YOU WANNA GO?!
STEP UP
This bird's awesome
Lol I know right?! 😂 Smokey is the best! She always melts my heart with her silliness!
I have spent all morning watching birds and I take my hat off to the people who take the time and patience to make these birds so comfortable and happy ❤❤❤👌
Are you sure? 😂 “step up, step up, you wanna go?!” I think that bird wants to fight! (Of corse, I’m just joking) 🙂👍
Wow! Smokey does a really impressive lazer noise! Amazing!
When she said 'tickle tickle' omg I died 😂😂😂
Casper, my African Grey and I love to watch Smokey.
Hi, I've been a bird lover all my life and i think I'm ready for an African grey in a couple of months! Doing as much research as I can before I get one! And I just want to say your videos have been the best by far on training and the well being of the bird on UA-cam! Smokey is a fantastic bird and has a fantastic owner! Keep the videos coming! Thanks
Shaun Williams Thanks for the positive feedback!
Please rescue only!!! Please find an African grey that's been previously owned! There are SOOOOOOO many that need homes! No more buying!!!! Do the research on the Aftican Grey and Parrot trade and how we are losing them! 85% of parrots are regimes and given up. Smokey is so special because she is so Very much loved!!! It's ALL about understanding the parrot, not vice versa! That's what you see here. A human being who dedicates his heart life and foul to treating his beloved Smokey as if she were his own child that never grows up past 4 years old.
Wow smokey sounded like a ray gun! 0:46
Smokey is adorable! Angel's got a playstand now :D
Samuel hull awesome!
Hi how are you? I have a few questions about Africian gray congo parrots. How to tell if male or female? can the bird still fly a little bit with clipped wings? can they be kept in cages all time time? how to tell if the bird is sick and what to do about it? how to train the bird to talk?
Joel Jose You can't really tell the difference without getting them sexed. Though there are some exceptions. My vet said my grey went though "female puberty". You can't keep them in cages all the time although a cage is good as like a "home base", and they should be put in there when they'd be alone in the house and at night. A cage also has to have toys, though just a few are ok if the bird spends the vast majority of its time out. Birds have to play! And they need interaction. Even if you have multiple birds they need to interact with you. Take them out, let them walk around (supervised!), put them on your shoulder when you do stuff, talk to them throughout the day, describe what you're doing, etc. Clipped birds can still fly a bit so be careful!
Joel Jose Oh and how to tell if they're sick, look for behaviors like puffing up a lot (some of it is normal though), wheezing, runny nose, being very quiet (some birds are generally quiet though), not eating or drinking, etc. And teaching them to talk, just talk to them a lot.
What is he imitating, a laser gun?
Either that or it could be a car alarm.
sounds a lot like a toy laser gun
Star Wars prolly
I thought someone got the Daily Double on Jeopardy.
*She is imitating a laser gun, most likely from a movie she heard her owners watching.
idk why but this would scare me the way it makes the sounds so accurate 😂😂
WingsOfCaleb SMOKEY LAZAR BEAM!!!!!
Esp the mouth clicks I’m like it’s so clear like another persons in the house
Not it him
Yeah the laser beams are making me laugh, I swear he’s like “leave me alone I’m still waking up”
that laser sound is next level holy...
My grey, José, absolutely adores Smokey, he is even starting to want to say "wanna see Smokey?".😊 I could set him in front of the tv and let him watch all day! We love your videos and they have helped me tremendously keeping José happy and healthy, thank you!
Beautiful bird! Smokey is lucky to have such a knowledgeable, attentive and loving human who really understands parrots. They're not for everyone and I wish more people knew what a big commitment is involved. Thank you for posting your videos.
shootin ma lazer beam
Hahaha! She is so funny! I love that laser sound! Smokey is a truly beautiful bird! This parrot is amazing at imitating, and she clearly has the capability to understand you, as when you asked her about the dog, she imitated the dog sound. That’s an intelligent bird! 😂👍🙂
Every Grey I know of LOVES the shower room! Maybe it's the sound of the water falling...
In their ancestral home in Africa, rainfall is measured in feet, not inches. If you want to calm an overexcited Grey down, put him on a perch in the shower room and turn on the water so he can hear it. Works for us! We got a shower perch and finally accustomed our male, 15 years old now, to perch on it, and with the shower on drizzle, he will take his own bath.
The laser gun sound kills me!!!
ADORABLE!! The way he tells you to step up!!! Omg and the kitty and dog sounds!!!! God bless your birdie!!!!!!
Not only the laser sound but he can make a male and female voice!!!!! Wow!!! These birds are fantastic
Smokey is just beautiful. You take such great care of him.Wish I could get one but I'm too old .They live such a long time.Lots of love you and your wonderful bird.
The way he can imitate a sound even to the emphasis of an "s" sound, like here: 1:35 i think thats just incredible! their vocal abilities are incomparable!
Mornings with AG 's are the best. Ours used to spot on at six thirty start calling my dad for coffee. He is dearly missed.
I had an English budgie (he recently passed away) who would talk, laugh, and bark like a dog.. I miss his chatter :( the house is very quiet without him
aw wow I lov smokey as much as I love my jody.well not quite as much as my jody she also loves her head scatching she is so affectionate and is always learning she can now count upto 4. amazing videos keep them all comming I learn a lot from you sean thank you x
2:16 this bird can shoot focken lazers n shit
Smokey is really amazing! She is very smart and beautiful girl! Best wishes from Russia)))
...and I can't even whistle :'(
Jerica Wilson same lmao
Hahaha! Well, to be fair, our vocal cords aren’t designed to imitate the sounds of other creatures, that’s why when most people attempt to sound like a bird, cat, or dog, it’s not quite as accurate as a parrot. But I hope you can learn to whistle some day! It’s a lot of fun!
Its just glorious to see smokey!
I'm in love with Smokey, she's gorgeous!!
The way the camera was set looks like Smokey was being interviewed. XD
I love that AGC can do spot on impressions! My aunt and uncle have one and they'll be in different rooms and Ricky, the bird, will call out "Chris!' in my aunts voice and my uncle will think it's actually her and respond! Its crazy 😁
Beautiful sound.
She talks so clear!! I also Love her sound imitations, such a beautiful, smart girl💛
Smokey is so incredibly lovely! I cry watching her because she's a special one. But I must point out the reason she is so special is because you treat her with so much love and respect! I think very few people understand that all Parrots need tons of space, time, money, energy and not just attention but love & patience! It's like having an eternal 4 year child. I hope people considering a parrot learn from you how much you give to Smokey and that's what makes her so wonderful! You let her be her. Also, I would love to see you promote adoption & rescue instead of buying! Even if you got smokey through a seller, the time is now to stop capturing wild African greys and all parrots! It's time to find loving generous patient homes for the millions of abused abandoned and mistreated parrots out there! Thank you for posting! You're an ideal parrot companion!!! Xo
What a sweetie. You're very good with him.
He’s so awesome!
wow they speak PERFECTLY. It's incredible.
@1:05 Smokey does the "Hotline Bling" beat lol.
Smokey:step up

Hello Sandra👋. How are you doing today?
What a clear talker!! 😀
this bird is amazing and beautiful at the same time
Recently became interested in the African Grey after seeing a few videos of my friend's African Grey Rorschach. Since then I have stumbled upon and watched a few of your videos and I have to say that is a real treat to see how they interact on a day to day basis and the questions you answer are very helpful. Thank you.
She sounds like a robot in the first bit! So cool!
God the way it imitates her and you xD it's so good. And that laser sound !!

Holy crap I love the laser sound. Sounded like a video game
what a beautiful bird.
That laser sound is amazing.
Okay...this just spooked me out!
Smart bird..!!
my African grey, Ruki almost does the same sounds as Smokey's every morning too. like the meowing, the "step up", the "hello" also the sound at 3:10, the whistles, but the sounds are different and it's not in English.
it's just weird how African greys pick up the same sounds despite not realizing it, especially the laser gun sound it's the weirdest lol
Smokey: Now hooman, do my bidding or else.... I'M FIRING MY LASAAAAAAAAAAR!
*tries to imitate laser gun sound*
*fails*
DiiSC *pew pew pew*
I'm an Einstein fan but I like Smokey I'm mad in parrots what's that noise he's imitating lol Smokey from stockport uk xxx
OMG! Is it bad that i love Smokey to a very large extent?
wow ..... amazing.. just could i say..
Awwwwwwwww he is soooo cute
I have an African Grey named Taboo. He is the most amazing sweet bird! We have a lot of fun together. He's spoiled rotten but I get to reap the benefits of my sweet little guy!
Tammy Phillips , I had a grey named Kaboo. Short for peek-a-boo. Did you happen to get him in Massachusets? I had to rehome him because my health wouldn't let me take care of him properly. Broke my heart. He (assuming) was the sweetest bird. Had him for 9 years and he never bit me. Just hoping I guess. I also had a red lored Amazon named Chico. Another sweet bird, never bit me either. He was my first full size parrot. I think he thought he was a dog He would nestle under my chin for scratches.
My African Grey is Taboo. He was originally from Miami. He's about 25 now. I have had him for 3 years now. His previous owner couldn't take care of him. We bonded very quickly and I am positively crazy about him! I am so sorry you had to part with your Grey but I understand. They require a lot of attention. I used to work with all sorts of parrots when I was younger and was amazed at how receptive and eager they all were. That started a love for these beautiful creatures that I don't think I will ever be over! I am extremely grateful that I met my little guy and that we have such a great relationship. He's a huge part of my family. I can't imagine life without him!
Tammy Phillips Hi Tammy, thanks for your reply. My kaboo would be about 30 now. I pray he is happy and loved as I hope for Chico too. I got a work injury on my back in '96 and I couldn't even clean their cages. I miss them.
I love smokey she's sooo smart my bird is getting there thanks a lot for all the help!! And where did you get that nice bird perch she's on?
I'm unsure what type of parrot it was but, my friends bird makes the Windows power-up sound every morning.
She sounds almost exactly like my sister's (male) Congo grey! The tone and intonations, the pauses between words, the choice of words and environmental sounds... Uncanny,,,
Awesome
I'd love to know where smokey learnt the laser sound from?
Most-likely a car alarm
Or watching Jeopardy.
What a beautiful bird! I love the bird stand. Where did you get it? Also, where is your spiral rope perch hanging from? I'd love to change up my bird room. I have an eclectus and African Gray. :)
After watching this I need to teach my African Grey the lightsaber sound effect!!!
Smokey is warming up his vocal cards😂
Oh my gosh... did i just hear Smokey talking in Vietnamese? " Mai oi"...? 😁😆🥰🤩😍
Yes!
That's awesome. I'm learning so much from your videos. My little African Grey just started with *hello*. They're so cool ❤... thank you and keep up with the good work xx
So nice to see a video with these beautiful and intelligent birds with their owners teaching them DECENT words and good treatment, some of these ppl that put videos on here of their birds cursing all the time is SO WRONG! It goes to show their intellect is all, they shouldn't be allowed to even own a bird of such intelligence and to destroy any capabilities they have and narrow it down to ridiculous cuss words! Thank you for sharing this video.
Hello 👋. How are you doing today?
I love this😂😍
Is it bad that i find this very unnerving
Its just when she/he talks it sounds like a robot or Microsoft sam
+Crimson Gott African Greys seem to be very curious about electronic sounds. They pick up on them very quickly and are excellent at reproducing those sounds.
Its cus african greys are known to mimic other birds in the wild and don't really have their own "call". The mix what they hear.
I didn't know birds could use different tones of voice ❤️
That moment your bird tells you to step up
Wow! Hope my buggi turns out like this
Smoky is a frickin laser gun
Guten Morgen, Smokeychen :)
Awwww
he said "step up, I'm John" and a whistle. ... I think he was telling you "come over here John and pick me up."
How did you get her to do that laser sound?
husam khan I think she just heard the car alarm and could repeat it.
"do u want some water ?" lol
Hey! I watched your video about the perch, but I can't remeber what wood you said it was made out of, and is it coated in something? Or does it look that nice naturally? Thanks!!
Dreaded Banter Don't coat it with anything! Any kind of coating will be chewed off by your bird and could potentially harm him. Just be sure the wood is a type that is non-toxic to parrots.
Cheers brother!
Do you have any good insights on how to get my grey to stop making the fire alarm noise or how to diminish his making of an unpleasant noise ?
love that ray gun sound
LASER BEAMSSSS
I like the laser beam noise.
who else thinks at 0:47 she sounds a bit like a lazer tag gun 😂 lmao
hahaha! Did that bird speaks Vietnamese? I heard "Mai Oi" and i cracked up. XD
hi much love to Smokey. my african grey is 3 month how can i teach it and when can i start to treat it? thank you
When he’s fluffed up he looks good
Bro can u help me i have a pair of African grey that recently gave eggs so my question is that after how much time should the babies be separated from parents to train them
