This method has worked on every coffee machine I have owned. Mr. Coffee, Cuisinart, Keurig, MIL's Hamilton Beach (carafe and K-cup combo). Use 50/50 solution water/white vinegar (household type works better) and fill the carafe. Fille the reservoir.Turn on the machine, hit the button for brew and run 1/2 of the solution through the machine. Turn off the machine. Let the machine set about 20 minutes then re-start the process with the remaining 1/2 carafe of the cleansing mixture. Remove the carafe and look for gunk that has been hiding in the pump and hoses. Next, refill the carafe with water only and repeat the same process. Still see gunk? Add another carafe of fresh water again and turn on the machine and brew clean water. Keep doing this until any minute taste of vinegar is gone.
Does this remove grime only from glass pot or does it also clean the plastic inside the lid, and paper filter cup area? Or does all the plastic need hand clean?

doesn't work as well as you think, look inside even though you rinse it with vinegar and water theirs build up inside check this edges of the tank.
I use a spray bleach, scrub with a long-handled bottle brush, and then rinse thoroughly. Also, after each use I dry the lid with a paper towel and prop the lid open to allow the inside to dry. The icky stuff is probably mold -- even if it's red.
What about the part that gets more disgusting? Where you add the water
