What a match ! Those Munster vs Toulouse games never disappoint but this one takes the cake ! Both teams were awesome. Congrats to Toulouse and Hard luck to Munster.
Watched this in my French hospital room after heart surgery on Wednesday. At 70 minutes the surgeon came in and told me to switch off the TV as he didn’t want to have to operate again😉 Bravo to both teams for a cracking game in a buzzing Dublin stadium. 👏👏👏 Used to go there with my Father-in-law when it was Landsdowne Road. Would love to see one more game there🙏

What a game, good ref, good crowd, crazy antics and a drop goal shoot out to finish it off. Sad for Munster, those few missed penalties did them in the end.

What an absolute belter of a match, the highlights don't even do 50% of justice to what this game was.
Limerick and Munster have such a tradition of Rugby in the city. Similar to the regions in Wales and the Scottish teams, contrary to public opinion, there is very little money in our provincial game especially when compared to the English and French who can assemble world class players on an incredible budget. Yes, we are able to make a 'marquee' signing every 2/3 years but like the teams from 2000-2010, 90% of the plating squad are local lads or "boys from down the road".
The team that won the competition in 2006 and 2008 are bonified legends in this part of the world but the players who have come through the last 10 years deserve as much credit as the ones who laid the groundwork. We have all known about their potential for years but the big thing as a Munster Fan the last 4/5 years is that we have reached the quarters and semis of the competition and have lost by going out in a whimper without firing a shot. There are ways to lose but the last 4/5 years we have gone out in such a way that it has left a sour taste in our mouths simply because we know what those players are capable of and didn't deliver.
Today, every player from 1-23 stood up like men, against an awesome team in Toulouse with money behind them that are able to assemble a team and squad that a world elite would envy.
There is no substituting the quality and raw power in the front 8 that Toulouse have. It is simply outrageous. They are a credit to themselves and the Jersey they wear, having said that the defensive effort put in the second half and I have seen serious defensive efforts in the past but to a man despite the weight disadvantage they poured their heart and soul into an effort that to me is beyond anything a Munster team has ever done before. They are all heroes in my eyes.
Credit to Toulouse, that is no way to decide a game of rugby in my eyes but having said that, one team had to go through. They are a sensational side. No complaints about the referee, he had a great game.
For those insulting or slating young munster players on social media,players who gave their all, who are young and still developing and playing in the biggest, most pressurised game of their career so far, you are a disgrace and not a rugby supporter. Those lads will regroup, they will take their lickings and improve. They are a credit to themselves and their families and they will be steering the Munster ship for the next few years, as fans we will rally around them.
Best of luck to Toulouse in the next round, their fans are knowledgeable and passionate. Against Leinster which is a match worthy of the final,they have every chance in the world of coming away with the spoils but have no fear in the sense that we will be back next year, looking to take the next step with the 'boys down the road'

You forget some crucial thing : french and english rugby clubs play a very tough championship with relagation.
Irish provinces give everything to european competitions +6 nations ( weak celtic championship, no relegation )...
@@AttackTheGasStation1 Toulouse, Toulon, Clermont and racing have a budget of over 30 million a year to spend on players. Munster has a budget of 2 million euros.
The French and English have so much money compared to the Irish, Scottish and Welsh that they can afford to buy as many players as they want so playing in a league with relegation isnt an issue with rotation.
As a French and Toulouse supporter (not a fanatic), I cannot understand people "insulting or slating young munster players on social media", I assume they are not true supporters and former players (I played for Toulouse - not his one, the Toulouse Université Club in the late 70s). Both young and older players were fantastic, but Toulouse has some players who are both still young and experienced at the international level.

Great game of rugby , gutted for Munster . It's would have been a Hollywood ending if Healy's penalty/drop goal went over . It's good to see Munster finally having a good few academy players coming through. Anyway the lads should be proud of their effort .
It would have been a poor ending had that gone over given Murray was nowhere near that high ball, and then fell over as if he had been shot to cheat a penalty.
Yes, lot of merit for Munster growing its own players, as Toulouse does, but there are a lot of village and small town clubs in french South-west who to Toulouse, and this club has the money for foreign talent too.
two great teams, great skill, played in a great spirit. I am a munster fan but take my hat off to toulouse coming to the cauldron and winning. of course I dont like losing, but that is part of good sport, it keeps you on tenterhooks and not knowing which way it is going to go. the beautiful game was a winner today for sure.

@@joeloutau4956 what does the hips going above the shoulders matter if he still lands on his back? A 6,8+ 120kg lock hitting a full back at full pace is obviously going to result in a big collision. Since he landed on his back it shouldn't have even been a penalty

For the yellow, ref says himself: it's just a very hard hit, and he lands on his back, so it's a yellow. So, we now give yellow cards for hard tackles?
It’s a yellow card because it’s a tip tackle (lifted above the horizontal) and he landed on his upper back instead of his neck/head (in which case it would be red).

Sii fue un partidazo de la san pxxx loco ...y yo le iba al Munster; cuando fui a Dublín en 2010 me compré la camiseta en aquellos años iban fuertes más que hoy. Could someone explain what is the rule during a shootout ?
3 kickers per team. All of whom had to be on the pitch when time expired, so you can’t bring back someone who has left the game or sub in someone who was never in the game.
Then IIRC at least two of them take turns of six kicks per team. First time I’ve seen it , so I may be off a bit.
3 kickers chosen from players on the pitch at the end of extra time. First round of kicks are from the 22 - 1 central, 1 on the right 15m line and 1 on the left 15m line.
The second round of kicks are from the 10m line, again one from the centre, the others from each 15m line. Each of the three players takes one from both distances/rounds.
If still level after the first two rounds (6 kicks each team) then it goes to sudden death - not clear if this follows the same pattern as it didn't happen.

Why couldn't Munster hook the ball all match?
was at the match and i suspected the arnold tackle on Zebo was a red, and this confirms it for me..
He tried hi best to tip him and was deliberate in landing with his leading shoulder on Zebo's neck head area.
Hats off to munster on the performance, and a corner has been turned for sure..

Magnificent game and I don't want to be negative but surely there is a better way to decide the winners other than a penalty shoot out. Very tense, true, but unfair on players who are not kickers. Rugby is played with ball in hand. Maybe removing a player from each team every 5 minutes into a golden score period would be fairer ( they would have to be from the same position to prevent uncontested scrums). Any better ideas?

Penalty kick shoot outs are nowhere near as good as they used to be. You aren’t meant to have the same people take the kicks, you are meant to go from best kicker to worst kicker and so on. Look up Cardiff vs Leicester Tigers penalty shoot out on UA-cam and you’ll see a proper one there.

Toulouse ne se prend que du tres lourd, on peut dire que ses campagnes de Coupe Europeenne meme en periode de Covid ne sont jamais usurpees. Par contre attention aux blessures, je trouve que la LNR et la FFR devraient imperativement imposer une regle en periode de doublon Top 14 / 6 Nations: ne faire jouer que des joueurs espoirs que le championnat ne soit pas fausse, que les clubs qui fournissent le XV de France ne soient pas leses, que de jeunes joueurs puissent emerger et surtout que les internationaux beneficient d'un veritable break apres le tournoi. Parce que la on a vu Willemse a Montpellier se peter le genou... vu le rythme et la longueur dementiels que le Stade Toulousain enchaine, on est en droit de craindre. On peut en dire de meme pour certains joueurs Rochelais et Toulonnais voire du Racing, bref les internationaux doivent pouvoir beneficier d'une vraie mise au repos. Donc bravo Toulouse, realiser ce qu'ils font apres une annee de double c'est vraiment tres fort, surtout apres les deconvenues lors du tournoi. Je trouve cela aussi si ce n'est plus fort que la remontee de Toulon.
