Because, I think, there used to be (and still are in a large part of the world) people who teach in the name of a god that allows us only to fit and function in the established western system, a prison as I've come to see it, wherein the only strive is for big money and individual happiness. God hasn't showed him/herself to me yet, and untill that day I am only loyal to mother nature and the few humans not guilty of exploiting others, humans, flora and fauna alike. But those are ideals, I just hope that one day everybody on this earth has the chance to learn something actually valuable like this and become able to create themselves, instead of the neverending dependency on the real devil that is money and it's henchmen. I've had the privilege to learn the basics of this stuff on highschool but I'm very grateful for this man his lessons as well. Greetings from a Dutchman (26) and have a nice day!
Came for the Golden Ratio, stayed for a teacher who actually cares about HIS duty and responsibility to teach his students well. That is golden. Most teachers seem to just dump work on their students with an air of disdain and neglect, and expect their students to do all the work for them.
I live near an art college, my gf took a class and paid cash 1300$ as she is a newer tattoo artist and was hoping to build on her skill set. After 5 weeks she asked for her $ back as the “instructor” never gave instruction and would leave the room for hours at a time, every class... just dialing it in... she was heartbroken. This man is her professor, now. 🙏🙏🙏🙌✌️

I'm not an artist. I'm just going through some stuff and am trying to release the pain. Someone told me that the some of the best art is an expression of pain or hurt, agony, or something along those lines. I should be creating something magnificent right now, with the pain I have, bottled up in me. I need to talk about this, maybe that will help. 2010, day after Christmas was when my 13 year old daughter disappeared. I looked for her for 2 1/2 years when her remains were found outside of town by a lake. It took until last month, over 10 years, to put the man responsible for this behind bars. When we all knew. If you made it this far I'm sorry to disappoint you. I need your prayers.

The golden section is not the ratio of all living thinks but the Fibonacci sequence can be seen in most plant ratios. So it’s better to have some understanding of good proportions then one knows if and why rules can be ignored. Good to to see somebody who should have double the time and money to do an important set of lessons. Teaching should never be rushed. Wow 11 years old now. And now we know none of the temples were temples and none of the churches were really dedicated to idols. The ratio plays an important part in the fabric of this universe. And all the massive temples, churches and municipal buildings are all built with this magic ratio ensuring there place in architecture wonder.
This gentleman puts it across so well. To teach us how old it is and how all the greats used it but now it is no longer taught. I have showed the golden ratio to architects and sculpturers who have never heard of it. Amazing. And we wonder why are building are so ugly.
I had a teacher who explained this here in India. Sir your explanation is amazing your students are blessed to have a teacher like you 🙏 gurudeva only if I could meet you.
2018-07-13, Myron...hope you continue to teach...the public school systems are far too controlled in what is taught, and what is NOT taught. Thank you for your care and dedication. I would LOVE to have a house built that is FILLED with the Golden Ratio!
I'm an architecture student and I'm very inspired with the works of le Corbusier, and how the ancient use the golden mean. I'm fascinated how this golden ratio was almost the design of our universe. Im now associating it on my designs.
Dont' Waste Your Money - by M.Barnstone You may enjoy it. tinyurl [com] /artschools Ryan Rhoads, the guy who introduced me to Myron years ago, was going to a local community-type university - paying out of pocket. He made the choice to study full time at the Studios. A year later he presented his portfolio he developed at the Studios & won a Full Scholarship to Carnegie Mellon Unv. Ryan now designs Yachts. Myron's student have won over $4million in scholarships to the top art universities.
In a lifetime, you may be lucky to have one teacher as gifted as this. It's a virtuoso performance. I was trained as a teacher, but turned out a dud. I'm better staring at a page with a pen in my hand. Myron may have rescued me from that - but no regrets. I'm also good at looking at screens with moving images, and I know that what I'm watching here reinforces an old aphorism: there is not teaching without learning.
Modular - Corbusier - found on the old Swiss 10 franc note and 5 franc coin a system of architecture based on the golden rectangle, the human frame and harmonic proportion. Founded by the neo platonic and Pythagoras. Timaeus.
Phi is a unique number that represents a geometrical condition. When you say it is used here and there, it is hard to upscale it into a matrix of points on buildings without setting up other arbitrary rules about relational patterning, etc.... It is not necessarily the ultimate answer to everything, but is something to be aware of. I have heard of it being a result of consecutively generated reproduction units such as cells exhibiting that relationship.
for the first time i could really know what the golden ratio is... i hated everything about it when i was in college!! never had anyone to explain it like that.. as a designer now i think this truly is going to help me a lot.
Sir, your drawing techinics are very very amazing I never seen this type of teachings as an artist, i pray The Lord Almighty God gives you strength and ablity to enhance to the gift to the art world.
As an older artist, I've never heard of this "Golden Rule" and I'm not very happy about that. I've often wondered how people could get such excellent proportions with only their eye or using some sort of grid. Until now, I was baffled at the genius and perfection of some artwork with part of me asking myself, "Did they trace it"? I'm now looking to find this tool that I've never heard of before today and I've been out of college for 35 years! Hopefully, I've got many more years in me to start putting forth more work of excellence with this information and tool. May his soul rest in peace.
I know essentially zero about this man, this Professor, but after watching him in these videos I think "Why aren't ALL teachers this abrupt, this down-to-earth, this caring, and not incidentally, this brilliant? I still know very little of him nor his work, but I think I'd like to know much more about him.
@RayL1983 Of course it does, painters use it all the time. As do Photographers. Warhol didnt use it because most of his work did not involve his own compositions, he simply used images created by others.
If I'd had you for a teacher in college I never would have changed majors from Architecture. But like you say, they were teaching none of that. No classical principles whatsoever.
+dlwatib agree bro. Our teacher is horrible. She's just like "yeah it's like that. remember it". But she never tells us HOW and WHY it's like that. this guy right here is the real MVP
I was going to music school in Harlem, at CUNY. We had a substitute teacher that day that came in from Juliard, downtown. After class, i was telling her that i'm teaching myself perfect pitch, thru listening exercises. She laughed out loud. She thought i was in La La Land. Fifteen years later i've not only taught my students perfect pitch, i re-wrote the language of music, replacing note-names with individual color-shapes that i heard and saw in my head. Next i'm going teach music with the blind because the Blind-School in New Mexico, happens to be in the next town. This man, Myron Barnstone, IS teaching.

When i was at high school we had the worst art teachers, i spent most of my days sitting outside in trouble. There methods and studies were so boring i could not get interested. Fast forward 30 years and i love art and architecture and spent many hours a day just thinking and viewing it.It's ashame that there was really no people around or places to inspire me at the time.
And when you discuss it in an art exam and have to do some drafts, did 5 different ones in each describing different geometrical patterns, shapes, spirals and the golden ratio, sure you get a "D", but every other one who just did a 1:1 copy (not a draft) got a "B" or better... The teacher was gay (really), I was the only male person in the class and I was always critecising him for his repetitive lectures. The page I made the first class literary described the next 10 "lessons"... Anyway not being in school anymore is soo good. Finally I can do whatever I want and learn whatever I like.

(1.41679 ^ 6.67) x 340.29 - 1 = 3,474.81
Moon's diameter:: 3,474 km.
Cosmic microwave background radiation
2.725 kelvins ,160.4 GHz,
Pi: 3.14
Earth's polar radius: 6,357 km.
((2,725 x 160.4) / 3.14 x (10^4) - (6,357 x 10^-3) = 1,392,000
The diameter of the Sun: 1,392,000 km.
Numbers 3, 6 & 9 - Nikola Tesla
One Parsec = 206265 AU = 3.26 light-years = 3.086 × 10^13 km.
The Numbers: 3, 6 and 9
((3^6) x 9) - (3.086 x (10^3)) -1 = 3,474
The Moon's diameter: 3,474 km.
Now we will use the diameter of the Moon.
Moon's diameter: 3,474 km.
(3.474 + 369 + 1) x (10^2) = 384,400
The term L.D (Lunar Distance) refers to the average distance between the Earth and the Moon, which is 384,400 km.
Moon's diameter: 3,474 km.
((3+6+9) x 3 x 6 x 9) - 9 - 3 + 3,474 = 6,378
Earth's equatorial radius: 6,378 km.

Wow 11 years old now. And now we know none of the temples were temples and none of the churches were really dedicated to idols. The ratio plays an important part in the fabric of this universe. And all the massive temples, churches and municipal buildings are all built with this magic ratio ensuring there place in architecture wonder.
This guy gives me faith in humanity. God bless you sir 🙏
Boy, I would take any class with this teacher!
My lord.
One sentence.
ONE.
and i suddenly understand how to apply the golden ratio better than i ever have after YEARS of art classes.
SAME AS FUCK. OTHER VIDEOS TOOK 3-4 MINUTES JUST TO GET IN THE FIRST HALF. HE DID IT WITH JUST ONE AND HALF OR SO MINUTES!!! OWO
so well explained. no word salad. rich and to the point.
Very well done,mr.Barnstone!Thank you for simple advices to amateur painters.
I wish I had come across a teacher like you coming up. Well, I’ve found you now. Better late than never. 🙏🤝
This gentleman puts it across so well.
To teach us how old it is and how all the greats used it but now it is no longer taught.
I have showed the golden ratio to architects and sculpturers who have never heard of it. Amazing. And we wonder why are building are so ugly.
Damn i wish just one of my teachers cared as much as this guy does about teaching.
I had a teacher who explained this here in India. Sir your explanation is amazing your students are blessed to have a teacher like you 🙏 gurudeva only if I could meet you.
He unfortuantely passed away in 2016.... god bless him.
2018-07-13, Myron...hope you continue to teach...the public school systems are far too controlled in what is taught, and what is NOT taught. Thank you for your care and dedication. I would LOVE to have a house built that is FILLED with the Golden Ratio!
I wish i met this person in my life and I wish him he has a long life.
I watched this video with some movie music from spotify and it was like watching movie. Great man. Wish i could have such a speech ability
damn he left a cliffhanger on there.. I want to see the Egyptian class!
Goddammit, I'd give something to join this course - this man strikes me as a real teacher! The teacher that I wish I would have had back in school.
I'm an architecture student and I'm very inspired with the works of le Corbusier, and how the ancient use the golden mean. I'm fascinated how this golden ratio was almost the design of our universe. Im now associating it on my designs.
Google golden ratio crossed with law of small numbers crossed with Underwood Dudley
You seem smart enough to be salvageable.
Sir, I have watched some of your extraordinary videos and your method of teaching is as solid. Bravo. I wish I would've found you years ago.
S Duncan he's dead now rip
one of my fav videos on youtube and that’s saying a lot
He is great at explaining stuff. Plus, he is a master of the chalk! :D
Dont' Waste Your Money - by M.Barnstone You may enjoy it.

Ryan Rhoads, the guy who introduced me to Myron years ago, was going to a local community-type university - paying out of pocket.
Thank you. Art to resonate at a frequency in line with divinity. To be beauty and sacred. Worth a moral code.
I feel stupid for finding this treasure a "little" late but what surprised me more was the little amount of subscribers that Master has..
Wow. His ability to teach is amazing.
I want to take this course!
Why did it take me so long before discovering this brilliant man who is passionate and knowledgeable about art?
I like this teacher. Straight-up on the side of the students.
Excellent. I think this guy is super. Teaching methods that rival the best .
There is no Golden Rule. It is nonsense.
wow, i am still watching. quite captivating
Thank you , you are so great....... love your teaching and delivery .
I know essentially zero about this man, this Professor, but after watching him in these videos I think "Why aren't ALL teachers this abrupt, this down-to-earth, this caring, and not incidentally, this brilliant? I still know very little of him nor his work, but I think I'd like to know much more about him.
I have mechanical engineering MMC exam in 2 hours and instead of cramming I'm watching this. GODAMMIT ME
@RayL1983
Of course it does, painters use it all the time. As do Photographers.
Warhol didnt use it because most of his work did not involve his own compositions, he simply used images created by others.
So deep. Feeling very inspired.
Very impressive, I'm glad there is still talented people teaching this subject
If I'd had you for a teacher in college I never would have changed majors from Architecture. But like you say, they were teaching none of that. No classical principles whatsoever.
dlwatib University of Miami teaches this.
This man, Myron Barnstone, IS teaching.
thank you knob end
I love his passion! It is inspirational
A true teacher. So sacred.

Finally. Quality education. Thank you so much! I would very much like to know where your classes are held.
Can't believe I stayed till the end. Now that's a good teacher.
God bless your heart for making this video..
Love your attitude of teaching
What I wouldn't have given to have a teacher like this when I was in high school!!!! My whole life would have been on another course....
... classic appearance and delivery of my idea of a TEACHER
Wow! U are awesome! Thank you. 🙏🏾
I can tell you are a fantastic teacher. You remind me of a high school teacher I absorbed incredible amounts of invaluable information. Im a graphic designer specializing in branding, and I would happily pay for your full lecture on the golden section, as well as other drawing related topics I’m sure. Do you sell any material?
He's passed away. There should be a link in the description of the video or just search his name and you can find him.
This lesson is pure gold
What a pleasure it may have been to learn under him.
you are amazing..I wish I had the honour to be your student in person..but this is also great. please keep uploading for students like me who sit thousands of miles away. thank you again
What an excellent teacher. Lucky students.
Wow, so much good information and an eye opening for aspiring artists. Great job, thanks for the video.
I wish to continue studying with you and take this course twice! Love your lecture, wanted to drop a comment! :)
