    Why is it so hard finding someone help treat sibo? I’ve had it since 2014, and not one GI has helped me. I tried a couple naturopaths, but my stomach got worse. I just wish I could get help. :(

      because regular midwestern doctors are NOT trained in finding the root cause of our digestive issues, the only know how too prescribe darn drugs, locate a holistic or a naturopathic doctor or digestive gut health person that knows how to treat it, and you will get well, DO NOT go to regular doctors, most dont know how to treat it nor do they actually believe in SIBO, they just call it IBS which is a garbage dump term when they dont know what is wrong. Most holistic providers dont take insurance so its expensive and you have to pay out of your pocket, thats what's wrong with our healthcare system today, just research and google all about sibo and you can start to help yourself, you will need to find a provider that can order the trio smart test for you though, its not something you can order without a doctor

    Your advice seems really specific. I’ve only watched a couple of your videos so far and I’m super impressed! I keep going on and off keto and taking different supplements. I’ve shifted through a lot of info on SIBO but nothing specific enough to help me come up with a game plan I feel comfortable following on my own with step by step elimination process. Tried multiple supplements and some helped lift the symptoms heavily, but my digestive system is still compromised. I only developed really bad symptoms and was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago. I agree with what everyone below is saying- its SUPER difficult to get any solid advice about how to fix this issue. I’m totally booking an appointment with you for one hour!

      I would recommend working with a skilled SIBO practitioner as it's really hard to treat yourself. One of the reasons why I don't share the exact herbal protocol I personally followed is because it was tailored to me, and every person needs a protocol tailored to their own gut issues. Having said that, there are recommended treatment protocols for each type of SIBO - you start there and then tailor as necessary. If you would like support with understanding the best type of treatment protocol, a review of your SIBO breath test, support with a SIBO diet, etc, I would be more than happy to do a 1:1 SIBO Coaching Call with you. You can book in here: thehealthygut.com/1on1-coaching-sessions/

    Thanks for this video. Question: did you suffer from biogenic amine intolerances, such as the well known histamine intolerance, or lesser known tyramine intolerance? If so, did this improve upon treatment?
    Also, did you suffer from other extraintestinal symptoms, or were your symptoms strictly contrained to the GI-tract?

    How is leaky gut diagnosed? And what should one do if their primary care doctor just dismisses your symptoms as IBS and leaves it at that? What diagnostic tests should I be seeking? My symptoms are basically intermittent constipation/ straining, loose, bulky, malodorous, light colored stools, bloating, gas, tenesmus and a weird sulfur/ garlic odor. ( even when I haven't eaten anything to cause it) I am 59, and health conscious, exercise, and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink water. Lately I am also getting indigestion.

    • @elfyhanley
      @elfyhanley Рік тому +3

      Leaky gut can be detected through looking at your zonulin levels. Personally, I was diagnosed with leaky gut via a GI map from healthpath UK. For SIBO you’d need a breath test. I’m saving money up for one, as I know I have awful dysbiosis but I need to know which type of SIBO I have in order to treat it effectively. Doctors are a nuisance when it comes to SIBO… look for a good naturopath. Best of luck x

      There is no set time it takes to clear SIBO as it is completely dependant on the person - why they have it, how long they’ve had it, how high their numbers are, any other conditions at play in their body, etc. I don’t provide specific advice on people’s protocols unless I work with them, as I’m sure you can appreciate there is so much more to understanding why your body ended up with SIBO than just critiquing a short post. I do have capacity for a few new clients so you’re welcome to book in for a call with me. I also go into a lot of detail about how to successfully treat SIBO in my Live Well With SIBO course which you can do at your own pace. You can learn more about both via my website www.thehealthygut.com.

    So I've been seeing a Naturopathic Doctor who has diagnosed me with methane dominant SIBO and SIFO/Candida Overgrowth. The biggest problem for me is tolerating the treatment. I tried the anti-fungal Fluconazole 100mg and that made me miserable: extremely tired, irritable, and triggered a migraine. So we tried lowering the dose to 50mg and the effect was virtually the same. I've had similarly bad reactions to other very basic supplements like pure Vitamin D3 in olive oil. Any recommendations or advice on where to start with the SIBO treatment? I'm thinking I'd push for the Rifaximin + Neomycin as herbal supplements tend to be some of my biggest offenders (garlic & cloves especially).
