It wasn't the worst book I read by far but American Rapture was probably the most disappointing because I had such high hopes. Thankfully none of these books were on my immediate TBR 🍿🍿

I used to collect Stephen Kings books, if I didn't have it and came across it, I got it. But the later books I started to not like so will never get a new release again. I'm only keeping the classics such as It, Pet Sematary, Misery etc..

The BJ sweater 💜💚 Cat magic has no cats? wtf. I have that book too 😂 I hated the horror movie books that came out. One was a dnf, one was mediocre, and 2 I didn't bother with. Midnight rooms has the most gorgeous cover. It should be illegal to be awful with that kind of cover.

What a surprise a new King book is trite and dull I'm shocked, just shocked 😏😸 I remember you having "Cat Magic" up and this pertains to "Gila" as well - why could they not just have a giant cat and a giant gila monster as in a 1950s movie, now that WOULD be great 😸😁 I remember the "Lair of the White Worm" book being boring rather than racist but we each choose our suffering point 😁😸 (Stoker's "Dracula" didn't exactly move at a quick clip either, just saying). The 80s movie is watchable if you're in the mood for perversey Ken Russell stuff. Hey "Midnight Rooms" has a great cover though would you agree?

Reading out of spite 😂 I love it! Very Katrinacore haha. I haven’t read any of these but it was very satisfying learning why they didn’t work for you. Vintage horror can be so tricky! I think I tried to read Midnight Rooms but DNFed it. I think it’s YA? I might be mistaken but I think I remember that I found it boring and hard to connect to!

that is awesome way to use the things that you have i keep a regular journal and i use all bits of trash that goes with my day and i love doing that oh we have the same first name. very cool book journal i do love to read i put that in my daily time capsule journal where i write everything in there and stick everything in there as well.

I really need to get my hands on The Eyes Are The Best Part! I am dying to read it! I also really need to get a copy of Out because that's on my list too! Great video!!

First, the placemats are adorable! I'm all about finally using some of my old stickers this year and putting a dent in my stationary stash. My journal last year got so thick I broke it. 😂

I bought a lined notebook this year to make reading journaling a bit easier, and that way hopefully use it more often.

I love seeing your spin on junk journaling! I do the same. I keep an ongoing journal to track my hobbies and create collages. I save all my scraps from book sub boxes, packages, purchases, magazine clippings, ribbons, etc- just any scraps I have laying around that looks pretty! I hope you have fun with this this year!

I’m planning on slowing down my reading too! Focusing on more than just this hobby, especially trying to teach myself to crochet! I do have some library book stack that I’m really feeling but idk how many of them I will get to. I am in a “cozy slice of life” kind of mood so not much horror vibes at the moment. I am hyped for lots of gothic vibes for Valloween in Feb though!!

For the banned books idea it would be interesting to maybe see the #1 banned book in each state and maybe a related vlog of a few that spark your interest.

I found Violent Faculties super obnoxious hahaha but I think that makes it a good book club pick! I've had The Silent Companions on my shelf forever! I've heard it's so good!

I randomly decided to reread Little Women, like super slowly so technically that will be my first book of January, but I’m doing Winterween and have some random horror prepped for that. I’m using it as the excuse to reread House of Leaves since I read it like 6 years ago and felt like I should revisit it

I really enjoyed Immortal Dark. It definitely doesn’t scream YA to me. It’s definitely got a darker side of vampires which I can see people having an issue with as YA, but at the same time, 🤷‍♀️ lol. I hope you enjoy it!
