Welcome to the " MLC Performance Fabrication " UA-cam Channel! All my life I have had a love of dismantling and building things and now I want to bring that passion for building to the masses. I work for A local heavy haul trailer manufacturer in the Engineering Department. I get to design some crazy stuff and watch it get built. But my beginnings started as a welder on the shop floor. Now I continue my welding journey in the evenings and weekends in my personal shop building racecar bodies and race car lifts and repair work. Always up for something new and challenging. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the channel.

I AM interested on bulid My own oven. But I am in doubt how to control de on/off gas switching, I mean how to control the temperature
The pid controls the temp with thermocouple. The pid on my oven controls an outlet that turns the heater on and off. I also have a 110v gas valve connected that controls the flow of gas.
@mlc_fab thanks. That was My question about, may be y was not clear enougth. Do You hace info about the valve?
Just saw this. Holly cow what a mess. The work it took to fix it. You did an awesome job in making it right. I was able to get the control arms, spindles, and what's left of the k member from a guy that didn't like it after he welded it all on. I am going to use it on a kit car I am going to build. The upper control mounts you used will go perfect with what I am going to do.
Yes. It was a lot of fun. lol. But I enjoy the work. Was just way more than I planned on. I had Send cut send make the brackets. Wasn’t a whole lot if I remember correctly. I’ll get the files sent over. Seen your messages. Just had my ACL reconstructed. So I’m down for a bit.
@@mlc_fab oh man. I hurt and it wasn't even me. Best recovery to you. Send them whenever. You Heal
How many tubes have you trashed with that thing? Material is super cheap under the Biden administration so it’s cool
1 small piece in the beginning. None since. Make yourself some bend ref tubes with it. You will be able to figure out the bend location every time. I also recommend going to JD square and down loading the instruction manual for the model 4..alot of good information there.
Does it have an outlet on the top? Or how fo you mantein turn it on?
Thanks for the comment. There is an adjustable vent on the lower corner of the door. Temperature is maintained by the PID.
Will that kit work on 48 fleetline?
It is called out as 49-54 kit. Im not sure what the difference is with 48. I can check measurements on my car and compare to yours to see.
This guys a trickster,he’s trying to flex his rascist math tricks
Way over complicated, this thing is probably going to get me fired
I actually thought about selling mine for a minute. But once I got use to using it. It is really not that bad. It’s more complicated when not using model 4 specific dies. But not horrible.
Good afternoon May I know the brand of hydraulic pump you have in your set up,how many quarts it is and if it’s electric or battery operated and also the hydraulic ram you are using the specs of both, thanks and more power to u
Thanks for the comment! The ram and the pump are both the units that come with the bender from JD squared. I believe they have everything called out on their website. The pump is electric 110v. 3 qt 4000 psi pump. The Ram is a 10 ton ram. www.jd2.com/hydraulics
Really cool watching you create. From a drawing to physical, really cool to witness.
Thank you for the comment! It is a great feeling to watch a drawing come to life.
I have the same primeweld cut60 plasma cutter what size plug fits the CNC port? I want to use it to bevel pipe I have a mathy dearman 3-8 saddle machine and I bought the cnc plasma torch which doesn't have a switch on it so I need to control the on/off of the torch through the CNC port
If you bought the Primeweld new. It should have came with a plug for the machine that goes on the back. You just have to wire it for your machine.
What is the width of the T-bar?
72" 16" break away
Nice work.......
How much pressure can those pumps put out?
Depends on the pump used. In the first video for the power pack the pump was capable of 4000 psi at 4000 rpm. The second pump had more GPM @ 2000 rpm but 2700 psi at 3000 rpm.
What grit are you using to put a tooth on those new plates before you shoot them? Do you not blast?
The aluminum plates were da sanded with 40 grit. The steel plates were phospate washed only prior to powder coating. The customer specifica;lly asked for no sand blasting for the enviroment the plates are going into. He did not see the value add for the blasting. Yes I do sandblast parts prior to coating when necessary.
@@mlc_fab ok thanks.
Damn. I really wish i wouldve seen this before i ordered this whole kit and spent over 1500. Fml the guy had really good reviews. This really fucks my project progress
I’m hoping my stuff was a fluke. I’m really considering just building my own lowers. I would like to go coil over now. I can make it work. Just shouldn’t had to do this much correcting. If you’re anywhere near Indiana I can help you square it up. I actually have a crossmember drawn . Thinking about making some.
@@mlc_fab I bought the guys entire kit, so maybe the lowers won't be an issue? Luckily I am a machinist at a hotrod shop so I can fix it if I need to. I was just hoping to do the front end kit in a day, so I guess I should probably check everything before I pull the car apart. I really appreciate your generosity, and if you need any cad assistance or manufacturing process aid with developing your own kit I would love to help.
@@wadeduffey3809 I am actually a design engineer for my day job. I design heavy haul semi trailers. But thanks for the offer! The rack mount will have to be changed as well. I just about have that video ready. I think I'm going to be using a mustang bump steer kit to get everything back to where it really should be.
Yup, my kit is just as bad.
@@wadeduffey3809 Sorry to hear that.
What air pressure are you running to the 1lb hopper? I have had no luck with the fluidizatiin on my electron. It either stops putting out powder in the middle of spraying or pushes all the powder out of the gun from to much pressure. You dont seem to be having any of those problems in any of your videos.
I Start with the regulator all the way off. slowly..and I mean slowly turn it up until you start to see air streaks through the powder. this is with the lid off. I have a stirring stick I use to agitate the powder. Should look like slightly simmering pasta sauce. Just the occasional bubble. It takes very little air pressure. It really doesnt even hardly register on the gauge. I do a quick trigger pull to check and back off if I need to. This has worked well for me. I have puked quite a few hoppers of powder onto the floor from too much air pressure.
@@mlc_fab Thanks for the quick reply. Watching your videos is what made me buy the electron setup over other brands. I haven't tried adjusting air pressure with the lid off, I'll give this a try.
It is a great tube notcher , but agree with you that missing flat to hold on , if you need the change the hole saw. Or will be nice to use some pin to prevent shaft from accidentally sliding out, if the notcher is not permanently installed. The pin will actually act like stop the shaft from turning and help to change the saw too. Same system like is used on Harbor Freight notcher .
Thanks for the comment!
I like the one I have. With some fix ups. Works great as a mill table attached to a mini lathe.
I’d like to see some pics of the table on the mini lathe that seems like a cool deal.
@@mlc_fab I have some UA-cam shorts on my channel.

I’ve been watching about 200 videos on making an oven. 16 months into it today.18th. Trying to figure out the propane burner now. Have electricity that still has to finish. But i went into this blind also. I can only spend a few hours a day at my shop. Plus other projects every now and then. I try not to take anything much. Because I want to get my shop together. Fabrication. Went into that blind also. Your advice on the propane helped me out a lot. I do already have 2 100 lbs tanks. Thank goodness I was able to see yours again. Mine is 8x7x6 tall ,depth ,width . Thank you
Thanks for watching! Glad the video could help!
Where do I find them panels?
I got them through a local Semi van trailer Maunfacturer. Wabash calls it duraplate. Vanguard has a version of it as well which is what i used.
I did about the same as you. Bought the vevor table then figured out it is no mill and bought a mill a couple of months lator. Haven't used the vevor table since
I still use it from time to time for something quick and easy if I dont want to change collets.

Going to show the whole build?
Thanks for the comment! Yes, there will be alot fab work and powder coating through out.
Very cool ride!
Thank you! Going to be a fun journey.
How do you have your grounds? I built a new spray booth and now my electron is statically unhappy. I can't run 100 kv like I use to I had to lower it.
My ground is a 6 ga wire ran right through the wall to a 8' -0" x 5/8" ground rod. Roughly about 8-10' from the ground tab on the booth. Then I attached the ground from the the Electron to the same point.

I have a new Electron gun. I’d like to use these hoppers. I bought one from Columbia Coatings. Looks similar to yours. Curious what pump you are using with your one pound hopper. At first glance it didn’t look like the Electron pump would fit into the fitting on the top of the hopper I got. The electron air hose fittings are keyed so they can’t be installed wrong. Not sure where to get more so I can just use the electron hose quick connects with someone else’s pump. Appreciate any info you can provide. Thank you!!
Thanks for the comment. I am using the pump that comes with the system from Electron. I'll leave the link to the hopper in the comments as well as the description. First in finshing also sells all of the quick disconnects.
www.firstinfinishing.net/product-page/1-5lb-hopper
What pump and mounting bracket did you use
Pump came from McMaster-Carr. Seems to be built by wolverine just not labeled as such, part number 6296K27. The pump mount came from One Hydraulics E575522A : MAGNALOY 5.75 PILOT ENG MOUNT SAE A X5.25. Used a love joy coupler to connect the pump to the motor.
What’s the price on these
1800 complete minus fluid and battery.
It's great seeing quality stuff built in America!!!! Props for the Cleatus shirt !!
Thank you!
For those asking where I purchased my system from: www.firstinfinishing.net First in Finishing, Mooresville, In. 317-439-9019 ask to talk to Monte.
May I ask why you went with forced air propane heater instead of a propane 200,000 BTU conventional heater?
The main reason for the forced air heater was because we had one in the shop. When it worked I bought one similiar to it.
Yes Sir could you please help me on your electrical box on your powder coat oven. I would love to build one as well. Thank You Douglas Vance
How can I help you?
You have to have the vents? Couldnt you chimney it outside
I have actually been considering running a chimney to the outside. The only vent I currently have in the oven is in the lower corner of the door. To help with pressure inside the oven.
Can I get a price on the setup that you got and where to order
Thanks for the comment! At the time I bought this it was right at 3000 for the unit with 4 hoppers. I purchased it from “First in Finishing”. Mooresville, Indiana. Talk to Monte McClung. 317-439-9019
Hey Chris you should probably do it like a backup generator version of this 👍
Great job
Thank You!
so your heater has self ignitor built in? im just asking because mine requires me to push in the temp level to start gas flow
Yes it has auto ignite. It had a thermostat and I bypassed it.
The jumping around the frame is getting to me. Just start from one end and work your way down.
Was trying to get all the joints before moving on the the whole thing.
Looks like you need a larger spray both love that green nice job
Thanks for the comment! That is in the works here in another month or so. Going to do some shop re arranging. Since Podwer coating was an after thought.
These are the same tables sold by HF. $169. They also include pucks and clamps.
Wish they had been out when I bought these. But about a year too late. Plus the harbor freight table tops bolt down..where these are welded to the frame. But the tooling looks spot on with a change in color.
i noticed on your other videos you were using a RC-1 ...i have been looking at that but now i see you have moved away from it to a Electron?...any particular reason?
It was more of a buisness decision. I was still quite happy with the RC-1. But decided I wanted to step up to a commercial gun since I was taking on more powder coat work. The RC-1 is a great gun but I really wasnt happy with the hoppers. I tried all the versions of the hoppers had a bout the same success with all. 2-3 coat jobs are so much easier with the Electron. I still use the RC-1 for some jobs where I have a quick powder change. I just felt the investment in the Electron was the right decision for my buisness.
does your 175k Mr haeter have a built in propane shut off valve in it
Are you taking safety shut off? Or just standard shut off?
I was just wondreing if you had to do any mods to the heater itself? I see some vids of people putting a propane shut off in the heater on smaller BTU heaters@@mlc_fab
@@rjwentworth4168 I ran the heater just as it came out of the box for 6 months. Eventually bypassed the thermostat. Then had to replace the gas valve after it gave out. replaced it with a 110v valve I had here.
thank you i'm just getting thing in order to start powder coating. I currently have a 4x5x8 oven I'm building. trying to learn as much as possible before I start@@mlc_fab
how many heat cycles doues the propane tank lasts?
12-16 hours of oven time. With pid if the part was in the oven for 40 minutes. The heater would only be on for roughly 20 minutes of that.
thats nice. do you have the wiring diagram od the PID controller and the relay?@@mlc_fab
