@Subaru Natsuki It is a math/engineering basic principal formulated by the original mathematicians and engineers of ancient times. Do todays use the same laws of physics and math? What do you think idiot? Do a UA-cam search on phi in nature and in engineering, architecture, ancient and modern. Search on phi and art, biology while your at it. From Parthenon and Pyramids to Empire State Building and the White House
You need proof that todays engineers don't use pi or phi...etc. Basic math functions? That question is a really special kind of stupid.

The golden ratio is not 1.6 it closer to 1.618 and consecutive numbers in the Fibonacci sequence do not give the golden ratio however the limit of the sequence is the golden ratio. It's use in art and design is way over stated and forced to appear in many cases.

One thing which helps me in believing in His existence is the notion that, "Behind every organized thing is intelligence, otherwise there is utter chaos".
Like a person going through a jungle comes across a beautiful house and a garden. He will immediately think someone lives here. The organization in the midst of chaos is itself a sign. You do not have to see the person to believe.

Speaking of a symPHOny the golden ratio in the musical scale is the Perfect 5th. We even say Phi in Five like Phive. 1plus the square root of 5 over 2. The significance of this is the fact that the dominant note of the whole scale is the Perfect 5th. It's the second most stable next to the root. This is why we call it a Power Chord. Every single chord contains the the root and 5th it's the basis of every chord except diminished chords. In western music, which is mostly written in Major, we omit the 7th scale degree as a chord because it's diminished and contains the tritone which is also known as the Devils interval. It's the same numbers in the number of spirals in pine cones and pineapples. It's even why we called them Adam and Eve for A-E or the symbol Æ but that's another long story. Let's just say it's the evidence for creation. God.

    Love your video.
    My addition of fun facts:
    1. The ratio is actually an irrational number (like pi for example).
I love the idea that so much, perhaps everything, is based on an irrational number!
    2. The two most popular film formats, past and present, are very close to the Golden Ratio: 35mm (still and film) is 1:1.5, which is actually "rational". And 16:9 in video/film, is 1:1.7 (actually irrational).
    3. There used to be a quirky band called the Fibonaccis. I won't comment on whether they were rational or irrational. They probably won't either.

From the Introduction of the book "Liber Abaci" written by Fibannacci himself:
    1) "I am the son of an official working in Bugia, Algeria". 2) There was a colony of Indian Merchants in that city. 3) "It was there that I was introduced to Indian Mathematics".
Fibonacci further says- " I loved Indian Mathematics to such an extent above all others that I completely devoted myself to it" "I was also introduced to Greek, Arabic & Egyptian Math" "But I found ALL of them, EVEN Pythagoras, to be erroneous compared to Indian Mathematics"
Fibonacci further says: "For this reason, basing my book COMPLETELY on Indian methods and applying myself with greatest attention to it, but not without adding something of my own thought, I forced myself to compose this book. I demonstrated everything with proof"
Finally, Fibonacci says: " In my book, I have published the doctrine of Mathematics completely according to the Method of Indians. I have COMPLETELY adopted the (Mathematical) Method of Indians because it is the MOST effective"
In his book, Fibonacci does NOT refer to #Fibonacci Series as "Fibonacci Series" Rather, he simply calls it "Indian Series". Unlike many other Europeans, Fibonacci was NOT a plagiarist. He clearly mentioned his source and acknowledged his credit to ancient Indians.
Reference: "Liber Abaci", by Fibannacci; (English translation) Published in the scholarly journal Reti Medievali Rivista by Giuseppe Germano, 2013.

Most good designers and artists purposely use this ratio all over in their work, but in spite of that, in my own experience with art composition, this ratio seems to be hard-wired into our DNA. In other words, this ratio just naturally shows up everywhere in art and design, whether intentionally or not.

The Golden Ratio applies among twin primes. Similar ratios are found among the first primes of all sequential differences (novel primes), eg, taking the square root of eleven, the first square prime, and adding the sequence of counting numbers, then dividing by the sequential difference, four, produces a cycling sequence of four mantissas. Four more are found by subtracting the counting numbers. This procedure works alike for all of the finite set of the novel primes, continuing with 29 and 6 (sexy primes), 97 and 8, 127 and 14, 149 and 10, 211 and 12, and so on.

In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for."

There’s a great video (probably multiple videos) here on UA-cam that de-mystify the golden ratio. I can’t remember the details but essentially the golden ratio is just the path of least resistance. It’s the most logical way for groups of cells or objects to evolve. Basically it’s just math. That’s what math IS. It’s the language of the universe. There’s nothing mystical or spiritual about it. It exists everywhere because it WORKS. I am not doing the video justice but I encourage everyone to seek out objective explanations instead of videos by people who only scratch the surface. It’s easy to believe this is proof of intelligent design when you don’t look too closely. But when you really dig into this mathematical principle you’ll find that it’s a lot less elegant than it at first seemed.
Edit: I found it. It’s called “Golden Ratio: Myth or Math?” by BeSmart.

Honestly. I stopped watching at 5:55 and read some comments. I got curious and then divided the total video time of 9:45 by 5:55. You have to convert to seconds because minutes arent base ten. Guess what happened. 585/367 = 1.594 which is approximately 1.6. It's just circumstantial though. The length of the video doesn't depend on how long I watch it and vice versa.

No it doesn't. If you start with fundamental particles that have a ratio of 1 to 1.6, then everything built with them will tend towards that ratio, including the forces that bind and build the universe. If they were 1 to 1.7 then that would be the ratio of all things in our universe. It's also no coincidence then we have this bias built into our perceptions and go on to use it in our own designs, such as construct within the bible. We are immersed and influenced by it from the very beginning of our existence as a species to our own buildings and products. It surrounds us in every natural construct and creature. Cause confused with effect. If anything, it is a counter argument for intelligent design, it speaks to nature taking it's course without design, but rather mirroring the smallest particles in everything as it expands. Hauntingly beautiful to be sure, but evidence of a creator, nope.

@@chrismaggio7879 it’s very simple. If I took something that had proportions equal to the golden ratio, and altered them slightly without telling you, you’d never notice the difference. If you’ve somehow convinced yourself that a certain proportion is beautiful, then that’s on you, but there is no scientific evidence tying this particular proportion to “beauty” (which is obviously not a scientific term). So really, the ratio blows your mind and you love it, and that’s awesome, but it has nothing a priori to do with beauty.

    • @chrismaggio7879
      @chrismaggio7879 Рік тому +1

@@cougar2013 But the simplicity of beauty in numerous features in the natural world fall on or close to the ratio. These items we have accepted as a standard for what we perceive to be beautiful or attractive. Granted the human mind likes what it likes and some are not either matching the golden mean to their aspect of perfect nor inclined to use the mean to create their art, and that is not a fault or problem. Art is subjective. My point is that when something is not proportional or is intentionally misaligned then it tends to be a minor shock to the perception most people have, and that can be a feature of the art created, as art is supposed to evoke emotion, both in the creator and the viewer. You seem angry about this, and I hope I'm wrong. Left brain vs right brain shouldn't cause anger but instead invoke interest. Cheers!

I read a book by Mario Livio years ago called “The Golden Ratio” and it was eye opening. He makes a very strong case against what you and I are discussing. He shows that “number juggling” can be used to make pretty much anything look like it has the golden ratio built in. The ratio itself is about self-similarity, which is something we see in nature, but it’s one of countless patterns.
