Those are core drill holes made by Curiosity to take samples. The diameter of the core drill bit is 24 mm. In addition the rover is using a laser and during burning holes (∅0.6mm -2mm) in soil and rocks a spectral analysis camera is filming and analysing the process. Mostly 10 holes in a row.
