- UPDATE: - I was WRONG in my assessment of training grounds and sliver queen going infinite, another card synergy is still needed in order to make it work. Such as Basal sliver to be able to sack the token sliver for 2 mana and then activate sliver queen for 1 and repeat with basal for infinite mana. Thanks so much guys for pointing this out and setting me straight!!!

Nice setup, good to see recent discussions on slivers. One note on Virulent Sliver, while Poisonous and Infect both apply Poison counters to an opponent, they behave differently. For example, a 5/5 creature with “Poisonous 1” will do five points of damage to the opponent and apply a single Poison counter. Alternatively, a 5/5 creature with Infect will not cause the opponent to lose any life, but it will assign five Poison counters to the player.
Infect is a combination of the Poisonous and Wither abilities which is why it will apply -1/-1 counters to a creature, but Poisonous has no affect against creatures, just opponents.
Pertinent rules: “702.70 - Poisonous” and “702.90 - Infect”

REALLY? Are you positive? I have a card that says "poisonous 1(this creature deals damage as poison counters or -1/-1 counters to creatures) orrrr..... something like that
I was known as the sliver god back in my day before leaving Magic losing track of my cards, and getting into the military. I played and developed the original counter sliver deck, wild pair sliver deck, pauper before it was named pauper, the original Highlander sliver deck.
Had over 300 sliver queens at one point in all languages along with all the rest. Really sucks I don’t have them anymore

The combo with mana echoes is for sliver Queen, you activate her ability one time with only her on the board you put one sliver in the table you have two slivers making two mana which you can then spend to make another token ad nauseam.

16:50 training grounds dosent let you reduce the cost to less than 1 mana, which means that sliver queen still costs 1 mana to make tokens

im not very good at deckbuilding, but it seems like a really fun deck! looks like a lot of the slivers have heavyier mana costs though, how easily does it play out?
@@JojoFPS I’m not good at deck building either man! It’s just fun to experiment you know, I for sure am know guru. But to your questions, the deck plays out very easy. Lots of mana fixing, easy tutor ability with overlord to get whatever you need to do the job. Lots of fun each time and different experience bro.
He completely misunderstood Training Grounds. For example, it has no effect on Sliver cycling.

I'm in the process of building a slivers deck myself but I plan on having Morophon as the commander.
I imagine after playing morophon, I can just drop the legendary slivers for free into the battlefield and any other slivers with no generic cost to them.🤔😄

Just bought this deck! I had the OG dual lands, fetch lands, shock lands so it wasn't too much more expensive.

Dude awesome! Thanks for checking out the vid and deciding to give the deck a shot! It’s a lot of fun regardless of the lands you use. In terms of some more reasonably priced but decent lands, I’d go with shocklands, fetches, battlebond lands, the zendikar rising and kaldheim pathways, the jumpstart slow dual lands aren’t too expensive and decent too. The most recent innistrad set also has some good dual lands that are cheap. Ikoria triomes is another good option. If you get the fetches definitely try to do that now since there low priced currently with MH2 having been released recently. Cheers my friend!

Lookin to build a sliver deck, what do you think of Benthic Biomancer? Not a sliver but a second training grounds to make overlord cost less seems good. Do you tutor for training grounds with demonic/vampiric often enough that a duplicate effect isn’t worth it?
Also why no arid mesa? If budget isn’t an issue, isnt all 10 fetch + all 10 duals optimal?
I had city of brass over yavimaya but I like yavimaya. I haven’t seen it before so I’m going to try it out! Also Wdyt if Ignoble hierarch over Noble because mana echos is double red?
Lastly, I’m playing frenetic sliver just because it’s fun lol.
Hey Joe, benthic is solid but not where I wanted to take the deck in that i wanted all slivers unless it’s a mana dork. I do often tutor for training grounds but more the pieces to go off, crystalline sliver, sliver legion, other fun cards based on how the game is going. Why no arid mesa?? To be honest I pry didn’t have any available (not already in other decks) at the time of making the video. No that modern horizons 2 is out and I’ve opened up a ton of fetchlands I for sure will be adding all 10 fetches with all 10 duals. Will pry make an update video on a revised deck list at some point in next few months!

I play a more control variant to ensure board control so I get the combo or with just a few slivers + legion easy attack win.

If you have a sliver queen out + 2 other slivers, and you play mana echoes, can you in theory create an infinite amount of slivers? That’s what I would do but I’m a degenerate

If you search for crystalline sliver first... and then play it..... doesn't that ruin your ability to search for a sliver? Also "say THIS perm" abilities?
Hey man! It does not ruin the ability to search for slivers. Now if you have crystalline in play with amoeba changeling and you want to try to steal another creature you cannot. Cheers bro!
It ruins the "gain control of target sliver" since it aplies to ALL slivers.

I run Slivers too. I consider my deck to be pretty powerful too. Although I have a different set up. I try to get Crystalline Sliver out before I bring out the Overlord. I do that because often My Overlord will be targeted before I cans use it to Tutor.

@@cjr3985 I have not, not because I don’t like the idea of it, but more because I already run tamayio in my atraxa deck. If I can I try to avoid running the same card a lot just to keep it fun. If I wanted to go full power then I pry would make some changes. Cheers man!

You are missing out on a few cards that are op in the overlord deck I can’t give you all my secrets but you can have a couple that you will want to squeeze in shields of valis vel, ahh god dam autocorrect it hates magic cards names 😂 unnatural selection, seed born muse is crazy good especially in multiplayer.
Seedborn muse is an incredible card, only recently came to know of the card’s existence. Cheers my friend, thanks for the feedback, will definitely check out shields and yeah unnatural is beyond OP.

@@rodrigoquiroz yeah that is a great point, I did pull it off once to prevent a turn 3 Kalia from being played but your right, it’s very unlikely that in a 5 colored deck that I would have another blue card to exile with it. I just found your video yesterday and since I'm building a Sliver Overlord deck it really helped me out, I have a bloom tender sitting on my binder and it never occurred to me that it's a great addition to this deck.
Unfortunately I don't have the cash to afford dual lands haha but used triomes, shocklands and basics instead.

I honestly feel Like you are playing a deck that somebody else made. Because the genius in the deck is high. But you don't understand rules very well.
I dont mean this as an insult. Im telling you this because you are a UA-cam and you value what we think.
I personally only use decks that I myself created. I don't find influence anywhere. (Obviously tribal effects influence). But really.... it us SUCH a satisfying win when you used your own brain! It's organic
I did seek a lot of influence from other builds and yes I did make several mistakes in explaining many of the synergies. Obviously had a lot to learn still. However the final deck list was my own creation. I agree that organic builds yield the greatest sense of accomplishment/satisfaction when it all comes together. This is why I enjoy limited and draft almost as much as commander. Cheers mate,
