Completely agree with Dave. During Covid, we dug into savings so we didn’t have to lay off any employees. 8 out of my 10 employees each approached me on their own initiative and volunteered to take pay cuts so we could keep operating (I declined their offers because that’s what our emergency fund is for), but I will be homeless on the streets before I let any of my employees go home without a paycheck. It’s not heroic, it’s just what decent leaders do. Loyalty is a 2-way street.

My DISC profile evolves with new positions and experience. Love Dave's explanation though! Nailed it

I'd be an "f" keep me locked up in the back of a warehouse, toss in cookies & coffee and say "sales screwed up again!" then watch while I get 2 days work done in one day on anger and adrenalin. LOLOL

The number one measuring tool of the success of your company, or any company is the "health" of your employees, the ones that make your money. If you treat them with respect and appreciate and compensate their work, your company will be beyond healthy and profitable. Every company puts profits and politics ahead of their employees and then they wonder why the morale is down. When morale is down, the health and the profits of the company are down. I work for an agency now where they punish those that work the hardest but not buying into their culture and politics.

I’d be interested to hear how this works out. I wonder if it’s the kind of work or just how this individual works…

You wouldn't consider having 0 dollars to a 600 mil company in 30 years successful or smart?
