Ne Obliviscaris is amazing. You're gonna love them.
In case you're not aware, they're from Australia. I mention that because my favorite song is Equus from their newest album. It's dedicated to the lives lost (animal/human) from the Australian fires a couple years ago. The live video is a MUST!
This was filmed in Melbourne, which is NeO's home town (and also my home town), so that's why the crowd was particularly into it.
Since you asked who these guys are, the drummer in this video is Dan Presland, but sadly he has now left the band. The new drummer is Kevin Paradis, who is also great. The guitarist whose solos impressed you is Bejamin Baret, and the bass player is Martino Garattoni. Kevin and Benji are both French, and Martino is Italian, so the band is quite international these days considering it started with all Australians. The two vocalists are Mark "Xenoyr" Campbell on harsh vocals, and the cleans and violin is Tim Charles. The other guitarist is Matt Klavins.
Being a prog band, NeO's songs are very long. A lot of their live shows are only a few songs because each one is 10-20 mins long.
I took my daughter (24) to see them in Sept in Sydney. She wasn’t sure what to expect but it blew her noodle and she said it was the best gig she’d been to. I had to agree.
I almost requested them a couple months ago. Really happy to see NeO down the rabbit hole.
NeO is one of our times most progressive black metal band, just insanely good.
It's prog metal, but not black metal. I'm not trying to sound dickish ahahaha, just correcting.
The bass is definitely loud in this mix. Not that I'm complaining.

i'm glad that now you'll go see them live,i saw them some months ago and it was amazing. the bassist you like is Italian from the band ancient bards,you reacted to them some time ago.
my favorite group, with the ocean collective :) every song from them is great, my personal favourite tracks are Of Petrichor Weaves Black Noise, Equus, Graal, Eyrie, As Icicles Fall, hell whatever i love them all!
I strongly suggest you to check out the lyrics too, they're beautiful. I'm so jealous you get to see them live!
Most of their songs are long unless its part 1 of 2 sort of thing. I would suggest Equus and Graal off of their latest album. They will likely play both as well as Plague Flowers...Enjoy the show! You will both love them.
