Stock 84mm bore with stock crank high compression pistons and upgraded type r tranny for track use....shifting short at 8000 rpm max is 9800 since I was running in the 11.50 index class, had to slow her down a lot and let off right around the 1000 ft mark

Older video but had to comment; car rolls out really well for a stock bore/ stock stroke NA build. My old B20V was 84.5x89 12.5:1 static with a 4Piston head package. Made 236whp and like 165wtq on pump fuel but I ended up adding a big fuel system and putting the car on E90 and a GTX3076R with a Full Race manifold. Made over 450whp @ ~13psi. High compression turbo builds are awesome if you can tune lol. 😃

the sleeves crack due to heat stress but with vp m5 she runs at a constant 180 degrees max but our goal is to hit 10.50 index next year on a oem crank and bore but it's not cheap at all lol

I really miss my 95 coupe, had a LS/VTEC in it with Intergra type R rear suspension and hardware making it 4 wheel disc, Koni yellows all 4 corners, custom p28 tuned by a friend. Good ears and yes I did shift early because we were in the 11.50 index and thats the only way I could slow her down by shortening that power curve a bit

Hey i like your build. im trying to build a car in honor of my friend passing away. I see a b20 at a reputable importer for 350 does this seem right ? engines are guaranteed about 45-55k miles.
b20b last for a pretty long time as long as the engine is maintained well but I've seen them last 200k use an ls tranny to help on fuel consumption!!!!!
whats your thoughts on running turbo? do they hold up well on boost i see youre running NA
+Juan Martinez for boost I would recommend the b18b ls motor it'll hold 300 hp daily for a while as long as the coolant temp is maintained and not getting hot also with good oil in hot weather
what about the b20 with forged internals and sleeved would it be able to hit about 350 with the proper internal builds.
+Juan Martinez the problem is the area between the sleeves it's thin and can Crack on heat exchange if you use the b18b and install a css insert it can hold up to 900 hp on stick sleeves and forged internals and the best part it's cheap

yeah we will soon just waiting to get a ppg dog gear set but we already went through about 4 sets of synccros in one season due to power shifting and second gear on an oem tranny hates power shifting lol.

is it going to be a daily driver or a full racer?
It's a weekend toy and is road legal but like to use it on the drag strip and do some circuit track days.
My best 1/4 mile is a 12.7@110mph with some hard circuit slicks on but that was with my old high comp b18.
Is my 240bhp @the fly low? My 370cc injectors were starting to max out so going for some bigger ones and going back for mapping. We have 99octane pump fuel here which is a good thing.
Is my old obx 4-1header holding me back do you think?

and yes headers can hold back top end power but for what your trying to achieve drag racing and circuit is 2 different ball games.... like with my setup since im a drag racer my tune and adjustments is for all top end power but for you it might be better that you set it for mid range and a little top end.

13:5.1 compression and she made 282 would of made more with better headers and intake manifold!!!!!

yeah we was basically a newbie during that time 3 years ago lol and now shes come a long way but we decided to end the season early this yer to change the shell and finally get her at 100 percent so we can aim for the record next season on a 2.0

I power shift alot for consistency at index racing now we dont have an oem syncro transmission anymore and upgraded the motor heavy for this season.

85mm is a great size to go with on a street setup and i love the b16 heads just make sure you get a good intake manifold with a 70mm throttle body and use a hondata s300 chip. as far as the cams i'm not a fan of buddy club but if you bought them already use them!!!!! but i recommend skunk2 pro 2 if you want a hard hit on vtec with a great top end power band!!!!

Mike Lopez I usually don't go by best etc since there is many things I need to upgrade like the oem axles lol best time so far 10.96 if tell upgrades were done like spherical control arms and better axles with rear lightweight assembly and maybe weld on dog syncro I can probably get her down to 10.5s or high 10.4

it sounds good, but why does everyone insist on using such a small steering wheel. and it's not just imports, because the "promod outlaws" on discovery does the same thing. makes no sense
i personally use a smaller steering wheel because it helps me stay in the groove and i use less motion to turn the wheel which is better then trying to stay straight with a big steering wheel which is crazy at launch
Holly vtec this thing moves, i want to go vtec on my b20. I have heard horror stories on stock internals on lsvtec set ups. The most i would do is forged piston/rod combo and chill. Is that a good set up for daily driving? And i have a p75 ecu.

AS LONG AS THE CRANK JOURNALS ARE MEASURED STRAIGHT AND THE BEARINGS HAVE A LITTLE SPACE TO OIL UP AND PLAY SHE WILL LAST FOR EVER I REV MINES HARD AND SHE ONLY NEEDS MAINTENANCE EVERY YEAR FOR THE BEATING SHE GETS LOL

I read up on that but never tried it. I was able to do it because I had a fresh set of carbon synced in but after a while she rejects the power shift lol

That gives me some hope, I have a b20 with a b16 head, and high Comp pistons, 13.2:1 (not assembled yet) All I've heard is "if the tune is good your safe" but after seeing this I feel more confident
+Allmotor Kris you should be fine and if you can port the head out even better but make sure its with good cams for an all motor drag car with good race fuels!!!! we are currently aiming at 290 whp
s2p2 cams((not ordered yet) it would be nice to run 93 for street and higher for autox/drag. I'll be happy if I get to run, then shoot for 230+ whp.

But for better accleration do i need fd. 4.3 from k24? Or its better to go with longer gears and shorter fd.? Whats best combo, any advice, thanks!!!!!

DJ Von Austin yes the head can bump compression a bit and with that compression skunk2 pro2 or tb motorworx stage 2 if you are using for track only depending on parts being used and fuel the power can range from 240 to 270 on race fuel m5 but m5 is a pain in the butt to maintain

Antonn Sum switch out manifold for ultra street with 72mm tb and get some 1320 headers since they don't cost much and you'll be fine bro the key to all motor power is cfm flow the more cfm you have the more power you make. Sock ports are great but will have a limit

honestly from what ive been seeing on the dyno not much of a difference at all!!!!! i have friend with better tb and intake manifold and we still make the same power but thats only for and 84mm bore but if going to 86 to 87 then 90 is needed!!!!!!
+Edwin Sanchez if you are running factory engine bore at 84mm then there is no need for an over size throttle body just run a 75mm trottle body which is a mustang tb if you want to see the setup im on instagran zeus_hdr and i can respond to messages quicker there

Ported head with a lost motion assembly and I only use ferrea valvetrain for the type of performance I need. But you can use any company as long as its rated at 100psi

simple eagle rods and the stock rods hold up to 8500 but not too many hits at the rpm eagle rods are only 300
last build i did was using stock rods(shotpeened)-75$+arp rodbolts,acl mains and rod bearings...was doing 9800 allday...custom 4angle valvejob ported head ++
Vega-Expert I have b20 vtec with stock rods but 85mm pistons ported head and pro3 all arp studs and bolt with acl bearings just degree the cams so gonna tune soon hope to make some power

you should just get high compression piston and rods for a good budget build if your piston compression is at 10.1 then bump it up to the max use of 93 octane fuel ask your tuner who knows this engine well. choose cams that make power on top end since all motor power is better at high revs and port your head out. doesn't have to be a professional high end port just need a street port. get an after market intake manifold and header that makes proven power on paper not just some company that claims it makes power. port match the intake manifold to the ported headers for complete even flow and if your throttle body is at 65mm go to 70mm. exhaust pipes need to be at least 3 inches for high flow on top end ours is at 3.5. make sure the springs and valves can handle the high revs too and has a tension of at least 80psi to prevent valve float. if the motor revs to 6k rpm get ready to rev her to 8500

bryan coronel your right lol and the shell was so cheap we decided to see how much she can weigh just cut to the max without upgrade heavy chassis items so we ended up with the final weight of 1555 but that shell is sold we have another and don't need to go to the max like this again lol

Did a 10.9 since we had alignment issues and the chassis was horrible lol. She was capable of 10.6 easily but we ended up selling the setup and building a bigger one. Updates will be up soon!!!!
