't tell you how many quest i failed because i took too many on at a time and they just continued on without me being there. That was a hard lesson to learn. To take it all slowly and one step at a time.

This game is amazing in that you enjoy even small successes in your skills. You actually learn everything as if you were a small child.
And nothing is more rewarding when it all pays off! You have to struggle a lot, in order to make that victory even the more special!

Yes! Thank you so much! You’ve made my day mate. I am 100% sure it’s going to win GOTY! If KCD1 was a rough draft, imagine what they will do with the new game! I have send the graphics, heard about the size of the map and I love KCD1. If it’s that, but improved, it’s going to be amazing. I’ve sunk over 600 hours on my first playthrough.

I can't judge this, as I never got good enough at the combat to tell whether the problem is me or the system.)
This is the game that finally taught me to stop trying to beat my head against the wall of action combat and look for other types of games that provide challenges that I enjoy.
Finding anything I don't remember how to do is almost impossible
Sounds like Kingdom Come Deliverance will be a refreshing change

Omg you have like 10 fps
@@lisak4349 sorry about that!
favorite rpg of mine
Mine too! Over 500 hours on my first playthrough! Wait for KCD2! I guarantee you it’ll win GOTY! It’s going to be possibly the greatest RPG ever!
@@AVVGaming1 if only Illbe able to play it on my shitbox
