6 years ago I realized I hated myself. I felt worthless, pathetic, and helpless. I decided to change careers and follow my passion for food. I've come so far, and today I'm a sous chef. I've learned skills and gained confidence. I'm more capable than I ever thought I could be. I just did my first solo catering job, a wedding for 175 with a lot of constraints, and it was a great! I did it mainly to learn and grow from it. I've had some good chefs/mentors see my potential and help me learn. It's definitely true that good leadership is infectious. I recognized early that a kitchen fails when the chef isn't leading by example and helping their cooks grow, and succeeds when they do. That's one of my main career goals, to be the chef mentor to others that younger me needed.

Thank you so much for sharing these insights. Adopting a growth mindset can be challenging, but it's so incredibly helpful. I'm definitely sharing this with as many startup founders as I can 🙏

What an amazing recipe ! Love how simply he converses about Expectations and Feedback.
And how minimalistic and tidy his Rules for Growth/Life are!
Will put them on a Post it note to remind myself everyday!
Thank you very much for this invaluable talk :)
