    I've had 3 natural labor and deliveries. The first 2 at home and the last one at a hospital. My first two were very different versus my last one and I feel like the environment did it. I know that different countries have different rules on hospital births. Where I am, they forced me to be strapped up to the machines and stay put. I was always watched and bothered. And due to the heavy watch, machines, bright lights, feeling like I can't let my guard down... my final baby was my most painful baby. I was so stressed out that my labor quit at 8cm. Mind you, I natural birth like a champ. Hospital was absolutely the cause of my stress which turned into pain. So listen to this youtuber and her advice. Stay somewhere safe for your spirit and soul for your birth.

      Wow, your story is very interesting. Just goes to show how much the hospital environment messes with the natural processes of labour. Thank you for sharing, and I'm sorry you had such a tricky experience for your third.

      I chose home birth at the tender age of 15. I thought you HAD to go to hospital and HAD to get pain medicine. So I decided I wasn't going to have children. Then I learned that women were still birthing at home and knew in my heart that is what I needed to do.
      Years later, after I had been married about a year, I convinced my husband that home birth was what I needed to do. We also watched the business of being born together and that cemented the decision to choose home. We have had three children, all at home, all uncomplicated, all beautiful and straightforward and after all of them I looked up at my midwife and said " I could do that again!"
      I am due to deliver baby #4 any minute and I have found myself slipping into uncertainty and anxiety about the process of delivering another child. It's great to get reminders and support from other women even though I am quite experienced! Thank you!

      i had in hospital my first one...even though in my country they have natural wards with jecuzzies and balls and traps and stools and so forth in the hospital - the beside manner of the at hospital midwives sucked; except for one...but the shifts were constantly rotating so i didnt have a constant support and i HATED THEM CHECKING me because other than the one midwife (who was american) all the other midwives checks hurt!...after reading/listing on audible to 'Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth' i found out why my dialation slowed down so much once i got to the hospital...even though it was dimned lighting and soft music...i wasnt comfortable with my doula, my father had just landed in the country from america and came straight to the hospital and my husband were all in the room with other midwives popping in and out ...but it was ALL THE TALKING!!!! they wouldnt shut up and i just wanted to listen to my hypnobirthing tracks - and my doula got offended at me for not doing HER breathing methods...on top of which - no one ever told me throwing up may happen during childbirth which then broke all my concentration and the whole thing ended up taking 27 hours...i am staying home for my second baby with a personal midwife (the one i like from the hospital) too attend me but leave me alone in the tub unless called for!!!! - because i feel if i woudnt have gone to the hospital with the added stress of the taxi, and people, and negative clashing energy i was recieving from my doula ...it would have been much much faster!!! and more surrendered to the power of the rushes!

      Elisheva-Renanah Grant yes! I actually just used it again on June 30th, my little one just turned 2 months old. This experience was even better than the one before. I spent one hour at the hospital, arrived at 6cm dilated and 45 mins later I was at a 10 and pushed twice and she was out.
      You really just have to trust in yourself and the process, I know at times it’s hard to stay in hypnosis but just put those earbuds in and don’t take them out. Also, listen to whatever tracks make you feel good, for example, on your birthing day there are a set of tracks you’re supposed to listen to in order and I only listened to one track (Easy first stage) because it made me feel good. When it was time to push, I restarted the track, I never used the pushing baby out track.
      When you hit the last moments of labor and your birthing waves are super close together and pretty intense just remember that you can do anything for one minute so just relax and ride them out. The more relaxed you are, the faster and easier the labor will go. Know that they will peak and then come back down, tensing up or screaming will never help you.
      I didn’t get an IV so I was able to freely move around, I walked around and bounced on the birthing ball which I swear helped both of my hypnobabies labors progress fast. Get on that ball and don’t worry about anyone around you, just focus and you got this.
      My husband helped keep me in hypnosis by repeating certain words or phrases, he’d also rub my lower back which felt really nice and it just felt comforting that he was there with me and I didn’t feel alone. So get your birthing partner in on it all.
      Lastly I’ll say that the visualize your birth track is pretty powerful, use it to your advantage, listen to it a million times and see your labor as quick, comfortable and exciting. You don’t have to focus on every detail. Just focus on the main parts that are important to you. I visualized my birth as a morning labor that lasted about 5 hours and was very comfortable. And that’s exactly what I got with both of my hypnobabies babies.
      Your body and baby know what to do, you just have to relax and let them do it. I know, easier said than done but you’ll do great! Use the fear clearing track a lot also if your afraid from your first birth (my 1st birth was a non hypnobabies birth and it was awful, worst day of my life really ) so I was pretty nervous for my second baby but I found hypnobabies and I’m so happy I did, real game changer.

    I agree about the hospital environment effecting your labor. I didn’t do a natural labor. However, the minute I stepped foot into the room I got a rush of anxiety where I felt like I couldn’t sit down or calm myself for a while. Luckily I did have a fast and smooth delivery still, but this time around I really want to go natural from home

    I think it's great when women can birth naturally and successfully. I was hopeful with my first for a water birth. But sadly none of my plans worked out and I had a very traumatic labor and delivery. Even after he came out I lost 1 liter of blood and had a 3rd degree tear. He was a 9 pounder and stayed perfectly healthy the whole time. 32 hour labor and 3 hours of intense pushing. And I was 5'2 and 114 lbs before pregnancy. Just to give you a visual of my size. At first, while preparing for labor , I'll admit I was getting a little too judgemental on how women birthed. Because I thought anyone could do a natural birth. And then I went thru what I did and hind sight, I should have had a c section. Afterwards i couldn't walk and I passed out when I tried to stand up; I was in pain for months . I have learned that everyone is different. Whatever is best should be done, but nothing unecessary should be pushed.

    I liked everything you said about preparing for birth. All except the plant based diet. I think this is a fallacy and it is much healthier to eat an animal food based diet. Animal foods are proven to be more bioavailable, animal proteins are easier to be absorbed. Developing fetal brains needs cholesterol and healthy saturated fats to grow. We evolved eating meat and organs of animals and this is what I have studied to believe is the healthiest diet.
    Good for you everything turned out healthy though and thanks for your positive encouragement!

    • @arnolddesouza5560
      @arnolddesouza5560 3 роки тому +1

      This is the position of The American Dietetic Association (largest in the world): "appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Well-planned vegetarian diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence, and for athletes." Bioavailability of nutrients varies substantially between foods, cooking methods, growing methods. One also has to consider harmful components in foods, POPs, dioxins, heavy metals, hormones...animal foods are the most toxic because of bioaccumulation and biomagnification, women can "detox" these toxins by passing them on to newborns through breastfeeding. All protein originates in plants animals just recycle them, and from a biochemical standpoint the body uses amino acids not "protein", all plants have all amino acids in different ratios. Cholesterol is not a essential nutrient, meaning the body produces all it needs, saturated fat is not required in the diet, but essential fats are EPA-DHA and their precursors. We evolved eating what was available in a specific geographical region as opportunistic eaters. Analyzing fossilized feces reveals our ancestors ate upwards of 100g of fiber per day, only plants have fiber. Life expectancy was also under 25, not long enough to die from health disease. Basing decisions solely on what was done in the past even for a long time, is an appeal to tradition a logical fallacy. The pursuit of what is effective, and provides the best results and outcomes with our current level of knowledge is what should be considered.

      @@arnolddesouza5560 are you a vegan or vegetarian? I've gone back and forth over the last 2 years as to what humans shouldbe living off of. Healthy free-range hormone free meats and organic spray free fruit an veg so both as close to natural as possible or excluding meat or both meat an animal products? But I keep thinking my ancestors had to see eggs as a prized food source when found surly?

    • @arnolddesouza5560
      @arnolddesouza5560 3 роки тому

      @@shinebrightandbethelight Good question. Our ancestors were opportunistic eaters, and diets varied from region to region. They did not care about survival beyond passing on their genes before dying, usually around age 25. Doing something because it has been done in the past would be a logical fallacy. What I wish more people would do is consider the totality of evidence before making decisions about what to eat, but that takes time and attention. The simple fact is that there is no nutrient you need in flesh or animal products that you cannot find in plants (B12 is made by microorganisms.) I am a vegan because I'm opposed to the domination and enslavement of sentient beings, and follow a whole foods plant-based diet. Visit NutritionFacts.org they summarize most of the peer reviewed scientific literature published each year into bite size videos.

    • @stargazerlily7016
      @stargazerlily7016 Рік тому

      @@shinebrightandbethelight I think we can look at various blue zones in the world (people live on average at least10years longer than the rest of the population). While there are many blue zones in the world with varying diets, the only blue zone in the United States is in Loma Linda California. There, a majority of those studied are on plant/vegetarian/vegan diets.
      When it comes to meat unfortunately, a lot has changed in the past 1000 years, in terms of the progression of disease among animals etc. So, meat that is now is not the same as meat that was then, even if free range and hormone free.

In the 3rd, they fixed the mess they made in the first two and then she had 3 home births after that without complications, despite the "bony obstruction" that was their excuse for the first c section.

    haha, I laughed when you mentioned the plant based diet and the "professional advice" you get on it. Me and my husband have our own little private giggles when we get our lectures. I haven't vomited or had any morning sickness and I fully believe its because I'm not injesting the toxins from animal foods. (My mum had TERRIBLE morning sickness for all 4 of her children). Thanks for sharing your great tips!

      Not all harm is immediately visible. I would highly encourage doing some further research. Here is a short except from Dr. Michael Greger of nutritionfacts.org to get started if you would like: "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most women’s bodies in the United States are contaminated with heavy metals, toxic solvents, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, fire retardants, chemicals from plastics, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and banned pesticides. In many cases, 99 to 100 percent of the women were found to have detectable levels of these pollutants in their bloodstreams. Pregnant women were found to harbor, on average, up to 50 different chemicals, and researchers found detectable DDT residues in 95 percent of umbilical cord samples from women who had recently given birth-and this is now decades after the pesticide was banned. Which foods seem to contribute the most heavy metals and other pollutants? The number-one source of arsenic was poultry among preschoolers and, for their parents, tuna. The top source for lead? Dairy. For mercury? Seafood." He goes on to say: "If women want to clean up their diets before conception, results suggest that within a year of stopping fish consumption, we can detox nearly 99 percent of mercury. Unfortunately, other industrial pollutants in fish can take longer: The half-lives for certain dioxins, PCBs, and DDT by-products found in fish are as long as ten years." For full text: nutritionfacts.org/topics/pregnancy Good luck.

It went well it wasn't as painful as I thought I just didn't like the midwives checking me to me it made me feel like my labor would stall or get more intense or painful .. So .. Second birth decided unassisted early on .. It was somewhat peaceful but I experienced back labor and wasn't prepared that I just couldn't get into a good state and to be honest this still worries me now 26 weeks pregnant with my third .. Anyone know any tips for back labor ?

    Love all the advice. But just thought it was a bit unfair to say that eating meat is a silly advice. We have to remember that our grandparents and great greatparents ate meat, were strong and full of vitality, and lived to ripe old ages. Some of the healthiest people across the world consume meat. Genetics can also play a role in diet. Based on ethnic groups and regions, some benefit more than others to consuming or not consuming meat. It is not fair to try and assume that veganism is the holy grail of good nutrition. It is more fair to say that as long as you are eating a whole, balanced, natural and organic diet that is what matters, meat eater or not.

      Hi! Really glad you enjoyed the advice. Re: the meat thing - unfortunately, the meat that is produced today is a far cry from what our ancestors ate. Eating meat will make your labor more painful.
      This is just my thought, but the drug pitocin is made of cow hormones. Everybody knows how much more painful labor is with pitocin.
      Of course you have a choice.
      I'd rather have a easy labor and be happy no animals suffered because of me.

      The meat our grandparents ate was highly superior to the meat we have available now. Just give your body what it wants. I am a seasonal vegetarian. When it's warm outside I crave lots of produce. When it's cold in crave heavier food. When I'm pregnant, I eat what appeals to me. Some weeks it's completely vegan, other weeks I want fish more than air. I think every approach to diet has it's benefits and risks. I have learned enough to do what works for me and my family and not get too passionate about my food choices being superior to others.

    "Your body is a wonderful machine that knows how to give birth" yeah and that's why maternity deaths have risen- oh wait no it's the opposite. Dying in childbirth Use to be so common it radically lowered women's life expectancy. (for a while it was doctors fault a lot of the time, such is the start of pretty much all medical fields sadly) It's still one of the riskiest things you can do as a woman
    I get the point, this really shouldn't be such a stressful situation that it so often is now and I really agree with you about the general language, you can be informative and realistic without so much negativity in tone
    but you just go too far with it and into just ignorance with statements like that

    • @BirdyMum
      @BirdyMum 3 роки тому +4

      to be fair though, we are now having far higher incidences of gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and oversized babies partly due to poor diet. The standard western diet these days causes extra complications, and if you look into the studies the oversized babies (a common occurence now due to sugar and refined carbohydrates during pregnancy) can mean that the cranium size is actually increasing quicker than women's pelvises can adapt. We're eating ourselves to increased maternal deaths and medically necessary c sections. No joke, the science is out there, and it's terrifying.
      A natural, wholefoods heavy diet definitely helps. Women are also gaining on average far more body fat than they once did, and since labour is a marathon, an unfit (which isn't always correlated with BMI), poorly noursihed woman is going to experience more physical stress, and potentially poorer mental health. They can fatigue quicker. You also need to consider that there are higher maternal deaths in the Black and hispanic community, which is partly due to inherent racism, less medical care, but also as they have higher incidences naturally of pre-eclampsia, diabetes and for some reason higher chances of bleeding out. This is in stark contrast to the 50s where so many women had massive families at home but had 6, 7 or 8 pound babies with a steady diet of protein, grains and veg. Childbirth should be easier than it often is.
