Hey nice video. Straight forward to the point. Did you ever make a video on changing the transmission fluid? Was curious to see how to do it on a manual t. Thanks
Question on the rear diff fluid. I bought the EXACT same type of rear diff fluid but only 2 qts. I also bought friction modifier so I figured that would be the .2 of Fords rear diff fluid capacity of 2.1 qts. Do you think that will be enough or do I really need to buy that 3rd qt to make 2.1qts. I only added 2qts plus friction modifier. 2007 Shelby Gt 5speed
@backcountrybuilds I didn't spill any. You think 2qts and friction modifier is good enough for a non daily driver? 2qts is 64 oz 2.1 qts is 67.2 oz You might lose 2oz of fluid that clings to the inside of the bottles (give or take)
Nice ride ..I have the same year and model of the gt.maybe I'm gonna need to change the oil in the rear differential because it's making a noise in the rear differential when I go around 60
Ik this a year later but it says 2.1 quarts… did you even use the third one? The bottles I got were 32 oz which is 1 quart I got 2 so do you think I need to use a third bottle? Did u fill until it started coming out the hole? Lmk thanks
I’m sure you’re loving it. It’s cool these cars are a dime a dozen, but still a blast. Can’t wait to get the Chevelle put back together! Have a good weekend.
I know this is a year late but I love your pony. Do you still have it? I still have my 2008 GT with 138k miles an I just had to replace the transmission for $3200. How is yours doing?
hello thanks for a video. i have a little question for you please I mean it has nothing to do with the video but I would like to know one thing because I'm going to buy the same car as you... I have a lot of information but this remains for the less a bit wide. how many kilometers do you do with a full tank of gas and approximately what is the average consumption with this car? thanks
Hi there. Forgive me for the lack of metric conversion here, but with a 16 or so gallon tank of gas, it would go a decent distance. Definitely hurts less than filling my 27 gallon tank on my Ram. Anyways, to answer your question, I would get about 20-22 mpg on the highway (this is in the Midwest US, which is pretty flat). Would get about 15-16 mpg around town. Hope this helps!
@@backcountrybuilds when you have that many miles on it without a fluid change it’s probably best to leave it alone. Sometimes when you change it in that scenario something will break later. I’m pretty sure that ford says the fluid never needs to be changed, only if the rear axle was submerged in water.
@@backcountrybuilds i mean when you had the jack stands in the rear at first i couldn’t tell where you had them set it was near the rear bumper\exhaust i’ve never seen that jacking point before but it worked lol

@@ddemier unfortunately, I didn’t. Let me see if I can’t find you a link to a good one.

@backcountrybuilds Nice Ride! If you ever want to part with it I'm looking for another CS for the corral.
Will do. Thanks!

you only need 2 quarts, about to do mine as well an already asked
I just hit 110,000 in my 2008 GT yesterday. I’m hoping to pick up a classic muscle car in the future.

Sounds like an expensive replacement. Unfortunately we moved way North and I sold the car. The new owner is loving it though.

@@backcountrybuilds thanks for your reponse very fast continue like this and thanks for your video :)
If you use royal purple max gear, i believe you dont need to use fords friction mod
Oh, very cool. I’ll have to use RP on the next rear end oil change. Thanks!
did not hear any noise from differential, and oil looked ok, why do you have that check engine sign though?
O2 sensors for cat delete
No gasket? No perma seal?
No I just torqued the bolts to 300ft pounds and wrapped duct tape around the diff pumpkin so it wouldn’t leak
@@backcountrybuilds if it works! 👍
I haven't even checked mine yet and it has over 200 hundred thousand 😮
@@peterparker605 hahaha. I used permatex gasket maker. Ahhh gotcha, definitely worth changing the fluid. Cheap insurance - good luck!
@@backcountrybuilds 🤣 you did. I didn't see any on the pan 🤣
