You really got the feeling that the commentators were under strict instructions not to criticize Danica Patrick unless it was so blatantly her fault that it just could not be ignored. And even then they tried to deflect blame a lot of the time. They wanted more female viewers and the networks basically felt that constantly criticizing the only woman driver in the field despite her obvious and often seen shortcomings in stock car racing would severely harm their objectives. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of wrecks she got into where she was actually the innocent victim of someone else's problem. But she did cause a lot more than she was the victim of.
Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with women drivers or women bike riders in motor racing ... so long as they are there on merit. If they are good enough and prove themselves, then great, more power to them. Unfortunately however, while Danica did have an Indy Car win (Motegi), in a lot of ways her marketing and ability to attract big dollar sponsors simply because she's a good looking woman in a sport full of men outweighed her driving talent, especially in stock cars.

I put my car within 1 foot of another in front, and within 3 feet of them next to me. On a busy highway. I was running 120mph plus when I came to stopped traffic around a slight hill/bend. Like I said, you either have "it" or not. I got "it" and Danica doesn''t. That is why she wrecks so much. Things do not slow down for her. She can drive really well, when there are no chances of her being in a bad situation.
In a Truck series crash (Don't remember which one) Jennifer Jo Cobb at Daytona was 4 or 5 lengths back, and they started wrecking. I blink and she's wrecking towards the inside wall. Well, the replay looks like she turned right, then left, and then right again and lost control of the car. Keep in mind the trucks were 4 or 5 car lengths ahead of her.

I saw one instance in this entire compilation where she tried to save the car! Other than that one instance the front wheels stay pointed toward the wall all the way until impact. Watch the other drivers in the last clip. Heck even the guy who is almost completely spun around backwards is actively trying to save it. It’s almost as if she lets go of the wheel and freezes the moment she loses control.

Her job, if someone is next to her, is to hold her line. She tried to squeeze him, despite the fact that he was already right next to the yellow line and was already comitted to making the pass. You can't just assume a line is going to be there/stay there or that the other driver is just gonna let you run them up or down track. Dumbass blocks, taking away people's lines when they have nowhere else to go already. These videos are of her being involved in the wrecks with her car torn up. This doesn't include all the times she caused wrecks by putting multiple drivers in shitty situations. It's 50/50 when she gets out there if she's gonna destroy her car or not. All Nascar drivers changing lanes whole the time, in both examples the other drivers also changes lines and also male drivers don't catch their cars when touched in the back.
@@LiebensteinMovies Admittedly, the second one was Kasey's fault, but the first one was 100% hers. Greg clearly was holding his line on the bottom and she turned straight down into him. Her job, if someone is next to her, is to hold her line. She tried to squeeze him, despite the fact that he was already right next to the yellow line and was already comitted to making the pass. She, for whatever reason, turned straight into him and wrecked the both of them. Sure, the leader gets the line, but she doesn't get to drive all over the racetrack. He's down there, so it's her job to listen to her spotter and hold her line.
