The "combo" from basal sliver , lavabelly sliver and dregscape sliver is does not work, because unearth say "when it leave the battlefield or end of turn Exile the creature" so when u bring back the basal sliver and sacrifice it again it goes to Exile
yeah but just use the queen. bam easy fix
If you are using intruder alarm, I would also run cryptic gateway. Because with overlord and 3 slivers on board. Tap for 3 or less (if you have training grounds already) to search for whichever sliver you want.
Tap 2, summon from hand, intruder untaps. Keep going. This combo is even more threatening if you have aluren and hibernate sliver on board in case they target exile your slivers (highly likely in response)
I would also run mana reflections and scuttling sliver for unlimited mana. Always have a backup in case sliver queen falls
I'd cut the Triomes in favor of Reflecting Pool, Unclaimed Territory, City of Brass, Secluded Courtyard, and Mana Conflux. Tapped lands are bad for Slivers because you need to get ahead early and missing a drop on turn 1-4 can cost you the game. With 10 Fetches and Shocks you'll have the colors you need no problems. Also, cut down on removal. There are plenty of Slivers that can act as removal themselves and Overlord can find them.
Just my 2 cents.
Great advice! I agree with not running a ton of Triomes, which is why I only stuck with 5 instead of all 10. But I see where you're coming from. My only issue with City of Brass and the like is that cards like Three Visits and Farseek can't fetch them.
@@commanderbydaenen yes that is downside them not being fetchable, I would include Sylvan Scrying, Crop Rotation or any of the green cards that let you look at the top x for a land and put it in your hand if you need to find something like Cavern of Souls.
Unless you want to use amulet of vigor. But to me, seems like a brick
I always wanted to build around the second ability turning my opponent's stuff into slivers and then taking them.
Morophon only reduces colored mana, not generic costs. It’s clearly stated in the card :)
One of the few strengths of the Overlord over the 1st Sliver is that you can use Counter Spells. It's not really a requirement but you may want to play as many strengths as you can. because from the looks of things the 1st Sliver makes a better commander in you build.
Also tutor-able removal like Crib Swap & Nameless Inversion.
As well as tutor-able ability to give Changeling to Mind control good targets like Avacyn. (Ameboid Changeling & Shields of Velis Vel)
I just assembled a Bant Sliver deck with Chulane as commander... haven't played with it yet. :-)
wt about amoeboid changeling to take enemy creature (is a sliver too so is tutorable)
Any tips to make your draw and play faster? I played against a no color eldralzi deck and got wrecked! They ramp Too fast!!!
Not to bust your balls too hard, but I had a good chuckle at that attempt to pronounce the word "remora," so thank you for that.
Put a First Sliver deck together but after playing it a few times dismantled it. 1. It isn't a fun deck and keeping up with all the abilities on the board can take too much time while resolving combat. People at the table generally groan when you whip it out. 2. The mana base is intensive. It's a $60 deck (without the Queen) with a $400 mana base and unless you have a TON of extra fetches and triomes and shock lands you end up cutting into your available lands hard keeping this deck together.
Yeah, I have a couple of decks like that, where the mana base is like 80% of the budget of the deck. A lot of cEDH decks are like that. The actual core of the deck - wincons and whatnot - are fairly cheap. It's the support pieces, interaction, mana, etc that are expensive.
Proxies my guy. The people at my LGS are 100% cool with proxies so long as you own at least 1 copy of the card, and most don't care if you even own a copy of the card. The game is too expensive, and WotC did this to themselves.
CMD Overlord - I like the ability to tutor, even though it's technically a little slower than the First Sliver
Doesn't Unearth exile the creature when it leaves the battlefield?
Close! Unearth exiles it at the end of turn.
@@commanderbydaenen
From the Comprehensive Rules (November 18, 2022-The Brothers' War)
702.84. Unearth
702.84a Unearth is an activated ability that functions while the card with unearth is in a graveyard. “Unearth [cost]” means “[Cost]: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step. If it would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else. Activate only as a sorcery.”
@@philnagle9024 Huh. Well, I guess I'll have to tell my step daughter, lol.

No worries. I actually really enjoy your videos and the basic template you lay down for Commander builds. Thanks for being awesome!
One of the best tribes!
2nd best, Dragons are the best tribe.
They said one of, not THE best. Disgusting illiterate.
I literally place out all the slivers and let my opponent decide
Add bloom tender and legacy weapon 😅
Once you add a non-sliver creature (and yes that includes shapeshifters) is it really a sliver deck anymore....
Good question. I think that so long as most (80%+) of the creatures are a single type or support that type, it can still be considered a Tribal deck.
@@commanderbydaenen fair point, but if we really scrutinize this deck, it's basically an elf tribal with a big sliver splash.
i mean yeah its a good idea if you have about £1000 spare just for lands not to mention the totally not needed £300 sliver queen ....all youve done is make a deck that wins by outpricing everyone you play with and rubbing it in that you have more money than literally most people that play magic when you could easily synergise a perfectly good sliver deck for a fraction of that bloated price -_- i built my sliver overlord deck for under £100 and its never lost a match
I think you missed the part where he said he was building it for someone else who had the cards...
Proxy my dude proxy is ur savior
Can send a link for your deck that's under 100 I'm also trying to be budget friendly plz and ty
Build for aggro.
