Absolutely fantastic. This is what UA-cam is all about. I have learned so much watching your Video, I am ready to take on my stubborn snow blower now. Thank you for this one.
I've never left a YT comment before - but this requires a formal tip of the hat. Best DIY video I've ever seen. Easy to follow, great little tips and nuances, good video quality/angles. My blower started on the first pull after I was done. SUPER helpful!
Hello! We got 10" of snow and my snow blower has only been used one time. It was showing the same symptoms as in the video. I have two 100ft + driveways and was feeling defeated. I don't know anything about engines or even care to learn about them. I watched this video and followed it step by step. After about an hour, I put everything back together, prayed to the snow blower gods and pulled the cord. I was so surprised and happy that it finally started and I was able to knock out cleaning my driveways. I can't thank you enough for this video and the detailed step by step instructions as well as the great camera angles. Keep up the great work and it truly is people like you and videos like this that save people money and time. Thanks again!!!!
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
This fixed my snowblower. I couldn’t believe it. I purchased a new spark plug and it still didn’t start. I took apart my carburetor and there it was - a clogged jet. Cleared it out and reassembled and 1st pull. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you for your easy steps - camera angles so a person like me can follow it and fix our equipment. Again - thank you!!!!
Absolute life saver, my dad brought his machine over to me thinking it was broken just needed a good carb clean! Much appreciated for the fantastic tutorial!
Thanks so much. Every year I face the same issue and I had always been afraid to try and fixing it myself and ended up taking it to a mechanic shop. This year I had no way to do that so I decided to follow along with your video and give it a try. I was able to take the carburetor apart, clean it up and make it work. Thanks a million
Hi Sir, like this one, I purchased a craftsman 2 years ago and never used it. Today it snowed and I wanted to do my walkways and ran into this same problem. I would like to thank you for such a terrific and thorough self-help video.
We didn’t get any snow last year, so my machine sat for 2 years and of course wouldn’t start when it snowed this year. Sat in the garage for 3 weeks and I tried to start it every couple days with no luck. Real frustrating. Watched your video and now it runs like a champ. Thanks so much for posting this.
What an incredible step-by-step video. You just saved me some money, and also gave me the knowledge to fix my brother's Craftsman snowblower. He's way too old to be shoveling snow, so this might have literally saved his life. You just earned a new subscriber. Thank you!
I also have a Craftsman blower with the same engine. I recently had the same issue and my first indication of a problem was that the primer bulb didn't seem to be forcing any gas up into the carb. Problem with mine was the line from the carb bowl up to the intake was clogged (pressing the primer bulb forces fuel up this tube into the intake, which it could not do). Took the bowl off, sprayed some carb cleaner up there and after that it worked fine. Note: as i write this I am less than 13 minutes into the video, so I don't yet know the problem. But I am predicting he has the same issue as I did. EDIT: OK, watched further into the video and yup, same issue. Only I fixed mine without removing the carb from the engine. I just removed the bowl and sprayed a mess of carb cleaner up the tube. Yes, I also had a little gunk in the bowl, so I cleaned that, too. But as for the carb, I just put a bunch of rags under the carb and sprayed away.
amazing video! I have to do this to a 2 year old craftsman snowblower that I drained the gas out of at end of year last year. north of $1,000 machine. Meanwhile, my neighbor has a 15 year old snowblower that he doesn't drain the gas out of and starts first pull every year. His is not a craftsman. I use Rec fuel as well and drain it and this still happens with good old craftsman. I am not looking forward to doing this but you just made my life a million times easier by making this video so thank you! I clicked subscribe as well.
I’m not a handy person and I’ve certainly never tried to fix a small engine before. My snowblower wouldn’t start and I decided to use this video to give it a shot. Video was easy to understand and very thorough. I was able to complete everything with ease and the icing on the cake was my snowblower started instantly when I was finished. Excellent, excellent video.
Fantastic video!!! Two days from a snowstorm hitting and a broken year old snowblower that's not covered under the warranty. What's a girl to do but watch a UA-cam video for help! The step by step directions were spot on. Much gratitude!!
Thank you for this really great video. Your explanations were thorough. After watching I was able to confidently clean out a similiar carburetor and the machine roared to life.
One of the best tutorials out there. Went thru all the steps except forgot to re-install the float. I know, don't ask. What happened? Fuel everywhere even coming back out of the primer bulb! To top it off, piston got into vapor lock and was extremely froze. I went back into the carb and installed the float. Took out the spark plug and got excess fuel out of the cylinder. All is well. Learned a great lesson. Don't be in a hurry. Take your time and appreciate the $$ saved by this great video.
I really don’t know how to thank you!!!! I could change the carburetor of my snowblower just like walking in the park!!! Thank you so very much again!!!
I just want to say thank you ! I never comment but I just bought almost this same snowblower bran 2 years ago. it has maybe 15 hours on it. It ran like crap when I pulled it out this year. I followed your video and shes running great. Thank you sir
This video was a life saver. This was literally the first time I’ve ever had to do any small engine service and the step by step process for my blower back running on the first attempt! Thank you so much for putting this up and teaching this guy a new skill
This was fantastic. I know nothing about small engine repair and was able to get mine running thanks to your video. Watched the whole vid then had my iPad open in the garage during the repair. I’ve only had mine for two seasons and everything was clogged. Works like a champ now!
This was exactly what was wrong with my machine, I followed everything step-by-step and boom one click and my machine started right up. Very thorough video. Great job. Thanks so much.
I see you get this all the time but this video really helped me out! Saved me some money and gave me the confidence to work on my own snowblower! Great work!
Perfect videos, mine wouldn't start and we was about to get a snow storm, ur video helped me get mine started, and I was able to show off to my wife lol
I don't comment on much but I had to say how much I appreciate this video. Saved me a lot of money and it only took about an hour and a half from start to finish. Started up on the first pull.
Jan 2023 - Thanks to The G Automotive and More - This was a perfect video. I have a Craftsman 26 Select with exactly the same setup, with exactly the same problem. 1 yr old and only ran for 1 minute a year ago since we had no snow last year. Gunk in the jets. I am not an engine repair guy at all and it took just under 1 hour. There was nothing difficult about this, just follow step by step and familiarize yourself with each move before you make it. I did not have the fuel hose clamp, but used a folded rag in the jaws of Vice Grips to keep from damaging the fuel line. 10mm socket is a must. everything else is just as you see. Thank you for the video.
I haven’t ran my snow blower in 2 years, went to start it this year and it didn’t fire up like it usually does… saw this video followed it step by step put new gas in and BOOM fired right up first pull. THANK YOU
I can’t thank you enough… this video was excellent and easily helped me fix my mother’s snowblower. My father passed away in 2019 and this has sat since but I needed to get it running to do her driveway, shoveling was getting old lol…. Thank You!
Have a question since running it, runs better with the choke on… turn half to the right it sputters and all the way to the right it sputters and back fires… any idea?

The video was fantastic. My blower is only one year old and wouldn’t start for me on the last snow storm. Very clear and informative. I will be attacking my snow blower now and I will rerturn to let you know how it goes. Thanks..
I just want to say, thank you for this video. I have a similar model and it’s only been used 3 times since 2019. I always run it dry after season. The only issue I ran into after disassembled and cleaned was a fuel drip between the carb and the engine. I suspect trying to use the old gasket is the issue. Ordered new ones (and apparently a replacement carb) so I’m going to remove and replace them to see if it stops the drip. On a positive note, outside of a drip, it ran fine and the snow that came the day after was taken care of. Thanks again for this tutorial. Saved me a headache.
Actually a follow up comment. My brother mentioned that simply running the tank empty may not be the best and I should turn off the fuel (I’d have to install a valve shutoff), then let it run dry in the carb. Would that make a different from siphoning the fuel and then running dry from tank?
Thank you!!! I watched your video several times until I got the guts to mess with it. I put it back together and I had the little needle backwards- gas was leaking🤦🏻♀️😅 and an extra piece (bracket), BUT I fixed it and the snowblower works now!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for showing me how to get the damn choke knob off. My tip for you is the throttle handle can stay on, there is a factory notch in the center that clears it. You made a quality how-to video that really helped.
Great Video! I have the exact same snow blower. Used it one time last year. Won't start this year. I am going to clean out the carburetor and see if it will start! Thanks!
Thank you so much for this fabulous video!!! I bought this exact snowblower last winter - I made the mistake of not storing it properly during the spring/summer and couldn’t get it started this winter. I followed the steps in your video and my snowblower started right up! I have never worked on mechanical equipment and found your video easy to follow. You are a lifesaver!! ❤🎉
Epic video my friend. Non electric start for mine. Followed along with you other than the carb cleaner dip but used GumOut to clean everything. Used paperclip and bobby pin for cleaning holes out. Worked like a charm. 2nd pull fired up. And no more revving up and down. You are the man!! Thanks for posting this. And
Thank you so much for making this demo video brother. Saved me a whole lot of headache dealing with Craftsman and their difficult warranty process. 1 year old clogged carb FIXED
Glad you were able to fix it. I would drain the gas in the tank and pull the float bowel off to get ever drop of gas out of it. Then reassemble for storage.
Lifesaver, thank you sir! I know absolutely nothing about engines and fail miserably when I try. Your video was very in depth that I did this with a breeze! And my snowblower runs now! Thanks again!

I have a slightly different model than this; but this video was very helpful! Started right up! Saved me a ton of money especially since they charge just to pick it up. Thanks!!
Thank you so much! Exact problem happened to me ... had used Sta-bil in the tank and guessing it didn't do what it was supposed to. Your video was right on! My snowblower is 28", so was too big for me to bring to a shop and decided to give it a shot. Up and running in about 30 mins.. thanks again!
Thank you very much - helped me out tremendously! At +/- 25:31 may want to mention that the emulsion tube needs to be checked, cleaned, etc. thru the entire tube (light seen thru top to bottom) - mine was plugged at the top. Motor would start but not stay running - I could keep priming it but rough running. Thanks again!
Very good. I thank the vlog to show how to clean up the clog out of carburetor. I have snowplow machine so I will follow the instructions what the guy doing. Many thanks for your vlog. Give him A+ grade.
Using premium will help bit I still think you should drain all the gas out of the machine. I even pull the float bowl off to make sure no gas it left in the carb. Thanks for watching
I have the exact same Craftsman model (regrettably in retrospect) with the EXACT same issue. You've demystified it completely and I THANK YOU! I just hope after I clean the carb out that it doesn't just clog up all over again. I'm thinking this issue must be related to some "pre-gunk" salving that the manufacturer originally set up the machine with?? Hopefully once it's gone it stays gone. Guess we'll find out... thanks again!
Thank you so much and great job making this video and also explaining step by step on how to clean the carburetor, I have a similar snow blower with the same problem and thanks to you I was able to get it running and now ready for the snow. You have a new subscriber here.
Great video that showed carb cleaning from start to finish. My snowblower had this exact same problem. Same make and model as well. Followed your tutorial and it started up with two pulls. Thanks a bunch!
what a great great video....my neighbor has this exact machine with this exact problem...brand new used once last year and now no fuel is finding its way into the cylinder...this will help in the repair.
Very thankful for this video. I was about to take my snowblower to someone to get fixed till I found this. Didn't know how important it is to drain fuel after the season. I used it 1 time last year and wouldn't start this year. Thank you
Thank you . Awesome tips for cleaning fuel line and carb. Fired up first time. Snowstorm here, shop said 3 weeks to fix. One can of carb cleaner later, done in one day.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have the same exact unit. Used it one time last year. I'm guessing I didn't drain it, but I went through your instructions and it started with one click of the electric starter. Just in time as we had 2 feet of snow this weekend.
This video saved my weekend. Had the exact same issue with mine. And it was the exact same issue that was causing it not to start. Plugged up fuel jet. Thank you!
Thanks for posting this excellent detailed video. I think I have the same problem, I don't know whether I would able to fix it but I will give a try. Thanks again.

I have a slightly different model than this; but this video was very helpful! Started right up! Saved me a ton of money especially since they charge just to pick it up. Thanks!!
Thanks for the quality knowledge. Have a 3 year old craftsman. Didn't drain last year's gas. Got it running again. Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching
this was exactly what I needed and very thorough. Great job.
This was so helpful. It was exactly what was wrong with my 4 year old Craftsman Snowblower. You saved us time & money! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for taking the time to explain this so well. You did an excellent job and I appreciate it!
Thanks for this tutorial ! Followed the steps and started right up on first pull !
Glad it helped!
Freaking awesome! Thought I would have to blow a pile of money getting it repaired. Great video instruction!
2nd year in a row I've had to reference this video. You did a fantastic job, thank you!
Thanks a bunch. This is exactly what was wrong with my model. Your step by step instructions were great. Thanks again.
Just rebuilt mine based on your instructions, thank you!
You’re welcome!
Very good. I thank the vlog to show how to clean up the clog out of carburetor. I have snowplow machine so I will follow the instructions what the guy doing. Many thanks for your vlog. Give him A+ grade.
Thanks for doing this. After following all your instructions it fired up on the 1st try. My neighbor told me to use premium gas from now on.
Using premium will help bit I still think you should drain all the gas out of the machine. I even pull the float bowl off to make sure no gas it left in the carb. Thanks for watching
Great job explaining what needs to be done.
Thank you for the video! I have the same model and same problem. Your step by step was wonderful!
Followed step by step, what a life saver thanks for the very detailed instructions have a great one!
Thank you!!! Your video was so helpful. My snowblower started right up!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Thank you so much, you are the first one to give me a tip on this video.
Thank You for the video. Shocked what small dirt debris does to carburetor. Snow blower fixed thanx to you👍
Exactly what I was looking for! Great video, thanks so much!

Amazing tutorial. I can’t thank you enough for the guidance. Hope we get the foot of snow they are forecasting!
Thanks for watching
Very thankful for this video. I was about to take my snowblower to someone to get fixed till I found this. Didn't know how important it is to drain fuel after the season. I used it 1 time last year and wouldn't start this year. Thank you
Be sure to run it dry or remove the float bowel to get all the gas out of it. Thanks for watching
Thank you .
Awesome tips for cleaning fuel line and carb. Fired up first time.
Snowstorm here, shop said 3 weeks to fix.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have the same exact unit. Used it one time last year. I'm guessing I didn't drain it, but I went through your instructions and it started with one click of the electric starter. Just in time as we had 2 feet of snow this weekend.
Best tutorial video I’ve ever seen. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
This video saved my weekend. Had the exact same issue with mine. And it was the exact same issue that was causing it not to start. Plugged up fuel jet. Thank you!
