@@jevmenyt3422sounds like an expansion pack! I noticed the slugcat dropping its tail like a gecko. You're hiding a lot of secrets about how the world works in this, aren't you? To give back that feeling of confusion and learning...
I'm so far, so deep, so irreversibly away. Away from my home, away from all the things I known. Stuck in an alien place, wondering and looking for a way.
Creating new regions is one thing, but an entire world separate from Five Pebbles' facility grounds? That's admirably ambitious. Downpour already scratched my "expand upon original world" itch, so a completely new world is exactly what I'd love to experience, even if it isn't as large as the original world. I like how the Outlander is refreshingly plain like the Survivor. Not every slugcat needs to be an exciting, unusual color, so I appreciate the restraint. The tail escape ability could be interesting, assuming it's not too useful (it'd make regular Vultures less threatening) and the tail takes several cycles to regrow. I can imagine a scenario where it's used for transportation-perhaps a lizard could carry the player up or across an area that's tricky or impossible to traverse-though getting free rides deliberately would generally be ill-advised.
nice to see comments with deeper thoughts, tail regrows in a single cycle to not keep players penalized for too long and saving the game in a complicated situation while being penalized
@@jevmenyt3422 Does having no tail negatively affect the Outlander's stats (weight, speed, etc.)? If the consequences are serious, I suppose it's reasonable to have the tail regrow quickly. Another question I have regarding the tail, if you don't mind answering, can it be picked up? Obviously getting the tail back would anger the predator that has it, and it could be weighty enough to require two hands to carry, but it could then be fed to another, perhaps more dangerous predator, allowing the player to get by or make the predator vulnerable to attack if a spear happens to be nearby. Really, as long as it's not simply a "GET OUT OF MOUTH JAIL FREE" card the player can abuse, the removable tail seems like it'll be pretty cool.
@@MetricGuard the tail can be moved arround as a semi heavy object, by default is set so you cannot tame lizards with it because it was extremely cheesable, but you can enable that back if you find it funny. Having no tail aside from the inmediate hunger stat changes makes your movement different in specific actions
@@jevmenyt3422Since slugcats seem to store fat in their tails like lizards do, wouldn't it make sense to make it so you can't eat as much extra food for future cycles whilst the tail is missing?
@@Kyrikrliythe penalty will not last more than 1 cycle to prevent players from saving the game in an undesirable situation, it already switches you from 4/3 to 5/2 for the current cycle and will be good as new for the next one.

In terms of support has a massive modding community and considering i dedicated years of my life to this game, yes i think everybody should give it a try, but you should expect a rough begining anyways so dont be surprised, the game also has a lot of asist options by default if you wanna change some things to adapt the game to your experience and if you want to change even more there is always a super niche mod which changes *that* super specific inconvenience you had.
