Status Quo's Francis Rossi Struggled to Accept the Death of Bandmate Rick Parfitt | Lorraine

Status Quo were huge at the time when sex, drugs, and rock and roll were the norm, but Francis Rossi says that once he'd quit the drugs and alcohol, his friendship with Rick Parfitt became strained, as Rick continued to drink heavily. The pair were inseparable and when Rick died in 2016, Francis reveals that for the first year he often dreamt that Rick was still alive and would join them back on stage. Francis is publishing an autobiography titled 'I Talk Too Much' which takes a look back at his long career and the highs and lows of being a rock and roll star. He's also releasing a new country album with Hannah Rickard similarly titled 'We Talk Too Much'.

I can imagine that Francis Rossi would be a great bloke to have a pint with in the local pub, as he is always cracking jokes and has never taken himself too seriously, despite his band's enormous success after all those years.
I do still really miss Rick and Alan, though. R.I.P Rick Parfitt and Alan Lancaster.
What you see there is Francis's public persona. In private he's much quieter. Rick would be the mate down the pub type.

I saw Status quo in 1974 and I still have a scrap book of cuttings from the new musical express and melody maker. I wrote in my crap book after I saw them " Status quo's the greatest ,the biggest and the best, they're fabulous, magnificent and better than the rest ". I walked out of that gig 10 foot off the ground.

Francis clearly is unable to get emotional. Not because he wants to be but because he doesnt know how to be and he's scared. I've seen enough to know this. Hope he one day gets over that bump, at least if its active in his personal life, and feel better.
The characteristic English reserve is embodied right here with how Francis conducts himself here.

J'avais vu les quo en janvier 78 a saint Etienne au retour de l'entracte la salle était plongée dans le noir et la lumière est revenu progressivement avec les premiers accords de Caroline... lorsque la lumière est revenue Un petit peu on a vu que Francis avait enfilé le maillot de l'équipe de foot de saint Etienne... l'effet ne pouvait être meilleur et Caroline a été joué dans Un délire total avec le public... grand souvenir
