Loved this vlog! So much to comment about! I agree about there being too much scientific stuff in The Nest but I loved the language and kills so much that I still gave it a decent rating and still loved my experience reading it! So glad you mostly enjoyed it too! And I think I have that McNally book. I'll have to actually read it! I didn't think it would wind up being good! So glad you enjoyed! Also, I read a lot of Paperbacks from Hell but hardly ever do a whole vlog about me reading them. I should totally do something like this next year! And speaking of that, I'd love for you to share your list of ones you want to read with me (only if you want to of course). I'm reading at least 23 PFH next year (currently making a list of those I definitely want to read), and I can add some to my list that you're going to read too! It'd be fun to compare and contrast our thoughts on some and/or do buddy reads sometimes! I'm always up for reading PFH books! planning on reading as many as possible because I plan on doing a top 10 PFH books I've read list next year! ALSO I LOVED THAT YOU WERE WEARING YOUR CHRISTMAS EVIL SWEATSHIRT! EEEE! So cool! It was awesome to see you rocking it 😊🤩 Awesome job with this video!
Yay! I'm so excited for your top 10 PFH! The McNally book surprised me! I wasn't expecting it to scare me 😂 I definitely want to read all the reprints! As of right now I've gotten The Searing and The House Next Door to read for next year! I want to put together a KU list as well! I'm so excited to read a ton next year with you!!
Loved this. Love Grady Hendrix so much. Loved all of his books. So glad he put this book together. I have a few of the paperbacks from hell. I’m collecting them a few at a time. Great job with this video. 😉
I don't read a lot of vintage but I love Grady's book for just the covers alone. I have When Darkness Loves Us on my TBR, just picked up that Clare McNally too. Lisa Tuttle is also on my list.
Yay! Definitely looking forward to more paperbacks from hell videos. 🙌 I’ve seen so many people talk about it and it sounds like so many interesting books are listed in there! I need to get my hands on a copy soon.
Awesome! I've already bought more books so I was hoping people would like this 🤣 It's so much fun! It does have a treasure trove of books I want to read now! 😂
Hi katrina, I love the way you said Crotch roaches lol. I think I will have to read the nest sounds gross I have audible so will have to look up paperbacks from hell. Creepy toys freak me out so always a scary read.😊
Haha, The Nest was disgusting! But I still enjoyed it 😂 I think all the reprints are on audible and The Paperbacks From Hell is included in your membership! 😊 It's so much fun but bad for my wallet 😂
This was so fun, I'd definitely love to see more of these! I haven't read any paperbacks from hell but I have a video planned to read some and I just got the last book I needed for it today!
Great books you have some good books to read. Great reviews. Hope your doing well. Christmas is coming soon. Lots of shopping to do. Love the Christmas decorations out there. Are you gonna decorate your house soon. Take care happy reading
I love this video so much! I think I'm going to get the Paperbacks From Hell book as a Christmas present to myself! I actually bought Somebody Come and Play on Ebay right now! hahaha t was cheap but ugly cover! I've been wanting to read The Nest for ages.... I love books with too much scientific stuff!
It was so much fun! I had Somebody Come and Play forever 😂 it was nice to finally get to it! You should do it! I would love to see which ones you read!
I've been trying to review more of the Paperbacks from Hell I've read and plan to do more in the future. I have another McNally to read but I def want to get a hold of the one you read. It does suck there's no audio for a lot of them. The reprints from valencourt have some on audible but I haven't found any anywhere else. Love seeing all the oldies get attention ☺️ Also, I hated The Nest but I do think it was because of all the science stuff. The kills were def interesting 🍂🪳🍂🪳🍂🪳
I didn't even check for the audiobooks of the reprints! That makes sense though! 🤦🏻♀️ I want to read all of the paperbacks from hell good or bad 😂 The Nest is definitely not for everyone! It's so gross 🤣
Ah another creepy doll on the "When The Darkness Loves Us" cover and others 😀😺 and all those 80s books I love it. The McNally books look just like VC Andrews' stuff, my guess would be Andrews came first. Now I don't know what Hendrix calls a paperback from hell my understanding was that they are rare books that were seriously disturbing, "Let's Go Play At The Adams" being a prime example (have you gotten hold of that one yet? Proceed with caution!). But he seems to have it that they are monster books which might have gross but hardly disturbing material. Nonetheless the more of them the merrier great to hear they are being re-printed 👍 Love that CAFFEINE in huge letters on your soda but does that have guarana in it? I love caffeine, but guarana no, it always gives me a worn-out feeling 👎Thanks on "The Nest" movie I never saw that one and will catch it on You Tube when seasonally appropriate 👍
I think Andrews did come before McNally. There's a chapter to Anne Rice and Andrews in the Hendrix book. I have the first five books of the Flowers in The Attic series but I haven't read it yet! I haven't gotten my hands on Let's Go Playlist At The Adams but I want to read it! That's one of the reprints! The cover is scary! 😨 I didn't see guarana in the ice drink but it does have green tea extract. The Nest movie and book is wild 😂 it would be a great summer watch!
"Let's Go Play-"'s author Mendal Johnson apparently drank himself to death within 2 years of its publication 😒😾 It is more of an attack on the soul than a horror novel, made all the worse for being well-written. I know you tend to go into books without knowing a lot about them, but if it's the cover with the girl tied to the chair that is the classic one from the late 70s, early 80s that haunted me the moment I saw it again online. I made the mistake of reading it when I was like 12 but it will mess with heads of any age 😄😸 Green tea 🍵 is fine and The Nest will go on my next-summer list thanks 😊
Ok I have to read the nest so I can watch the movie! I haaate cockroaches like I think they are borderline a phobia so I know the nest is gonna gross me out 🤮 also the doll one omg I want for the cover so bad
Ahh I love this idea! I’m planning to do it too because there’s so many paperbacks from hell!
Crotchroaches lmaoooooooi
Ahh loved this I want to read these now!
Yes! There are so many!!
@@MichellesLibrary 🤣 it was A LOT!
@@MichellesLibrary they are wild! Definitely, some stuff in there that wouldn't fly today 😂

Grady Hendrix is the best!! I'm excited to hear what you think of some them when you get around to it! Awe, thank you very much! 😊
I don't read a lot of vintage but I love Grady's book for just the covers alone. I have When Darkness Loves Us on my TBR, just picked up that Clare McNally too. Lisa Tuttle is also on my list.
I can't wait to read more from Elizabeth Engstrom! When Darkness Loves us was so good!

Hahahaha The Nest is so gross. Lol. I love Paperbacks from Hell and am thinking about doing a video deep dive series of the book.
The Nest was disgusting but I enjoyed it for some reason 😂 Yess! I'm so excited to read more! My bank account isn't excited though 😅

Thank you! I haven't decorated! I did get a Candy Corn tree on sale from Micheals that I'm excited to get up! Happy reading to you!

I need to read some of them too!
They are so much fun!
The Nest definitely does not sound like it's for me! Lol but I am very interested in checking out the other two.
haha, it was so gross!
This is such a great idea! I own a couple paperbacks from hell and have yet to read them lol 🙈

yess! Sometimes they're hard to find!
Great vlog 📚😎🎃💀🦇👻🪦📚
Thank you! 😊🤗❤️💜❤️
The intro scared me to near death.
Oh no! 🥺

😄😸 The good news is that it prepped me for the more than four decades of extreme horror to follow!

The Nest made me so itchy! The movie had so many big roaches but they did seem smaller in the movie than the book 🤣
