Good to hear from Bob. I was fortunate enough to be there in the great days of the 70's, mainly in Glasgow where these guys were worshipped. I came back from Thailand for the two Glasgow nights of this 2014 tour. Not ashamed to say I cried my eyes out. Happy days. Sleep good Rick, I miss you my friend, you were the best. Quo oh oh oh oh.
@folginator well, quite. It was never fully the Frantic Four on stage for every song unless there happened to be a rare night when Bob was ill and they played without him. Not aware of that.
We mabye never see the frantic four again, but the dutch status quotes are an real good cover band... playing very intense good covers, so their music live forever
It's fascinating to see this now with the knowledge that it didn't continue further. I didn't attend the final gig of the tour as I couldn't be certain it would be the last one with this lineup. Just as I decided not to attend the Taunton gig in 2024, as I couldn't be certain, it would be the last time of that lineup.
Thanks to rossi he didnt let it happen again. Rossi for you wanted Quo to himself. Unfortunately Quo had rossi as leader . Quo wouldn't of died in 1985 . If rossi was not leader
Quo didn't die in 1985. It continued. Record Comoany only wanted Quo if Francis was there. Whether you agree with them, they thought Francis' songs were commercial success stories. Most of Quo's singles had Francis co-writing them. When there was one song Alan wrote and he sung lead on, the record company would only issue it with Francis singing. So he did. Ol' Rag Blues. I think it suited Francis' voice better but there are other songs like Roadhouse Blues and Bye Bye Johnny where they don't sound as good sung by Francis or Rick. I think Backwater should have been a single. So I'm not anti Alan, just a realist. Maybe Francis was wrong to take a more 80s commercial route, and they should have gone Alan's route, but either way, it still needed Francis for the record company to be happy. I'm sure they wanted Rick too. If Quo hadn't owed their record lable, Vertigo, one more record, things would have been quite different I'm sure.
What a shame we'll never see the frantic 4 ever again. RIP RICK .RIP ALAN. Thanks you all ❤

Bob Young was an integral part of the 'Frantic four' along with Andrew Bown. Great to hear him.
Mmm… then it would be the Frantic Six??
Bob's a good song writer

Im glad to say I was there that night for the final fling, never to be forgotten, the Quo will always be remembered for ever

Everyone loved the reunion, except Francis.

Is was the last gig with Alan Lancaster and John Coglan.

Francis never seemed to be happy playing the song's that made him famous.
If Marquerita time was their 1st single it would of died a death.
