I currently work for the Red Cross as a Mobil Phlebotomist in a different state than you. It took me a couple times to get the job, I just reapplied and went through the process again and then got hired. So if it is something you want to do don't give up! Thanks a lot for sharing Robynne. I had a similar thing happened to me. I applied with the IFRC and got shortlisted for a test. Same as you, to me it was an opportunity of a lifetime and prayed to get a job with a multicultural organization. On the day of the written test, I forgot to put my phone on "do not disturb" or switched off and got bombarded with calls while writing the test and that put me in a very anxious and confused state that I ended up messing up on the test. This was December 2021 and I am still bombed up and very depressed about losing this opportunity because of my error. To cut the story short, I know and sympathize with how you feel and hope you got a better opportunity. Really thanks for sharing. It would be really nice to know how things are going with you. May be that will make me more optimistic on the future. Thanks

If you're interested in a job with the American Red Cross, I suggest volunteering with them first. That's what I did. I started out as a volunteer scheduler, which entailed scheduling blood donor ambassadors (who, coincidentally, were also volunteers) at this one donor center and surrounding community drives. A year later I got a job with them. I work as a telerecruiter. I call people to schedule them for platelet donations. I also experienced frustration, because during the time I was volunteering I applied for a donor center coordinator position, and I stopped hearing from one of the talent acquisition staff members. Don't give up! The American Red Cross is open to hiring people with a variety of skills.
Oh my GOSH!!! The same thing happened to me!!!!!!!!!! Same position and everything. The in person interviewer was so excited and showed me around and introduced me to everybody! 😢I was devastated.

The job that Im looking at is one in which we will be packing up stuff and moving it around so it sounds physical. Im a 62 year old single grandma, so it makes sense for me. However, there are parameters, and ageism is real. I read up and became Nationally certified through NPCE in phlebotomy, Hey I get the not wanting to work as a CNA forever; and some people are so mean in CNA work because they think they are better than the rest and or they form little clicks. Some women can be mean. Healthcare is rough.

Dont worry i use to volunteer than when a disaster hit and they needed volunteers i wanted to help than i was told i could not volunteer because i don't have a driver's license. Only a id. So i feel for you.

I’m also a CNA and got an interview on Monday for the same kinda position
in my location the red cross hires anyone that applies as long as they have a drivers license and no recent felonies.
