So, I tried that "time travel" glitch and went to Windfall, with different results... For starters, the ship's door wasn't interactive. I couldn't try to go in and I wasn't asked for a password. So, I decided to try sneaking into the bomb shop. The camera didn't get stuck, the game didn't softlock, and it was almost like the glitch got reset. Weird, but still pretty cool.
This is practically a speedrunning guide for the game! It showcases a majority of the glitches used in real runs and describes how to do them. Plus, you even added in a few extra silly glitches and you're awesome for doing so. I have no idea why I wasn't subscribed to you sooner, but at least it's done now. Thanks for the video!
Just in case anyone was curious, there IS a very convoluted way to get out of the situation he gets into starting at 6:57. You do lose your sword once you board the pirate ship at Windfall and end up at the Forsaken Fortress, but there’s a way to get it back and fix your progress with a bit of work. Once you end up at the fortress, like the video says, if you save and quit the game, you’ll be taken back to Windfall Island without your sword. From there, all you have to do is find a Moblin. All of the Moblins in the game are programmed to capture Link if you don’t have a sword in your inventory-no matter where you are, if you’re seen by one in this state, you get warped instantly to the Forsaken Fortress and thrown into the cell. Once that’s done, you can go down to the fortress courtyard, trigger the Gossip Stone cutscene that you missed before, then go up to the tower and get your sword from outside Aryll’s room. Once you sit through the Helmaroc King cutscene again (or just save, quit, and reload), you’ll get taken back to Windfall, you can enter and leave a building to make the pirate ship appear, and once you go inside it, everything will be as it should be and you can get the bombs from Niko, as intended. The only tricky part of this trick is that the Forsaken Fortress exterior will still be completely dark, like in this video. But if you trigger the missing scene, then save and reload to get back to Windfall without your sword, then get caught by another Moblin, the fortress should go back to normal and you can climb to the top and get your sword back that way. Or if you really want to, you can skip the sword and try to finish the game without it.
This is super impressive dude! When ever i see a glitch video like this, not enough research is usually done and gaps are made in the presentation. Either tricks are poorly explained or there are inaccuracies within the video. I'm blown away by how well you explained these and how many tricks/glitches you included. Once i saw that you looked at Nap, gymnast, abahbob, and cosmo's things i knew why you did this video so well. And im not just saying this, im a speedrunner for the original wind waker and HD. Plus i'm in close contact with all said above except cosmo, and this is very VERY well made. Im very excited for the Wind Waker SD video. Keep up the good work dude :)
7:31 actually, the glitch can be reversed. If you save and quit, you will spawn on windfall Island, swordless. You will then need to sail to the submarine north east of northern fairy isle. You will be sent back to the fortress by the moblins and have to redo forsaken fortress 1 in complete darkness

This video is a classic among the glitch videos. But with so much progression being made on this game I feel like a part 2 would be perfect! It would be the perfect way to show of TWW’s most iconic glitch nowadays, The Itemslide!
i saw an earlier version/iteration of the helmaroc skip, the original method was really tricky and pretty damn precise, this method is news to me, gonna have to try these, thanks for these glitch showcase vids.
The gossip stone skip glitch isn't actually a softlock. There's a submarine somewhere in the northwest part of where the game will let you go that has Moblins inside. Because you don't have a sword, getting near the Moblins will trigger their early game behavior and you'll end up in the Forsaken Fortress jail cell. From there you can go outside to find that everything is still pitch-black, at which point you can trigger the gossip stone cutscene and proceed somewhat normally. Alternatively, if you beat the Forsaken Fortress again while it is pitch black without triggering the gossip stone cutscene, the game will play all of the cutscenes that normally play at the end of the first visit to the Forsaken Fortress, but when it would transition to Link in the boat at Windfall, it dumps you off next to where the boat should be without the boat being there. The boat is parked at the dock where it normally ends up if you enter and exit a building on Windfall. Once you're back on Windfall, it will be night and raining as if the pirate ship was there, but there is no pirate ship, or any NPCs outside for that matter. If you travel to other islands, you'll find that not only are there no NPCs outside on any island, but the pirate ship is at Outset island where it is during the very beginning of the game, after looking at the postman through the telescope and before rescuing Tetra, where it's stationary in the distance. Entering and exiting any building, cave, etc. will set the game back to normal, with the pirate ship on Windfall again. Of course, because you never got the gossip stone cutscene, you can now infinitely loop the glitch as many times as you want until you watch the gossip stone cutscene.
My god...what an incredible job are you doing here to find all these glitches!! In my game I never find anything xD! You really deserve a lot more suscibers. By the way, the "grandma you suck" part have me laughing almost a minute xD

I've never played anything from Nitendo before, but after watching this I've downloaded cemu and now waiting for joystick delivery. And even with keyboard controls I can say that this game is AWESOME and… literally have found unexplored corner of my heart. And I want to look at pigspinning in reality ^_^
Whoa, this might just be in the *Top 50 UA-cam videos ever* for me!! :O It's quite incredible since *Wind Waker* (and the *DS Zelda's*) has been a big part of my life for roughly 10 years now! :D I also have some glitches and a trick of my own I discovered on my own playing *Wind Waker* on *GCN* ;-),I like to use/try these in every Playthrough of *Wind Waker (/HD)* (I don't know if these are mentioned in your video on the GameCube version.) In the _Forbidden Forest_ Dungeon in room with the _Red Flower_ hanging from the ceiling that lands in the water with the Boomerang, jump down from the top of the room so that you land _under_ the _Red Flower_. You can then spin the camera to see Link's usually "un-seeable" swimming animation in full (as well as the outside of the water and walls of the room.) In any cave that uses the _Wrecked Ship_ "template", sidle along the side of the ship on your right side (as of entering the cave) _Sidle_ along the ship's wall that goes into the ground and die of suffocation. (Even though visibly Link's untouched) And when you are in _Hyrule Castle_ and enter the room where the _Master Sword_ is sealed away, instead of going deeper into the room triggering a dialog, I like to _Save and Quit_ when I enter that room so that when you load up the file, it starts up in the dialog! (I also like the feeling of loading up a file that's _on top of_ the *Tower of the Gods*!) - And again, thanks for the video. ;: >
Also, the room with the purple flower in Forbidden Woods, after dropping it into the water, you obviously drop down with it, now jump off a nearby ledge into the water next to it. If you time it right, while his head is still under the water, you can swim under the flower and stay there. Now you can look underwater and see Link swim.
Awesome compilation! This is one of my favorite Zelda titles I've played. My favorite was the Gannondorf one at the end... It looks like Link broke him.
Fun Tip: inside the sewer system of the cabana, there's a little trick you can do to skip pretty much 90% of the puzzle. When you reach areas where the skull hammer trigger is behind a gate, what you can do is do a jumping slam with the skull hammer at an angle against the side of the wall where the switch is located on the other side. It may take a couple tries to do, but if you do this correctly you'll end up hitting the switch on the other side of the wall, which will allow you to skip the vast majority of the sewer puzzle!
A+Start i tried that glitch where you used the roll clip on a house on outset then took the pig in there but i accidentally made the pig fall through the ground somewhere around that area
I actually found a glitch in this game. In the Wind Temple, go to one of the springs. Put on the iron boots while you're on the spring. Now take them off, but crouch right after you do so, before the spring launches you into the air. You'll remain crouched, and the spring will have not shot you up into the air.
Andy, it's reassuring to see people like you who are truly able to EXPLAIN these glitches. Ignore those who can't appreciate the beauty of glitches, for it is them who will have uncovered one less wonder of video games.
One thing not mentioned is Barrier Skip, but I can see why it wasn't added. It most likely wasn't found until a few years after this video came up, and is still very difficult to pull off, even with Item Sliding.
When I was younger, I first watched this, and I didn’t get what was happening. It was cool though. Now that I know about the game and LOVE it, I can enjoy the video even more.
10:31 he says "simply walk foward" it's easier if you crawl instead because alot of the time walking forward will cause you to clip inside or beside the banister above you and have to start over again.
In the Tower of the Gods first floor skip, if you press right instead of left you'll get pushed into the water but if you navigate past the giant gate you can get a Small Key, now with that Key, if you perform the glitch again but do it the right way by pressing left you can skip a room on the second floor which takes a while to complete, so it skips about 10-15 mins of the dungeon which can be useful for speed runs or if you just want to skip a part of the dungeon
I thought when you said "we can only see the eyes of the sailors on the ship with this glitch", the rabbit from FNAF was going to pop up and scare the shit out of me.
I have a video of a windwaker HD glitch on my channel. it's a pointless glitch but is clips Medli into Link and she is stuck in her being grabbed by enemy animation. the result is Link carrying her severed panicked head around. The way I triggered it was apparently by using the melody to command her just as a wall master grabbed her and draggeg her into a ray of light. it got stunned by the reflecting light, dropping Medli. then when I picked her up I assume her animation data was still set to "Grabbed by wall master" and played that over "Being carried by link*
After watching a speed run I saw several glitches not shown in this video. Namely the item dash and super swim which are both used interchangeably. Item dash letting link rocket forward at ridiculous speed even over large gaps and super swim using the same technique to swim at ludicrous speed. Both techniques utilize items like the boomerang, bow, and grapple hook
Those are both good glitches, but my guess is that A+Start probably just didn't know about those at the time, I mean, this was sorta made over 3 years ago.
So apparently you know the first moblins you encounter in the temple with medli?(forgot what it's called) you can do this "glitch" with medley or link. (I did it with medli though). You can make the moblin charge at you by going up close and running away, but whenever you make a sharp turn up the left staircase, he will try to make a pitstop by sliding, but he'll turn towards you and continue to slide until he gets close enough to you. Zelda now with stair sliding!!
Warning: The Triforce block puzzle in Hyrule Castle is vital to gameplay! I skipped the puzzle and the 2nd time I returned to where you get the Master Sword to check on Princess Zelda, I guess the game still thought I was just getting the Master Sword. The game soft-locks! I learned this the hard way :'(
This game was my first Zelda game so it might be my bias for the game but i feel like this game has the most unique and gamebreaking glitches. Especially for speed running.
Have you ever thought of doing Full Skip let's Plays not speed runs, but like full let's play work with Tons of glitches and exploits, i would love to see that, you def have the knowledge and Skill, Just an idea, either way love ur content.
Now that Item Slide has been discovered and destroys the entire game, will there be a SOAG Mini on that particular glitch? It's really crazy to mess around with

It's actually kind of hard to believe that such an amazing game is actually pretty broken (although being able to clip through objects in any game will probably allow you to break numerous features and/or skip things)
He forgot a weird but funny glitch that's super easy! Here's how to do it: at any point in the game, just ever so slightly move the analog stick in any direction while on solid ground. It even works while in a barrel in Forsaken Fortress (that's actually how I found out about it)

A+Start i tried that glitch where you used the roll clip on a house on outset then took the pig in there but i accidentally made the pig fall through the ground somewhere around that area

I actually found a glitch in this game. In the Wind Temple, go to one of the springs. Put on the iron boots while you're on the spring. Now take them off, but crouch right after you do so, before the spring launches you into the air. You'll remain crouched, and the spring will have not shot you up into the air.
Andy, it's reassuring to see people like you who are truly able to EXPLAIN these glitches. Ignore those who can't appreciate the beauty of glitches, for it is them who will have uncovered one less wonder of video games.

One thing not mentioned is Barrier Skip, but I can see why it wasn't added. It most likely wasn't found until a few years after this video came up, and is still very difficult to pull off, even with Item Sliding.

In the Tower of the Gods first floor skip, if you press right instead of left you'll get pushed into the water but if you navigate past the giant gate you can get a Small Key, now with that Key, if you perform the glitch again but do it the right way by pressing left you can skip a room on the second floor which takes a while to complete, so it skips about 10-15 mins of the dungeon which can be useful for speed runs or if you just want to skip a part of the dungeon
Item sliding, item jumping, super swim and ledge clip are my favorites... I like speedruns
I thought when you said "we can only see the eyes of the sailors on the ship with this glitch", the rabbit from FNAF was going to pop up and scare the shit out of me.
I have a video of a windwaker HD glitch on my channel. it's a pointless glitch but is clips Medli into Link and she is stuck in her being grabbed by enemy animation. the result is Link carrying her severed panicked head around.
The way I triggered it was apparently by using the melody to command her just as a wall master grabbed her and draggeg her into a ray of light. it got stunned by the reflecting light, dropping Medli. then when I picked her up I assume her animation data was still set to "Grabbed by wall master" and played that over "Being carried by link*
After watching a speed run I saw several glitches not shown in this video. Namely the item dash and super swim which are both used interchangeably. Item dash letting link rocket forward at ridiculous speed even over large gaps and super swim using the same technique to swim at ludicrous speed. Both techniques utilize items like the boomerang, bow, and grapple hook
Those are both good glitches, but my guess is that A+Start probably just didn't know about those at the time, I mean, this was sorta made over 3 years ago.
So apparently you know the first moblins you encounter in the temple with medli?(forgot what it's called) you can do this "glitch" with medley or link. (I did it with medli though). You can make the moblin charge at you by going up close and running away, but whenever you make a sharp turn up the left staircase, he will try to make a pitstop by sliding, but he'll turn towards you and continue to slide until he gets close enough to you. Zelda now with stair sliding!!

Warning: The Triforce block puzzle in Hyrule Castle is vital to gameplay! I skipped the puzzle and the 2nd time I returned to where you get the Master Sword to check on Princess Zelda, I guess the game still thought I was just getting the Master Sword. The game soft-locks! I learned this the hard way :'(

This game was my first Zelda game so it might be my bias for the game but i feel like this game has the most unique and gamebreaking glitches. Especially for speed running.

You didn't missed anything. I watched both videos but in your windwaker hd video are more glitches than in the normal windwaker. But if someone makes a remake the game should be better. But in this case it failed😂

He forgot a weird but funny glitch that's super easy! Here's how to do it: at any point in the game, just ever so slightly move the analog stick in any direction while on solid ground. It even works while in a barrel in Forsaken Fortress (that's actually how I found out about it)
