Awesome, this soup is very popular in Bulgaria, a classic. We add some grated fresh tomatoes and lots of spring onions (the last 10 min of cooking) and we usually garnish it with feta cheese and/or plane yogurt and/or walnuts.
I love the taste. I put it in Ramen with peas, making Ramen a bit nutritious. I drink it just like tea and eat the leaves like cooked spinach. Don't be scared of the sting, drop it in hot water and the sting is gone in seconds. If you let the dry leaves sit for a few days the sting dries up and you can eat it raw, but it's a papery texture, so not as fun to eat. I just this morning got a wasp sting and my hand was throbbing. I could see the little red spot on my palm, and it really stung. I put nettle tea (in my fridge) on the spot - just a half teaspoon or so, and within seconds the sting was gone - and 20 minutes later I can't see the spot! How cool is that? A stinging nettle can relieve wasp stings! Nature is awesome...thank you God for being so creative as we discover all these things with wonder...
Thanks so much for your videos, they're an inspiration. I first learned this recipe from you two years ago and now make it all of the time, my friends love it. Your videos are very well made, concise and well paced, extremely relaxing. Thanks again and I hope you find time to make some more soon.
My kind of food - going to try this. I changed a pile of building rubble into a garden last year and it now has a really healthy nettle patch (deliberate). I have chronic bronchitis and nettles are great for my chest. I'll try this as well as nettle tea. Thanks for a new idea.
vek0 - Doing the ginger tea thing already for a couple of years now. It helps quite a lot -especially at night. Thanks for taking the time to reply! :)
nettles are very nutritious. they are excellent for those who need to lower their blood sugars due to diabetes and good for cleansing out the toxins in your kidneys and liver. Sadly I can't eat them because I am allergic to them. Mega bummer.
Hello, I like your videos, I do not speak English unfortunately, but I would like you to tell me if the containers for the oil are of your manufacture. And if so, could you make a video on this subject? Thank you very much for all these recipes.
Thanks, glad you liked. The containers can be found on internet if you search for : "PET Preform" or "geocaching container ". The ones I use are around 40ml which is good for one meal.
Hi Dan, I get stung sometimes. I have noticed stems have less stinging qualities than the leaves and I make sure to avoid them by picking them by the stem.
In general the reverse side of the leaves is much less stingy. With some experience one can gather kilograms of nettle with bare hands and not get stung.
Do what he did. Grab the stalk and make sure the leaves dont touch your sensitive skin. The other thing is to make contact only with the thickest skin you have on your fingers as the thicker skin will give you enough protection. Pick only young nettles as the older stalks will be harder to break. Proceed with caution.

Ooof immma have to try that when the nettles come back. How does one best pick those without stinging yourself?
Stems seems to have less stinging qualities than the leaves. Try picking them by the stem and see if that works.
