      CSGuitars this V is absolutely gorgeous
      (If folks are wondering what to do with the old bridge hole maybe go for a kill switch or just plug it with a bit of dowel)

      Pretty nice guitar. Looks really nice. :D
      I was wondering if you could do a TATA on Wah-pedals? I'm not sure what they do and how they do it.

      Hi Colin ! ;)
      Very beautifull, Unique guitar and personnal upgrades !!
      Nice fucking job and choice :)
      maybe also see :
      Tuning machine or just tuning keys ( Gold keys and full black machine ? )
      cover pickups ( relic brass finish ? with black pole )
      knob potentiometer ( more personnal choice, no plastic gibson :) )

      and yesterday on other video I left you a question ;)
      ' How to measure mA for 'each output line' power supply ?
      '
      I want to know how much is worth to miliiamper each output.
      Manufacturers announce values, but I want to check to be certain.
      Safely.
      Thanks

      When you drill a hole you should stop 3/4 of the way through then turn it over and go the other way. That’s how you avoid blow out

    I think it's better that skilled practitioners like you should show when things go wrong. That way those of us without the time, practice and skills that come from them know that we'll cock it up sometimes but it can be fixed as long as we think it through. Thanks again for sharing this is awesome.

    FYI, you could've used the plunge router base for your Dremel to drill pilot holes for those ferrules and get them perfectly square to the top and back. Should just about be possible to get a 3mm bit all the way through. Mark the exit holes and use the scalpel to score a 3mm square centred on those marks to minimise blowout, especially if you put some tape around the bit to mark where it's about to punch through and ease up on the drilling pressure just before you go all the way through. A 3mm pilot hole would be perfect to centre the brad points on the larger bits you use on the hand drill and keep them aligned as you drill through to the final diameters. Also, drilling the ferrule recesses in the back first and then drilling through from the top would also ensure that any blowout would happen inside the recesses rather than marring the back as you did here, and as long as you did the pilot hole first then both holes should be well aligned.

    • @alabamahebrew
      @alabamahebrew 5 років тому

      @@soul-6323 - It can, just do what he is doing! I recently purchased a 2014 Gibson Les Paul that someone tried to refinish, they did a horrible job btw. But I have always wanted a Gibson Les Paul Standard or custom but my wallet only allows for the Studio models, which are great guitars but they just don't have all the fancy stuff on them. So I got this Les Paul Studio for a great price, $400!! and decided to make it my pet project and create my own Les Paul custom, I did not put binding on the body though. To make it a truly "custom" guitar I decided to cut in a belly comfort cut. I have seen this done on other style guitars but not on a Les Paul. But I decided to gamble with it and give it a shot. When I got my cut almost down to the depth I wanted guess what I found? You know how Gibson does that weight relief stuff? Yeah, where I was making the comfort cut the mahogany had been hallowed out so I ended up with a hole now that was about 5 inches long and running right through the middle of my belly cut lol. After some fancy fill work I am glad to say that the guitar is now in the process of having the Nitro clear coat applied and should be ready for full and final assembly in a couple of weeks and you cannot even tell what happened in the comfort cut. Live and learn and make mistakes, but in the end it's all fun and rewarding. So to you I say, purchase some brass pieces and start customizing your own Les Paul.

      i always wanted onem myself and i saw a 2013 tribute goldtop in a pawnshop so i boguth it,now the finish is flaking off and turnign green adn tis desperate for new frets,i jsut dont even have money for a pickgaurd at the moment

    • @alabamahebrew
      @alabamahebrew 5 років тому

      @@soul-6323 - A lot of people like it when those gold tops start turning like that, it's now vintage. I have a white Les Paul that is yellowing and everyone who sees it thinks it's cool because of the yellowing. I guess I am weird, If I buy a white guitar, 20 years later I don't want a yellow guitar lol. I have yet to do any work with frets but have the tools and I do have one guitar is in need of some fret work so it will be my first victim lol. If I felt more comfortable in my skills I would do the fret work for ya for nothing other than you pay the shipping fees, but right now I would not do it for fear I would end up having to replace your guitar lol.

    Ho my goodness!!! You have built an unbelievably beautiful instrument Son, nice work. I have enjoyed your You Tube movies for a while now but I am compelled to comment on this one. Not only was it informative, it showed me what kind of man you are. It is one thing to do a build with artfulness and purpose but to also show the mistakes and frustrations along the way takes a strong self esteem. I see an honesty and true to self that few have shown to me in many years. (With except for my boys, I’m lucky there) To find the time to make the movies and tackle a big task such as this also shows the ability schedule, follow through, and time management. I am sure your folks are very proud of you and your accomplishments. Keep up the great work an stay true. Play on.

    Mark out where your holes start on top, then mark the holes from underneath. Drill SMALL pilot hole from underneath, about 10mm into the wood. Drill ferule holes into the wood, but start the drill in reverse, gently, then forwards. Lastly drill your holes from the top, being careful not to follow through when they meet up with your ferule holes. I made exactly the same mistakes. Hindsight is wonderful! :-)
