Man you did an amazing job!!! Really skilled.
Im just glad I found this video before I did the tiling. Currently putting up cement board. Very Good and Thank You.
Nice to see the frost grout you used with the marble look tile. I was thinking of this colour but may go with light grey now. Thanks.
Another great piece of work and mastered technique !
This video was exceptionally helpful, thank you!!!
Hey, you are a genius man!! Great video, excellent share.🇬🇾🇬🇾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💯
Beautiful work. You show attention to detail
Perfectly done ..very neat 👍
Nice bro! I would leave a gap between the metal edge and the tile for some grout, also in the miter cut where the two metals touch

Good Job!
Great 👍 job mate
Wow that’s awesome bro 🇬🇾
Nice job. Question. There is no surface behind the wall where I want to install a niche (fibreglass tub surround). Is it ok to install as long as I have 2xs to fasten pre fab niche to
Nice job
Except for the fact that this will not pass building code, nice job!
If that's a load bearing wall which it does appear to be based off the framing and exterior plywood then exactly. Regardless being a tile guy myself I frame niche out with a header king queen jack studs for code and integrity if the house makes a dramatic shift, i know my tile isn't gonna pop and cause structual issues on a load bearing or partician wall lol
did you sand/polish the niche base granite. It looks really nice :)
Dawg, u gotta frame that niche with king queeen jack studs, and insulate it lol.. that framing is not right😂. Not hard to frame that out right. Coming from a tile guy myself lol
To confirm. That is an outside wall where the niche is installed, correct? Nice work.
Quite a awesome n beautiful finish. Need work man bro
Perfect job, maybe have some work to be done
At first I was nervous that you cut those studs but didn’t carry that weight with anything, but then you came thru at 4:26 and put my fears to rest 😂🤣😂
Heh...if it was load bearing it would probably smash down on the blade on his sawzall and get locked up. Definitely know ahead of time if what you are cutting is load bearing though!
It is a load bearing wall, he needs to learn how to frame and put a header in there loo
👍
Really good job, but do you not use silicon on the wedges ?
we always use silicon on all the wedges on the wall and floor, in Europe.
I figured out that on a few years of use some tiles crack because of the movements of the house and pressure from the corner.
with some flexible silicon it can work without cracking the tiles.
silicon at corners? What do you mean "wedges" (at the niche?)? thanks for respoinding, I am doing this now in europe
yes, sorry, i meant the Inside corners and Joints.@@ramsareit
caulk the corners
I agree this is great work. I am going to use this video for my staff. There is a lot of material u have here in the video we just can't get overseas. How many hours did you have into doing that shower?
About 4 days
Hello, what type of plastic did you use behind the durock? Can you also use aqua paper? Thank you
The plastic is optional
I dont use aqua paper
We supplied shower enclosure glass with installation.Frameless
Nice. I love your work, it's so neat. 👍
Love the niche. However, I think you should have placed it on a slight slant outward to avoid water buildup.
The EZ Niche has slope built in to promote water shed
@@austinlongacre8844 Good to know. I don’t think that was made clear in your video or I wouldn’t have commented.
Would look better with a dark grout. But nice job.
aslm bro, very nice and wanted to know where you order your granite base please ? thx
From a local granite fabricator in Orlando
Where do you get those sills for the niche?
It's a peace of quartz. I usually order it from a local granite and quartz fabricator
Vanity lights are in the wrong position, but the tile work is beautiful, congrats
Very nice work but I don't understand the benefit of purchasing a prefabricated niche. Why not save the expense and simply build the waterproof niche?
It probably comes out to a similar cost, when factoring in extra labor, for cutting all the pieces for something custom fabricated.
I came across this video. I think he does really good work. I've been a contractor over 20yrs years. So, I know good work when I see it. But, I had to watch with the sound off. He mumbled so much. I couldn't understand what he was saying.
Granite is the absolute WRONG MATERIAL to install in a shower.
You have a lot to learn buddy. One vertical grout line fits and the other don't. If you ever work for my clients they will boot you out in a minute.
What do you mean buddy?
Hater
That’s an exterior, load bearing wall that you just hacked to install that niche. Your going to definitely get some movement on that wall now and it’ll transfer into your tile work. Cracked grout and loose or cracked tiles. An you now have no insulation behind the niche. No bueno sir.
Man, I commented too soon…you installed it ON TOP of the board? Holy hell let’s see how the rest of this goes!
