With these glitches, Link just became the most overpowered superhero ever. He can hover with bomb/chu hovering. He can fly with the swimming on land glitch. He can use ISG to decimate whoever's standing in front of him without even trying. He can stop time using the bottle glitch. He can teleport using the song of soaring wrong warps. He can run faster than a speeding bullet bill using the bunny hood glitch. He can blind opponents using the dark fog glitch. He can summon super strength and size with the fierce deity link glitch. He can survive the freakin' apocalypse just by staring it down in a telescope. Guys, I think we've just officially confirmed that Link is, in fact, Chuck Norris.

You can use the sword beams, you just need to be Z-targeting. The reason a lot of people don't know this is that when you are in the boss room (the only normal place to use the mask), you are usually already Z-targeting anyway.
I'm playing through it rn, and it's not that bad. The only things really annoying so far was the miniboss and the fact that I accidentally clipped out of bounds and have to reload my save to get out >:(
A+Start If you perform the 4th-day glitch after beating all 4 temples, you can still beat the game. Just go to Clock Tower as usual, the giants will stop the moon. Except that, when you get to the moon, the sky in the moon will have a purple hue (N64 version).
Great episode! You can tell that a lot of research went into the making of this video. Great job! (I hope you feature more 8 and 16 bit games in the future.)
Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion in the fandom, but this game is more of a masterpiece than BOTW. No other game invokes the same feeling of despair and abject hopelessness that Majora’s Mask does, it’s incredibly poignant and stands more to me than the exploration in BOTW.
Thank you. Finally I know I'm not alone. I cannot stand botw. It's a mockery of true Zelda games and means nothing to the franchise at all. Terrible graphics for a modern game, and it has no heart whatsoever. Majoras mask and ocarina of time both are top tier Zelda experiences. But botw is basically a big giant middle finger to us original fans.

I used to hate Ark because I thought it was dumb, the graphics were horrible, and anything it did Minecraft would do better. After my girlfriend convinced me to try Ark my opinions on it changed alot, sure Minecraft was easier and you could easily get better and better items, but Ark is more of a challenge because at any moment you can get killed by a Raptor or a rex so you have to work quickly and you can't run around recklessly like in minecraft. But Ark has way more bugs that you will definitely run into than Minecraft. What I'm saying is you should atleast try the game before saying that it is horrible. If you have already played it and still hate it then ok, but atleast you would have given it a chance.
Majora's Mask's exploration is about exploring the daily routines, hopes, and fears of the characters to try to find a way to save them. BotW's exploration is about slowly climbing generic mountains to find rupees or a korok seed
Wait a minute! I'm like 99% sure you can use Sword Beam's with the Fierce Deity Glitch, but if I remember correctly, you just have to target an enemy. (It is, however, pointless, as the game doesn't have a programmed damage value for enemies outside of bosses, and therefore, does 0 damage) Other than this minor thing, great video as always!
As Fierce Deity Link can normally only be used in boss rooms, no other enemies should be programmed to interact with the sword beams he can shoot. However, there are a few that are, though they do not display the special hit graphics. Stalchildren are instantly killed by it. The Dinolfos mini-boss takes damage from it. Gekko takes damage from it, but not when it is on top of Snapper. Wizzrobes are not harmed by it. However, shooting the beam at it while it's appearing will make them disappear, similar to Igos' henchmen. The Big Poe within the Bottom of the Well and in the Final Day Grave takes damage from it, but only when it's not spinning towards the player. Igos du Ikana's henchmen do not take damage from it, but instead jump backwards and shield themselves (as if they were being attacked at close-range). Skull Kid on the Clock Tower will treat it like any other attack (arrows, bombs, etc.), making the hit sound effect, shaking his head, and saying "That won't do you any good." on the third hit. The Gerudo Guards throughout the Pirate's Fortress will be stunned by it, for a shorter period of time than usual. The Cursed Spider Man will get pulled to the ground and sway back and forth when hit in the front. If he's hit from behind, the beam stuns him. Pamela's Father is also stunned by it. In addition, the beams can hit Gossip Stones and slice through signs.
I've been rewatching a bunch of your videos recently. I feel old realising this video is 7 years old. I remember checking every day for the new episode of 12 days of glitchmas, after school.
It should be interesting trying to do all of these in the remake. I guess they intentionally programmed old glitches into Oot3D "to provide an authentic experience" or something. Hopefully they do that again.

If OoT3D is anything to go by, MM3D will have some bugs fixed, some bugs kept and some bugs brand new from the original version. You'll have to try everything you can!

When I was a kid, I notice that Link runs fast at the Milk Bar after perfoming with the masks, I used to think that he runs fast because he was nervous to play in front of some people, lol
My buddy has a file on my copy of Majora's Mask and he turned it on to play, one day. This time, however, both of our save files were magically gone, so Matt started a new one. Instantly, we could tell it was glitched out. The first scene had different music - kind of a garbled mix of the battle theme with the opening music. The sprites for Link's face were all misshapen and looked like a skull. After the cutscene, Link had no hearts - not even heart containers. We were laughing a lot at this point and then paused as soon as we could to see if anything else was different. Each page had duplicated to the item page and every slot was an Ocarina of Time. So, naturally, we tried to make the glitch even worse by giving the Ocarina to the Happy Mask salesman. He turned us back into a Hylian like normal, but we suddenly had no sword and there was no way to get one so we couldn't leave Clock Town. This is when it got even funnier, as Link began to randomly die every so often, seemingly just having a heart attack because there were no heart containers. We messed around a while longer then just turned off the system and turned it back on again and our old files were both back. Weird and hilarious.

This was an interesting video, but about the milk bar glitch, you don't need to use the bunny hood to make Link move fast, sometimes (but not always) when you talk to the Zora to play the songs, after you do that and get boo'ed/heckled by the trope leader, Link will sometimes move quickly even without the bunny hood on. Also in the 64 version only, you can continuously get the trope leaders mask every time you reset time. (Also I love how the narrator of this video says the word “bottle”)😎
Manobaru Centre is the European way of spelling that word. -er vs. -re gets switched frequently, and many words with a "z" have "s" used instead. Neither is incorrect, just alternative spelling. =]

The 4th Day glitch has me curious. Based on the effects, it seems like it might have set the game to either A) an actual 4th day, which has no schedule for the NPCs, thus they dont exist or B) Set the days remaining to the maximum amount possible, which would be a value they never expected you to reach. i wonder if, in the event of B, would waiting long enough actually allow you to reach the 1st day and continue playing?

I think that this is similar to the pomeg glitch in Pokemon R/Z. When you give a pomeg berry to a pokemon with 1 hp, his hp will reset to -65536 (or something like that). Because there is no negative number for the HP, this equals to the maximum possible number for any integer counter. Here, in Majora's Mask, something similar happens. When you the go lower than 0 days, the game reset the days to the maximum possible number (I don't know what is the maximum number for a integer in N64 so I don't know). Sorry if there are some spelling mistakes, my native language is Spanish.
I experienced a crazy glitch once when I was fighting the final boss, Majora's Wrath. It latched onto me with one of its tentacles and threw me across the map, but because of the angle I was standing at, it actually threw me on top of this pillar thing above the door that you first enter in! I was stuck up there and Majora couldn't damage me and it was awesome lol I wish I had recording material at the time it happened cuz I doubt I'll ever get it to happen again; pure crazy luck. - PracticingNudist

When link run faster with the bunny hood glitch it reminds me of Kafie the kid with the keaton mask on the second day when you can go inside his house he comes through the door and run really fast up all the stairs he has lmao :D
For everyone who has fierce deity’s mask on majoras mask 3D there is a way to put it on and take it off To do it have fierce deity’s mask on y or x and have another mask on y or x use the other mask and go into pictobox view after that go into the item’s or mask’s menu and switch the two masks around on y and x after that you should see that you can put the mask on but if you try it won’t work because you have to L target and then put on the mask but you have to do it very quickly Enjoy being a deity
there's actually another way to turn into fierce deity outside boss fights that i find easier to pull off, i've done it multiple times. you use the epona glitch with the owl statue by milk road, so that you can use c button items while on epona. make sure you have enough ruppees for the horse race before doing so however. go and talk to the gorman brother and enter the race, as soon as you enter press the c button that you have the fierce deity mask assigned to and you should turn into him. he'll fire an arrow and you'll hear a noise going off as well, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING WHILE LIKE THIS doing so will crash the game. just wait for the brothers to finish the race and refuse another one. tada you're fierce deity link.
I’m finally playing this game for the first time! I must say it’s a little confusing for me as I was born in 97 and n64 wasn’t the #1 console in my house at the time (snes rocks lmao) BUT all these glitches seem like they could help me on my second play thru ;) thanks friend
+iamaninsomniac There's a way to do the Fourth Day glitch in the 3DS version somehow, and the Fierce Deity Glitch is a lot easier to pull off in the 3DS version. To do it, have the hookshot, and light arrows assigned to the x, and y buttons (it doesn't matter which.) Now, go into First person. Open up the masks menu, and equip the Fierce Deity mask over which ever item. Finally, cancel out of first person mode, while at the same time, press the button for the Fierce Deity Mask. If you did it correctly, Link will put on the Fierce Deity mask. If it doesn't work, try leaving the area, and coming back.

Awesome video!!! Theres a glitch that ive been using since childhood i noticed is missing from it though, and i hate to be that guy, but its so practical, useful and easy i had to bring it up. In ikana canyon where sakkons hideout is, if you equip the bunny hood and roll in the gap of the stone door to the left, (yes i know this sounds impossible) you can actually phase through the stone door crack and enter sakkons hideout early. This is especially useful if used on the 3rd day before night time because it allows you to obtain all the spoils from the kafei/anju questline in one go if executed correctly. Also, while in the hideout, if you step on the switch to begin playing as kafei, you can hit start right away and equip the fierce deity mask onto your bunnyhood c button and then put it on and traverse the over world with it that way! As always though awesome videos, especially this one considering i was able to learn new ways to break my favorite game ever. ;)

I remember when I accidentally performed the fourth day glitch at the Goron Racetrack. The timer ended right as I hit the finish line so the game didn't end and instead I got the baby talking to me at the end of the race. He finished his thing and I stumbled back to Termina Field in confusion before the game crashed.
That whole video, even the Fourth Day Glitch, and not a single mention of the Ben Drowned Creepypasta? I don't know whether to be impressed or disappointed.

Great video! A note: at 16:34, you don't need to be wearing the bunny hood to activate the glitch. You just need to play as human Link last, then, after you get the new mask, you'll have super speed. :)
Wow! Some really interesting glitches there. Well done! I just got this game for my 3DS, and I'm really enjoying it! Nintendo really improved this version. I am also keeping track of the Bombers Notebook (which I wasn't in the N64 version) which makes the game so much more enjoyable. Anyways, excellent job with this video. I hope to see future Zelda glitching videos.
Majora's Mask (my favorite Zelda game) turned 20-years old today. I have soo many fascinating memories playing and watching my older brother play this game in the basement. It was only today that I discovered that our birthdays are very close to each other. Hopefully it comes to Switch someday.
I had never played Zelda, up until the time the 3DS remake for Ocarina came out. I started getting really into the series, and tried to find new, and interesting things that no one had found before in the game. I had heard of Majora's Mask, but I had never played until the 3DS remake was released. I can now say without a doubt, it is one of the best Zelda games ever made, and playing it o the New 3DS XL is probably the best way to experience this game.

Also the sword beams don't work against non-bosses. I use the Fierce Diety mask a lot and it doesn't work

***** Actually, your sword should have damaged them, the only things that interact with the sword beams are bosses and strangely the Gossip Stones.

When I was a kid, I notice that Link runs fast at the Milk Bar after perfoming with the masks, I used to think that he runs fast because he was nervous to play in front of some people, lol
My buddy has a file on my copy of Majora's Mask and he turned it on to play, one day. This time, however, both of our save files were magically gone, so Matt started a new one. Instantly, we could tell it was glitched out. The first scene had different music - kind of a garbled mix of the battle theme with the opening music. The sprites for Link's face were all misshapen and looked like a skull. After the cutscene, Link had no hearts - not even heart containers. We were laughing a lot at this point and then paused as soon as we could to see if anything else was different. Each page had duplicated to the item page and every slot was an Ocarina of Time. So, naturally, we tried to make the glitch even worse by giving the Ocarina to the Happy Mask salesman. He turned us back into a Hylian like normal, but we suddenly had no sword and there was no way to get one so we couldn't leave Clock Town. This is when it got even funnier, as Link began to randomly die every so often, seemingly just having a heart attack because there were no heart containers. We messed around a while longer then just turned off the system and turned it back on again and our old files were both back. Weird and hilarious.

This was an interesting video, but about the milk bar glitch, you don't need to use the bunny hood to make Link move fast, sometimes (but not always) when you talk to the Zora to play the songs, after you do that and get boo'ed/heckled by the trope leader, Link will sometimes move quickly even without the bunny hood on. Also in the 64 version only, you can continuously get the trope leaders mask every time you reset time. (Also I love how the narrator of this video says the word “bottle”)😎

The 4th Day glitch has me curious. Based on the effects, it seems like it might have set the game to either A) an actual 4th day, which has no schedule for the NPCs, thus they dont exist or B) Set the days remaining to the maximum amount possible, which would be a value they never expected you to reach. i wonder if, in the event of B, would waiting long enough actually allow you to reach the 1st day and continue playing?

I think that this is similar to the pomeg glitch in Pokemon R/Z. When you give a pomeg berry to a pokemon with 1 hp, his hp will reset to -65536 (or something like that). Because there is no negative number for the HP, this equals to the maximum possible number for any integer counter.
Here, in Majora's Mask, something similar happens. When you the go lower than 0 days, the game reset the days to the maximum possible number (I don't know what is the maximum number for a integer in N64 so I don't know).

I experienced a crazy glitch once when I was fighting the final boss, Majora's Wrath. It latched onto me with one of its tentacles and threw me across the map, but because of the angle I was standing at, it actually threw me on top of this pillar thing above the door that you first enter in! I was stuck up there and Majora couldn't damage me and it was awesome lol I wish I had recording material at the time it happened cuz I doubt I'll ever get it to happen again; pure crazy luck.

For everyone who has fierce deity’s mask on majoras mask 3D there is a way to put it on and take it off
To do it have fierce deity’s mask on y or x and have another mask on y or x use the other mask and go into pictobox view after that go into the item’s or mask’s menu and switch the two masks around on y and x after that you should see that you can put the mask on but if you try it won’t work because you have to L target and then put on the mask but you have to do it very quickly

there's actually another way to turn into fierce deity outside boss fights that i find easier to pull off, i've done it multiple times. you use the epona glitch with the owl statue by milk road, so that you can use c button items while on epona. make sure you have enough ruppees for the horse race before doing so however. go and talk to the gorman brother and enter the race, as soon as you enter press the c button that you have the fierce deity mask assigned to and you should turn into him. he'll fire an arrow and you'll hear a noise going off as well, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING WHILE LIKE THIS doing so will crash the game. just wait for the brothers to finish the race and refuse another one. tada you're fierce deity link.

+iamaninsomniac There's a way to do the Fourth Day glitch in the 3DS version somehow, and the Fierce Deity Glitch is a lot easier to pull off in the 3DS version. To do it, have the hookshot, and light arrows assigned to the x, and y buttons (it doesn't matter which.) Now, go into First person. Open up the masks menu, and equip the Fierce Deity mask over which ever item. Finally, cancel out of first person mode, while at the same time, press the button for the Fierce Deity Mask. If you did it correctly, Link will put on the Fierce Deity mask. If it doesn't work, try leaving the area, and coming back.

Awesome video!!! Theres a glitch that ive been using since childhood i noticed is missing from it though, and i hate to be that guy, but its so practical, useful and easy i had to bring it up. In ikana canyon where sakkons hideout is, if you equip the bunny hood and roll in the gap of the stone door to the left, (yes i know this sounds impossible) you can actually phase through the stone door crack and enter sakkons hideout early. This is especially useful if used on the 3rd day before night time because it allows you to obtain all the spoils from the kafei/anju questline in one go if executed correctly. Also, while in the hideout, if you step on the switch to begin playing as kafei, you can hit start right away and equip the fierce deity mask onto your bunnyhood c button and then put it on and traverse the over world with it that way! As always though awesome videos, especially this one considering i was able to learn new ways to break my favorite game ever. ;)

I remember when I accidentally performed the fourth day glitch at the Goron Racetrack. The timer ended right as I hit the finish line so the game didn't end and instead I got the baby talking to me at the end of the race. He finished his thing and I stumbled back to Termina Field in confusion before the game crashed.

Wow! Some really interesting glitches there. Well done! I just got this game for my 3DS, and I'm really enjoying it! Nintendo really improved this version. I am also keeping track of the Bombers Notebook (which I wasn't in the N64 version) which makes the game so much more enjoyable. Anyways, excellent job with this video. I hope to see future Zelda glitching videos.

Majora's Mask (my favorite Zelda game) turned 20-years old today. I have soo many fascinating memories playing and watching my older brother play this game in the basement. It was only today that I discovered that our birthdays are very close to each other. Hopefully it comes to Switch someday.
I had never played Zelda, up until the time the 3DS remake for Ocarina came out. I started getting really into the series, and tried to find new, and interesting things that no one had found before in the game. I had heard of Majora's Mask, but I had never played until the 3DS remake was released. I can now say without a doubt, it is one of the best Zelda games ever made, and playing it o the New 3DS XL is probably the best way to experience this game.
