#NineRealms #MCU #Thor #Asgard
The 9 realms. What are they? Planets? Galaxies? Solar Systems? Today, we’ll be taking a closer look at the Nine Realms under the rule of Asgard from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now before we begin, the 9 realms we are discussing today are the heavenly bodies within the MCU and For the purposes of this video we will not be discussing any aspects from comics. As with our other lore videos, it’s important to make this distinction because the MCU is not the main prime Marvel universe that comic readers know.
With that said, let’s answer the question we posed earlier right away. The nine realms are an association of 9 planetary bodies which are each under the quote unquote jurisdiction of asgard, some of them involuntarily. These 9 locations are Asgard, Midgard, Alfheim, Muspelheim, Jotunheim, Nidavellir, Nilfheim, Svartalfheim, and Vanaheim. - Розваги
Sorry that I pronounced Niflheim and Nidavellir wrong. Words are hard!!! Also, Chris Hemsworth pronounced Nidavellir wrong in Infinity War, so don't yell at me if I did (which I did).

Asgard is like the British empire, they conquered entire civilizations with violence and many years later they became the “peaceful” protector of their colonies known as “independent allies”

maybe. to those who speak like these Unfortunately.
@Nuada Airgetlám rome, etc.
*'Babylon'.*
They conquered nothing. Thor Garbagerock just spew bunch of useless retroactive exposition without any context. They have no rule over realms outside of theirs.
If directed and written properly, marvel can make a series about the history of 9 realms which could be the next games of thrones but with best endings(if the writing is good)....similarly, the first 2 thor movies could have been made perfectly awsome if the directions were much better because the history of asgard is worth enough for that.

There's no contradiction between the 9 galaxies shown in The Dark World and the fact that each realm is a single planet. Simply put, each planet (realm) is in one of those 9 galaxies.
They are all in the same galaxy my dude
@@ontos8914 Ok this makes sense for the Yggdrasil , but then explain how Odin gathered the 6 Infinity stones, there is no story of him leaving these 9 realms ! Is just Earth 319 ( i think Captain Marvel earth) MIdgard or the multiverse with all earths are MIdgards meaning there is a multiverse of 9 realms ? Wouldn`t have been easier to get some Infinity stones from another Unverse than time travel, inter-dimensional travel is easier to explain with Dr. Strange's power than the bullshit quantum realm of Ant-man with non existing qunatum leap series ideas that exist at sub sub sub atomic level.
How come the moment Thanos's ship crushed into the top of the machine inveted by the Avengers ( the mirrors on top ) did not cut the ship as the portal used to pass through stopped instantly - mean we see this in cartoons a lot closing portal severing what is going through them.

Footage taken from Thor: God of Thunder
Also footage: God of War
Curious if we'll ever visit Alfheim in the MCU, maybe in Thor: Love and Thunder.
while they are called the 9 realms ied actually say that Asgard and maybe Nidavellir are more classified as space stations, you could also say that Nidavellir is also a dyson sphere it definitely fits the idea.
it makes me wonder if both Asgardians and Dwarfs once had homeworlds at one point in time and that it was maybe destroyed or they moved to their new homes, this could mean that there are still Dwarfs and old Asgardians somewhere out in the cosmos yet to be found.
I have a question where are the other planets mentioned in the MCU located? Like xandar and titan?
@@minasie the 9 realms should not be seen as dimensions or other universes, they are just places that are connected by yggdrasil. All the other worlds exist in the same universe but they are not part of the World tree

12:36 Thor mentioned ‘Nornheim’. The Norns in myth is the three dieties that write and control the fate of both men and gods.
If they are in the MCU, they would easily be some of the most powerful beings in the universe!

Its surprising to know that they talk the same languages XD
No not all
The elves
I love how it basically just seems as if England colonised the entirety of the 9 realms
@@mr.e4902 Or maybe Asgardians some English first and they colonized England, who then colonized the other counties
Plus the Xandarians, the Sakaarans, all of the Guradians of the Galaxy, the Kree, and Thanos all speak English...
The asgardians have an ability we call all spoken
Thus why asgardian can pretty much speak every intelligible language
But
In the guardian of the galaxy for peter quill when he is in prison they gaved him a device that they transplant in his body
So that when we watch the movie we actually see it through them
As the device translates the other species language
So yeah imagine thanos and his troops
They mostly have that device
As they conquer different planets
Thus it makes sense
Asgardians also lives 5000 asgardians years and they can lift tons of weight
And some learn magic
Like loki does and he excels in this domain
But the ability of all spoken is shared among all asgardians
Key Issues wow! You explain it so well! I never had such great understanding of the MCU and it’s timeline inspire of watching so many UA-cam videos!
This is a great video and you’re put in a lot of effort to make it beautiful and easy to follow

Asgard still stands. In Ragnarok, the entirety of the universe is destroyed. Midgard and us included. Hel leads her army of the undead, Tyr and Odin fall to Fenrir, Thor falls to Jormangandr after slaying him and taking 3 steps. The Gods die and their children ascend in their place.
@@heirofthestars Not all the people from Asgard are dead.
There is a quite interesting theory about Odin and his "fake" infinity gauntlet which makes total sense (even with "evedence" in dialogue and other stuff) and so explaines the reason why he stopped at 9 realms
It hurts to even think how different this is from the actual norse mythology
We are missing Alfheim. I hope we see it in the MCU soon.
Ahhh, this video helped me scale asguardians down to they’re proper size in accordance with MCU rules, especially when you said they were misunderstood to be gods, resulting in Norse mythology

Isn't Nidaviller and Svartalfheim supposed to be the same thing? And aren't Helheim and Niflheim supposed to be two separate realms?
Not in the MCU
you scare me in Norse Mythology, yes
In actual Myth, yes, but also, not really, since all the nine realms are part of the same landmass. So Helheim and Niflheim are part of the same area, but are two seperate sections.
Basically the world is divided into 3 areas.
Asgard in the center, with the sub-regions of Alfheim and Vanaheim located within.
Midgard which surrounds Asgard, and is also where Svartalfheim/Nidavaliir is also located, but underground.
And Jotunheim, also sometimes called Utgard, surrounding Midgard, where Niflheim, Muspelheim and Helheim can all be found, with Hel also being underground.
So they are all part of the same world and some are considered subregions of some of the larger ones.
Great explanation!

Bro you forgot the most evil realm..... Anaheim, where the evil god Disney reins supreme
Since U mentioned the Dark elves...when tf theres gonna be a film bout the ESU.
Amazing breakdown
Watching this after playing God of War (PS4)
MCU: Dark elves are evil elves
Actual Mythology: dark elves are dwarfs with vanir blood
Marvel: Jotunheim is the home of Frost Giants.
Actual Mythology: Jotunheim is the home of the Jotnar.
Actual Mythology: Fenrir gets killed by a giant boot
Loki is blood brothers with Odin
Thor is killed by a snake
Fenrir is Lokis son and Hela is his daughter. He also gives birth to Odins 8 legged horse
The MCU didn't really do well with Thor or his world imo

What are the other planets in he solar system and other galaxies, universe, and/or dimensions?
At first I thought they were just planets. Now I’m really confused
Luke Kiely
Same but according to a website it says , “Nine Realms are nine individual worlds that, while located in separate spiral galaxies[2], are systematically connected by the branches of Yggdrasil and orbit Midgard. The inhabitants of the realms are mostly associated with each other rather than the other advanced species residing beyond the realms. Earth, where humanity resides, is one of the Nine Realms, but its inhabitants are considered to be too underdeveloped by the other races to associate with.[3]
Asgard was considered to be the head of the Nine Realms, and its inhabitants, the Asgardians, are arguably the most powerful species in the realms. Odin, the former ruler of Asgard, and his troops act as the protectors of the Nine Realms and even other regions of space. They act as a police force that tries to preserve peace. The Asgardians produced a sister race which settled on the planet Vanaheim, and are referred to as the Vanir. Nidavellir, home of the Dwarves, neighbors Asgard, and a strong relationship is present between the two. The world of Alfheim also lies close to Asgard.[4]”hope this helped lol
