This is a really cool guitar and your story-telling was great too. Unfortunately I wont be able to bid as covid stole my job 6 months ago and I haven’t yet found another yet.
@@seancarney8443 no!
when exactly will this be up for auction?
Awesome guitar! However I recommend watching Skallagrims video about the Claymore ... you might be surprised ua-cam.com/video/moKNGGI2XaQ/v-deo.html
I’m going to try and bid it , it looks so Scottish, and bloody brilliant
In a scottish guitar, the volume knob goes from 0 to "freedom"
Volume goes from 'hee haw' tae 'severe malky'. :-)
Always makes me smile that Scotland has rebranded itself as being part of the "English Empire" in the eyes of the rest of the world.
Let's ignore all the African Americans with surnames like Jackson and Douglas, and pretend the Scots were on the "oppressed"" side of history, shall we?
The "white women" of the UK. To paraphrase Bill Burr, "You were sitting right there in the jacuzzi with us".
(edit: Sorry about Brexit, mind. Our bad!)
;)
This is especially funny cause I just watched why scottish people don't sing with a Scottish accent lmao
This is possibly the greatest reply I've ever seen
You've really kilt the competition when it comes to naming the instrument.
...
facepalm
I see what you did there...nice!!!!
The Kiltar had to be a close runner up.
An old joke...”whats worn underneath the kilt?”
“...nothing’s worn, everything’s in perfect working order!!”...
i prefer to respond with "lipstick"
@@jesse7768 lol
“Your mother’s lipstick” to be specific…
@@solidSchmaltz Your * because You're means you are
@@melanisticmandalorian8909 Good catch. Thank you.
Lol unrelentingly Scottish from start to finish. Love it
That's awesome. By the way, for anyone who isn't Scottish, trying to watch this at 1.5x speed is...inadvisable.
I was wondering where he got a pedal that sounded like bagpipes, but then the video started.
At 0.5x it sounds like he had more than one wee dram.
I’ll be trying that next then haha
I'm pretty sure this is Colin speaking in an English / American / General UA-cam audience friendly way. Watch some Limmy or Rab C Nesbitt for some comedians who kinda lean into the impenetrable Glesga accents (at least to non-Scots).
@@burp1914 It's not a pedal, you just run compressed air up a cat's bumhole.
“Capable of cleaving through a dense mix and Englishmen alike!” Oh my heart...you’re my new favorite man!
That’s no way to treat Ben Crowe
This turned out amazing, and without a workshop! Awesome!
We need a picture of Colin charging over the Highlands wielding this guitar crying out "For the algorithm!" Sell autographed prints & I'll be the first to order.
Yeah man, that's awesome.
I knew that this was going to be an incredible build and you have blown my mind even so with every added feature!Congrats man! B
This turned out great dude :)
This turned out to be a Scottish culture and history lesson, too. And I can’t help but be fascinated. After all, the enemy of the English is my friend.
Tbf I think every self respecting Englishman hates both themselves and other English ppl
As Mike Myers once said/shouted "If it's nae Scottish, it's CRAP!". As Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade might say "Nice work, ya bastard!".
I was wondering if anyone here was old enough to get the Mike Myers reference.
"Head! Pants! Now!"
1:32 don’t lie you been proficient at workin ya wood since you were 14.
Cool build Sir nice work 🤘🏽
I'm so happy that you went through with this build, the end result is awesome despite all of your early uncertainties !
I personally never doubted that you'd make it (and in time) even with a serious handicap, so CONGRATS
BUT I must say you don't just have disadvantages: you know what you're doing with the electronics, you're funny af and know how to tell a story, you're the nicest guy in the online guitar community to me. Also, I've already told you but, you've taught me a lot in all of those years, so THANK YOU !
Also I forgot to add: if I wasn't in the competition myself, I would have totally rooted for you, even if your guitar was crap :) Yeah, I'm biased like that.
Bringing your Scottish heritage and Rock heritage together to make one of the best looking guitars I've ever seen.
* Proper 27-inch baritone, perfect for Drop A.
* Individual saddles, instead of that horrible Gibson tail.
* V body.
I am so into this guitar!
A metal version of Loch Lomond was something I didn’t know I needed
As a fellow Scot this is the greatest guitar I have ever seen. Inspired. Haste ye back! 🏴
O'neill is Irish.
Very very very cool man. Nice work, great story. I’m here for it.
This is the best entry by far just on concept alone.
First time I've heard THAT version of Highland Cathedral.
I really like the "one-piece" inlays, I've never seen those before. Regular dot inlays are pretty boring, and these have their own look.
Tartan on a guitar could easily be too over the top, but this guitar is actually very classy.
Yeah, he's a real out of the box thinker.
TOTALLY AGREE MY FRIEND! My eyes rolled when he said what he was thinking! But its 1 CLASSY LOOKING INSTRUMENT!🤘
I bet your neighbors were this build. Gripping their sgian-dubh every time you fired up a powertool. Lol
They already hate me, so it's nothing new
@@ScienceofLoud Ha! I hear that.
Apparently "happy" and "with" didn't make it into my comment. Wtf? Lol. Nonetheless, you got it.
I'm not a "V" guy. But I really like that V. This could've easily went into cheesy territory. You pulled it off without cheese. Great job.
Per mare per terras!
Alestorm needs this guitar! Nice job dude. It's a beauty!
This guitar can be played by anyone..
EXCEPT FECKIN’ CAMPBELLS..
Wow, outstanding 👏🏻🤘🏻
You should get an invitation too, Fabian!
Aye, gaun yersel' lad! Very braw! You've given me inspiration for what to do for my own guitar to help it match my own kilt!
William Wallace would be proud
Can we just give Professor Scott a little bit of credit for making wild shit like this happen?
The hills are bare now and autumn leaves lie thick and still over land that is lost now
I'm not scottish, but "Flower of Scotland" is such a wonderful piece of music!
I've been rooting for you since I knew you were invited to the competition. And this guitar turned out magnificent! I'd love to bid for it but sadly won't be able to due to some rough economic situation here. What I will do instead is at least support the charity you have chosen, cause they do deserve it and it's great to have you raise more awareness for them.
While I am far from being Scottish, this guitar makes me feel proud of what can be achieved with a lot of dedication and even a little bit of space. I hope I can start my own guitar building journey later this year if everything allows for it.
Thanks for the inspiration and for the hard work Colin! I know this beauty will end up in good hands!
Stunned about how this turned out, well done man ! You didn't take the easy way but the result is magnificent 👏
Im Welsh, that guitar is magnificent, vote logged, bid will follow - dogs danglies of a concept/build - nuff said 👌🙏
This is brilliant, love it!!
Just amazing! Love this channel!
Holy hell, I'm in LOVE with that guitar. Congrats!!!
If there is one thing I've gathered about Scotland from watching Colin's work, it's that it's never a bad thing to be loud and proud of your heritage. Even if your preferred method of communication is 100W amplifiers and powertools 👍
Fantastic job, looks amazing.
It looks and sounds amazing!
Mate, you've done amazingly here. Absolutely amazingly. The workmanship and the design are astounding. I love the thought you put into the materials and iconography. It's like a piece of history made in 2021. I am also really glad to see your passion towards your chosen charity. I hope your axe raises a shit-tonne of dosh. You deserve the recognition and the charities deserve the help. All the best to you, pal! Love from England :P
My heart leaped a little at the tone of Flower of Scotland. That's one beauty that really should stay home. Great work Colin.
beautiful work man.
Fantastic work.
It's just so badass
Being of Celtic heritage myself I love how this turned out, and what an underdog story this is amazing man. Good job!
Awesome concept! Awesome guitar!
So awsome. Great job. A classic
I am barely 6 minutes in and this is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. 10/10 my Scottish friend!
Man, I wish 100% of the proceeds could go to Simon Community Scotland. What a wonderful choice for your charity.
Looks amazing man! Great job, congrats!
Looks absolutely amazing! Great job
There you go - no (or nae) problem too big a wee dram won't solve.
Absolutely stunning guitar, mate!!!
This looks great. That said, even if it had been a hot mess, the coining of 'guitartan' alone is worth it! Good stuff!
Absolutely incredible.
Great video and amazing guitar. Well done!
I give this 2 👍👍 and 3 🦙🦙🦙 in a V formation! Take that Algorithm! 🤪
That is amazing, Keep up the great work.
This is absolutely amazing!!! I love it!
3 dislikes? Why? You dislikers build a guitar yourself and tell us how hard it is. Good job cs guitars and cheers from the Smokey mountains
Him: starts playing auld Lang syne.
Me: SHOULD AULD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT 🙆🏻♀️
Beautiful creation!
Awesome build mate
All the best
👍✌😎
Somehow, I guess I'm not the only one who gagged at the Haggis shot! Seriously, great job, Colin!
Forget anything coming from a tin. Yes it contains lamb's heart, lung and liver (as many traditional dishes do), but a properly made haggis, served with neeps & tatties *and* the occasional dram, is truly magnificent...
@@claudevieaul1465 It would take a LOT of drams to get me to eat that!
I love haggis, but that looked grim
EARLY SQUAAAAADDDDD
I am. SQUAD!
SQUADDD
This is insane Colin. Well done!!!
Well done with the build it looks and sound great
beautiful guitar sounds awesome. nice job
This is absolutely beautiful, and the layers of nerdiness put into it is elating. Fantastic job!
Just excellent! From start to finish a brilliant project, perfectly executed!
Wow. I really enjoyed this!
Great work! You really did a great job of balancing simplicity and detail with this build
This is really freaking cool! Really liking the details
This is so incredibly impressive. I am so happy I stumbled upon your channel a lil while ago
Absolutely speechless. This is fantastic!
Very, very, very cool! Congrats on winning! Great concept and well deserved!
absolutely amazing piece of art! the vision and the execution are simply flawless. congratulations...
This is a great build! Wounderfully done!
Brilliant video and fantastically original guitar. Loved it!
Congrats on a well deserved win :)
This turned out so good!
Beautiful guitar. Beautiful medley.
This is really cool and original, props to you sir
What an amazing build, you have my vote!
That is an amazing V. Hats off, lad!
This is actually outstanding. 👏👏👏
I've heard of pride in one's heritage/ nationality, but you've certainly made your ancestors proud, sir.
Impressive guitar and very nice video. Good luck!
This guitar is amazing! I love your love for your homeland and how this turned into a great guitar!
So tastefully done and beautiful craftsmanship!
Breathtaking work, and extra points for the one room workshop! Hell of a job
What an absolute beauty of work, great work Colin.
Awesome , looks great , sounds good too !! 👍👍
Amazing guitar, awesome detailing and huge respect for building it with such simple tools
Appreciate great channel, great reviews on gear, & explaining technical stuff🤘 Awesome build & dedication to your heritage & background!!!!
Awesome build and a very entertaining video. Thanks Colin :)
Awesome! I love it! It’s the most original collection of ideas I’ve heard this month:)
This is such a brilliant, well thought out, and executed project.
And the cause you've chosen to benefit is so very worthy. Thank you for your creativity and your empathy, friend.
I honestly stumbled across this randomly and I'm glad I did. That is a badass build!
