Sad that it's $70 for Canadians, esp. when made by a Canadian. I'll stick with my @noname @nofrills mop. The white cloth lets me see dirt, so I can gage how effective my cleaning has been. The grey handle and navy mop also isn't screaming clashing colours in my small, neutral space, either.
Does it matter how strong the alcohol is for laminate? Regular alcohol is 70% alcohol, but I only have 90%. I'm worried that might be too strong and cause damage.
I’m 16 and just got diagnosed with a dust mite allergy so it’s really important to keep my space clean. My mom offered to clean for me but she works all day and is always exhausted, she also struggles with her mental health. So I decided to do it myself and this video was really helpful!! I ended up cleaning our entire apartment so she wouldn’t have to clean after work.
I have mite allergy too, so does my mom. Staying clean is extremely important. You’re a good kid for thinking of your mom and your health! Keep it up! Not many kids are like you ❤

We used to have a cleaning service every two weeks and they would always get down and wipe the floors with a microfiber cloth and a bucket of floor cleaner/hot water. To this day it's what I still do and it's not as hard or tedious as it sounds and the results are so much better. I have been living in my apartment for over 2 years, and Thanks to your wood floor cleaning information, my original 1926 wood (polyurethane) floors still look like they did when I first moved in. Thank you very much!
I work for a tile and flooring company. To be clear about tile and LVT, they are not actually waterPROOF. They are water resistant. If your tub overflows or a pipe bursts,,you need to clean it up as quickly as possible because moisture can still get underneath them. While the product itself is less likely to be damaged, the grout with tile floors can be damaged and both can get mildew and/or mold can develop under them. Small spills are usually not a problem. It’s also important to seal grout before mopping and please never use toilet bowl cleaner on grout.
Thank you for clarifying that correct they are waterproof as far as not absorbing the water however they do need to be lifted if water gets on her knee that's a lot of people argue with you on but thank you for clarifying that US foreign people in the industry have to clarify that on a regular basis I wish these manufacturers would really stop stating that
@@judycardona3308 what do you mean they have to be lifted if water gets underneath? You mean every time my kid spills juice or water, or my dog has an accident, I have to take the planks UP?!? I am considering this flooring, mostly because my original plan was tile and my husband does not want to do the work to install tile, he wants to lay this lazy easy plastic stuff.
Thank you for that I had a flex hose burst under my kitchen sink and was not present for 10 minutes. When I found shut water off and threw towels and got a water vac 😢 my floors were cork and no problem after we got fans and dehumidifiers. When insurance turned up they said thank God for cork
Wow. You go gal. You checked all the boxes here. I've owned a commercial cleaning business for over 35 years. We specialize in floor care. We've cleaned every kind of floor material you can imagine and literally 100's of 1000's of sq ft of flooring. Your description and knowledge of flooring material is spot on. Honestly I'm amazed at the accuracy of your knowledge and procedures for floor cleaning. My only suggestion is forget the vinegar in your custom cleaning solution. It is not needed. Use a good high quality synthetic detergent. 99% of all floor cleaners are alkaline based cleaners. Your vinegar is acid based and will effectively neutralize your cleaning solution which will not be as effective. And as you said, when it comes to the amount of floor cleaning chemical use a very small amount. Good video
I have to say being in the flooring industry for 26 years just has to be the most educated video I haven't heard in awhile on the proper cleaning of the floors although I'm not 100% in agreeance with the solutions you use I am about 90 to 95% in agreeance with the proper cleaning method so good job I actually gave this video a thumbs up because it's rare that I could find someone who gives proper instruction congratulations great job this one deserves the truth comes up now I see why you have as many followers as your do great job continued success for you my friend
Hi Judy, I would greatly appreciate it if you would please let me know what solutions you recommend for cleaning vinyl plank flooring. I value your expertise by working 26 years in the flooring industry. Thank you😊
At my hospital, the string mops were replaced with the microfiber flat mops years ago. They stack them in a bucket and add enough water to just get them wet. Separate mops are used for the bathrooms and each room to be discarded into a linen bag. They are laundered to be reused the next day. The serious cleaning of the halls are done with floor scrubbers that are so good now, that wet floors signs are only used as a formality. They used to do the same with the microfibers used to clean the tables, toilets, sinks, and other non floor surfaces, but now use the disposable wipes from a dispenser. For these, we use two types. One chlorine bleach based, the other hydrogen peroxide. Of coarse, institutional cleaning is not the same as home cleaning and you are free to do it yourself on chemicals and procedures. Those disposable wipes are pricey. So I use those for spot cleaning in the bathroom in between my weekly thorough maintenance.
My wife asked me to clean the floor do not use any soap on our luxury vinyl flooring she said so I used water and it didn't get the job done then and I tried this and it works great!! My wife loved it!
I have been struggling for years to find the best cleaner and mop for my shiny laminate flooring. I bought the Makers Mop and made the diy cleaner and voilà!! My floors aren’t hazy and streak free!! I’m obsessed with Ms Maker and all her videos with recipes and tips and tricks! Thank you!
I’m a stay at home mom (and I homeschool). I take my job seriously and you have helped me over the years find the right product, clean the right way and tend to my home with deep care and thoughtfulness for my family’s well being. Thank you for your content.❤
If I was your son...only thing I'd be doing is being at home doing what you tell me to do with no back talk or arguing. I'd do all of the cleaning so you don't have to worry with it! I'd help out in all other areas. My only happiness would be to obey you and make you happy!
One of the best videos on floors I've seen out of thousands. VINEGAR, ALCOHOL AND ESSENTIAL OIL ( preference ) folks!!! All 3, if needed, could spotlessly clean an entire home! And I agree, if I had millions, I'd be getting cement stamped flooring no doubt !!! 😂Great video ...applause because this one sums up the correct necessities- simply done.
Best cleaning formula! My eng. wood floors always look dirty. Never thought to add rubbing alcohol. Your formula is better than Bona and way less expensive. My headache of a floor has been solved. I cannot thank you enough for making this video. Now I want to try the tool you recommended. 😁
I have had hardwood floors for 28 years and never found anything that cleaned without streaks. I am so glad I found this channel the solution works great and now I have clean shiny floors. I hope I can find something for my tiled floors on this channel too. 😊
I'm 76 years old and you DIY formulas are excellent, with no harsh chemicals and weird perfume smells! I watched this video in the fall of 2022 and used the laminate DIY to maintain my flooring in my condo, Worked so much better than the Shaw Floor Cleaner recommended by the builder! (We were given a mop with microfiber heads, a bottle of Shaw floor cleaner and told NOT to use Bona.) Only used the Shaw about once a month because if I used it every week there was a built up on the floors. This DIY formula was wonderful and I was able to easily maintain my floors. I used it for constant quick cleans when I was selling my condo last year! I moved into smaller, new condo with Luxury Vinyl Plank, that supposedly is a commercial grade product, but it is like peel and stick?! Bona was recommended? I have used you DIY formula with great results! I love your videos ! Thanks for such simple, easy recipes for safe cleaning! Margaret G. Lowell, MI
I tried your formula for my laminate floors and they look better than they have for years. I was just using a spray bottle with water and it always left streaks, even though the floors were cleaner. Now they shine! Thank you.
I have scraped up old hardwood floors throughout my house except the kitchen. We replaced the kitchen floor about a year ago & put in the Luxury Vinyl. It is very pretty. I have been using Swiffer or generic wet mops. It does tend to get sudsy so I will rinse of some of it before putting on the mophead. It does make cleaning my floor very easy.
I'm a retired an engineer, so I'd go with polished concrete. I love the way you break out the different topics in the notes with times. I can watch what I want or later I can go back and review a specific topic. UA-camrs that don't go this I don't watch much.
I absolutely love concrete! The stamps they have to make it look like wood is so cool too. When we build our home in a few years (hopefully wood will be cheaper then lol) I want that throughout the house.
Love my Maker’s mop! So easy to use, very light, and leaves my hardwood floors shiny and spotless! I had a shoulder injury and and could still mop the floors without much effort or pain.
Thanks for your video. Sometimes I use an attached plain water bottle with a microfiber cloth on my mop to clean my laminate. Every once in awhile I do steam clean it. I have 3 steam cleaning modes on my Bissell power fresh, which uses less to highest amount of steam and attach microfiber cloths on the mop head. So, I put it on the lowest setting. If you are going to steam clean, the key to do it properly is to never mop over an area constantly or allow it to remain in one spot.
I've used steam cleaner on the lowest setting in my apartment for 5 years. Key is to be quick and not to do it too often. I also quickly mop after with a dry microfiber cloth, just in case. Never have had any problems and the air in the apartment is so much nicer after steam mopping. My bathroom is tiled, so there I can go to town with the steamer 😆
I really enjoy your videos, thank you for them. I did want to say I spent over a year trying to decide which luxury vinyl planks to go with and none of them really passed scratch tests for me. We did go laminate (waterproof up to 72 hours) and frankly we love it. It's German made, has great emissions ratings, and so far it's been pretty bulletproof. It feels really nice under bare feet, doesn't leave foot prints or paw prints like many of the vinyl planks did for us. In fact, at times there have been 7 dogs (including a Saint Bernard) scampering across it and playing on it. The manufacture says you can use a steam mop, but still never would haha. This held up so much better in our at home tests than any vinyl plank. Rather than get hung up on "it's a pile of different layers with a photo of something" understand the different flooring types definitely fit different lifestyles just fine. Unless you have actual hardwood, everything is just a pile of something. Like LVP is literally plastic sheets. :)
We went with luxury vinyl. We are in our 80s and the softness of vinyl is better for old knees. It is also easy to clean. Our floors look like wood but aren’t! I would recommend this for anyone with arthritic knees
Since I had lots of time during the COVID shutdown I installed LVP throughout my entire home. I love it especially since I have pets and it has proven to be very durable.
I'm I the process of renovating my living room and dining room. I have mixed feelings about LVP. I feel like it's more convenient since I have a dog but I'm afraid would downgrade my house since it's cheaper floor. What's your take on that? Help!
My sister and I have been cleaning beauty salons for over 15 years. Presently at age 70 we are just doing one on Sunday mornings. We are bartering...we get our hair cut and colored free every month plus $200.00. We only work for two hours . It is hard work but much easier when two people are doing it. We do not take a break. I have done it by myself and it takes over 4 hours. The owner is lucky because we are flexible depending on what happens to be going on..prom week, holidays, etc. We even take care of their plants. The whole place is laminate wood. We only use water from a swifter. I will use your cleaning formula from now on. Thanks for the short concise video.
Love your videos! This one helped me a lot. I moved into hardwood floor apt in Portugal! Gotta say, I do NOT like them, never have. They are cold, can be squeaky, worry about damage, and I think more difficult to clean. Too each their own but I think carpets make a room feel cozier, add warmth, color (other than a wood brown), and yes...need to be vacuumed, and professionally cleaned every few years - but I will be so happy when I can get carpet back!
I have and love my hardwood floors. I have Cumaru and they are really durable. I also have carpet because my husband really likes carpet in family rooms and bedrooms, and we have laminate in bathrooms that are going to go out the door when we remodel those spaces. We use Luxury Vinyl in our rental properties because they are fairly durable but defiantly not scratch resistant like many people think and are told by floor specialists. Thanks for videos that I can recommend to tenants who always ask about cleaning floors. I will recommend your videos.
Last years we replaced all of our floors (the house had 7 different types including the original 1973 linoleum in the laundry room) with luxury vinyl throughout except for the foyer and bathrooms which are tile. FYI, LV is not entirely “scratch resistant” as they claim. Sure you don’t get deep groves like with hardwood, but it does get scratched up. After a year of living with these floors, I’m not sure if my dream floors would be LV, but I am certain they wild NOT be anything with grout! 😜 Well at least not in the bathrooms.
I’d go with traditional, thick hardwood floors everywhere except laundry room/utility room, mud room/entryway, basement, and bathrooms. Those rooms I’d either do a luxury vinyl plank or a nice tile with underfloor heating in bathrooms. I’ve got major allergies but love my pets, so wall to wall carpet is a serious no-go for me. I’d rather put down some nice area rugs in specific areas and be able to clean the rest of my house with a dust mop.
I’m doing Luxury Vinyl. Love it so far. Only use a mildly damp mop on it. Just a little moisture picks ups the dust and lint. Have not had any major spills.
We live on the top floor of our condo and had water damage from a hurricane several years ago. Had to rip up our wood floors 😢 and decided to install luxury vinyl planks…well, love the look but hate the “foot feel”…it ALWAYS feels dirty to me. It has held up well, just not sure I would do it again for that reason…thanks for the cleaning tips!
Thank u so much for addressing luxury vinyl flooring! Could u review the dual vacuum/mop combos and which are best for luxury vinyl, for example bissel crosswave?
@@romymccoy3013 i bought the bissell crosswave pet at Costco (couple years ago) and love it. It vacuums then i can switch to mop setting . There is a dedicated cleaner for "all surfaces" that doesn't leave a residue and is safe for pets. There are other dual cleaners out there but do not have the option to switch from vacuum to mop independently. Thats why i like the bissell
I prefer hard floors. Hate carpets holds in too much odors and makes my sinuses and allergies worse. I have following you for awhile. Love cleaning and you have given me so many great ideas. Great content as always. Look forward to your next video. Thanks so much!
My dream home would have beautiful hardwood floors like the olden days and I may even have some carpet in the bedrooms because I actually love carpet!! Carpet is excellent for stairs too because it’s much quieter to walk on and not slippery!!
I LOVE your mop! I bought it when it first came out and it works like no one's business! Thanks, Melissa! My dream floor would either be Terrazzo Tile or stamped concrete, smooth but not slippery that could be deadly for this old gal.
@@mariabennett1151 still concerned about my natural hardwood floors (old finish), cannot afford to have refinished but still want them to be clean and look clean...kind of scary to me because of no water to use in cleaning? Help please!
@@conchyruiz2073 The very first comment is a link to the mop from @CleanMySpace I’ve also had one since they first came out (it’s probably been a couple of years now) and it’s held up very well and is definitely my most used mop!
My new Granny flat is *nearly ready,* and the floor is Lux Vinyl throughout - thank you for the recipe and tips on cleaning it! One of my fav Feng Shui practioners (Amanda Gibby Peters) suggests using a few drops of cinnamon essential oil on the broom, which I love! I'm thinking I may do that for my floor spray - the cinnamon adds a nice energetic clearing.
I recently had huge problem with laminate floors. I had leak under kitchen sink which then seeped up thru floors, warpeing entire floor. I replaced it with luxury vinyl plank. Thanks for advice on cleaning
I love my Maker’s Mop! I recently started using it instead of the Swiffers I used to use. It’s the best, especially for the walls baseboards and corners!! We had a spill during dinner, and it was the best at soaking it all up!!
We put lvp in our large home before we sold it, glad I wasn’t living long in it, didn’t like the sound when walking on it and it seemed to show everything even though it was light, moved to a home with hardwood, love it, love the way it feels underfoot, just vacuum and mop with a damp mop
My finished hardwood floor installers told me to never use vinegar on them (and even added the words, 'no matter what anyone tells you'). I use Bona only.
You mean the wood they lay down now? My hardwood floor is 65 years old and REAL wood. Not engineered crap. So, yours would need a different cleaner for the fake stuff.
I appreciate your cleaning videos very much - but as to wanting stained concrete flooring, I do have to add that hard floors such as stained concrete or granite take their toll very quickly on your legs, knees, and feet, and require other precautions - shoes, carpets, support slippers. If you have a small house - great. If not, buy some great shoes, and some support pads for the stoves and other areas where you'll be standing a lot. :-]
I just had floors replaced and really wanted stained cement but I couldn't trust myself to diy it or find a contractor who didn't lose all the color in their face when I mentioned it. Thank you for another great and helpful video.
We've just moved house and gone from real wood sealed with varnish to, I think, laminate. Having just watched the video I'm off to check what it is and make up the appropriate recipe to clean the floor. Thank you - you're a life saver (or floor saver).
Holy s**t you read my mind, I so agree on the concrete floors and forget about everything else- So simple, nice, and easiest to upkeep. I really don’t think people consider practicality as much as aesthetic when thinking about buying, renovating or making a home!
Melissa, thank you so much for this video! I have seen so much conflicting information on how to clean my laminate floors. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that you shouldn't use a steam mop but luckily I only did that on my small dining room which has an area rug over it anyway. It didn't ruin it it just took the sheen a pretty dramatically. I would have never thought about putting rubbing alcohol in a floor solution! Now I know.
If it weren’t for the upkeep, I love carpeting. And as someone who loves the natural look, finished hardwood floors, as well. But yet, there’s something strangely beautiful about painted and polished concrete. So I’d go there, as well. 😊
Thank you so much for this video! We had LVP installed throughout our house when we first bought it and I have yet to figure out the best way to clean it. This was very informative 👍
I have Pergo from the mid '90s throughout my lower level and running a robovac nightly along with using a vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and water combo has kept it looking decent for the last 20 years I've had the home. I use a 1:1:1 formula, but it's essentially is the same.
We have been demoing our bathroom and subsequently there is dust all over my LVP in the main room. It needs a major scrub down. Thanks for the homemade cleaner recipe. Will be doing that today!
We wanted polished concrete or wood look tile, but the tile was going to cost $15k and nobody does polished concrete where i live so they charge a fortune instead of it being a cheaper option. We settled for vinyl planks, but it turns out we're getting plain vinyl 😒 I was super disappointed until I realised it should be a whole lot easier to clean plain vinyl rather than vinyl planks. And hopefully I can get it replaced in the future along with my kitchen cupboards and bench tops 🤞
I just moved into a home that has finished hardwood and I love it! It's so easy to clean. There's tile in the bathroom that I absolutely hate, and vinyl in the kitchen and laundry room that I can't replace soon enough. I'm thinking of going with waterproof laminate for those. We'll see. :)
Thanks for the recipe and great instruction! We recently moved into a new apartment with luxury vinyl floors. Now I can clean them right the first time.
Before you use any formulas that this young lady is giving out to please check with the manufacturer all of the floor that's in your home because you do not want to utilize them without checking first although they are seemingly harmless you don't want to do them until you check with the manufacturer most manufacturing companies recommend Bona only the bone or products are phenomenal they have them for each individual product hardwood laminate and vinyl just air on the side of caution when it comes to the actual formula part but the overall instructions were phenomenal that is very impressive that
Ok i literally just mopped my laminate flooring yesterday and ughhhh sticky and streaky!. I was searching because i always had residue and am fed up lol. No soap you say???? Ok im gonna try the spray bottle and no soap mixture..... yup thats it😅 THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! 35yo learning new tricks 😂❤
So funny you want polished cement floors because I have that in my basement and I actually want to cover them with vinyl ☺️ It's been suggested that I keep them because it's a great type of flooring, especially in my laundry room, but honestly, I've never heard or seen cement floors before buying this house. I would love a how to cleaning video because I'm sure I'm doing it wrong lol and and explanation on why you would love this type of flooring and why they are so great. I also have 2 of the 3 types of flooring in this video and have absolutely been cleaning them incorrectly. Thanks as always for the knowledge!
I spray cleaner on my floors (luxury vinyl) with a garden pump sprayer, use a soft brush to scrub it to get all the dirt and whatever else up, then I use my bissell crosswave to suck everything up. I only use water in the crosswave to rinse. I dog sit so these floors get dirty. Regular mop and bucket I have to go over it 3-4 times, getting clean water each time of course, before the water isn't really dark brown. On the hardwood and laminate I have to be gentler (no spraying water on it for example. I wont even use my crosswave) but those seem to get cleaner easier. 2 rounds with a mop and bucket is all they need. I think dirt settles into the texture of the vinyl planks making it harder to get up but also allows it to build up more.
I am so grateful I found YOU! Your video format is perfection. You explain everything in such a clear and concise manner. I just ordered the mop and clothes. Thank you for sharing so much cleaning knowledge!
Ooooh all I could think of when you said polished cement floors was how awful that would be to slip and fall on and how uncomfortable it is to stand on all day. They are pretty floors though!!
I came here to see what was better fr my wooden floor and I love your sarcastic nonchalant attitude 🤣🤣 it fits u for some reason lol you're great! Thanks for the info!!
I must’ve watched more than a dozen videos about how to clean hardwood floors as my 1920 home has hardwood floors throughout. All the advice seems to be very inconsistent and contradictory for example some people say never to use vinegar on your hardwood floors other people say it’s fine, some people say to use a store-bought product like Bona, other people say it will ruin the finish… etc. In any case most people agree that using excess amount of water, or a steam mop is a bad idea. End it definitely is a good idea to dust mop your floors every day. And if you have a rule about not wearing shoes in the house that will also help keep your floors cleaner.
My house is half vinyl, half carpet. My aim is to polish all the hardwood floor boards eventually (hi-set queenslander house in Australia). Our previous house had extra wide polished hoop pine and it still looks fantastic after decades of wear and tear.
Definitely marble durable and easy to clean. I have hardwood floors all scratched up from dogs I call them character marks. And you're right definitely no steam mop on real hardwood floors
Thank you for your video - I cleaned my beautiful laminate - cherry look - with wrong cleaner and now cannot get rid of streaks and haze . I made the mistake of googling instead of you tube - to correct - I mopped with vinegar and hot water let set a min - rinsed with clear water - no good - then decided my problem I was still using Ocedar spin mop - rinsed but wet. Ok then I change to spraying zep and a dry microfiber mop head - better but still not where they were - I am just sick - floors are super clean but streaked and hazy ! Will the alcohol and vinegar solution bring back shine ?!😢
Hi, Thank you for the tips. We are about to put new floor. Thought it would be easy. It is not. 2 cats and a small house where we move furniture as needed. We were so sure that there would be a wooden floor with heat. Now we are inside air air and elements. Vinyl carpet versus wood and laminate. If you have put a donkey between 2 hay bales or a wind vane in anxious wind. We spin.
I had bamboo flooring, loved it! The only thing that would have made it better is radiant heat below it. I use one of those steamer mops with diluted Simple Green on the rental laminate and vinyl floors. I use semi-disposable wash cloths on the mop. Wash em until too dirty to deal with then toss.
I’m not sure if this will make a difference but there are now laminate waterproof floors. At home depot they advertise that you can use a steam mop on them. But I’m not sure if it is worth the risk
OMG never would I have wall to wall carpet!!! We are renting and have beautiful hardwood floors that we absolutely love. Never want anything else. Of course for entryways and bathrooms I would prefer some sort of great tile or stone (maybe marble)
I would rethink concrete floors. I live in a 1950s rehabbed office building with 18" thick concrete floors with vinyl laid right over the concrete - no sub flooring. Everything that falls on it either bounces or breaks, including thick drinking glasses and Corelle dishes. They are also too hard and cold on your bare feet.

Does it matter how strong the alcohol is for laminate? Regular alcohol is 70% alcohol, but I only have 90%. I'm worried that might be too strong and cause damage.

Thank you for your information!
Good video
What would you replace the vinegar with for laminate?
Vinegar baking soda lemon juice water works best
What would you suggest for natural slate tile? I have tried so many different mop types and cleaners but never sure of what I am doing!
I thought rubbing alcohol is bad for laminate
I have to say being in the flooring industry for 26 years just has to be the most educated video I haven't heard in awhile on the proper cleaning of the floors although I'm not 100% in agreeance with the solutions you use I am about 90 to 95% in agreeance with the proper cleaning method so good job I actually gave this video a thumbs up because it's rare that I could find someone who gives proper instruction congratulations great job this one deserves the truth comes up now I see why you have as many followers as your do great job continued success for you my friend
Have you ever heard of a period? No, not that kind…but the more common one.
HAHA...Yes smarty..However, I verbally recorded that comment. At least my comment was useful.
Hi Judy, I would greatly appreciate it if you would please let me know what solutions you recommend for cleaning vinyl plank flooring. I value your expertise by working 26 years in the flooring industry. Thank you😊
@@judycardona3308 would be more useful if you provided info on what you disagree with and what to do instead
Yeah typical know it all, has everything to say about something not being right, but nothing to say about HOW to do it Correctly
I have a house that I clean, and she has the system you are talking about. They are really nice.
I’m a SAHM/homeschooling mom of 5 myself! It’s an job with no breaks and I NEED clean floor!
We’re building a new house and have opted to install luxury vinyl planks. Durable, waterproof, lots of colors, and good for pets.
They are not waterproof just water-resistant.

I tried your formula for my laminate floors and they look better than they have for years. I was just using a spray bottle with water and it always left streaks, even though the floors were cleaner. Now they shine! Thank you.
What percentage alcohol do you use?
No kidding. I follow another UA-camr who put out a two hour cleaning video and I suggested time stamps and got a polite no.
I absolutely love concrete! The stamps they have to make it look like wood is so cool too. When we build our home in a few years (hopefully wood will be cheaper then lol) I want that throughout the house.
I work for a concrete company and our hallway is polished concrete in red/black colors. love it.
I grew up with dyed polished cement, no thank you!
The new room in my house 🏠 is full concrete
Love my Maker’s mop! So easy to use, very light, and leaves my hardwood floors shiny and spotless! I had a shoulder injury and and could still mop the floors without much effort or pain.
Where did you find it?
Can you share the brand you used please?
Can you please share which brand you bought?
We went with luxury vinyl. We are in our 80s and the softness of vinyl is better for old knees. It is also easy to clean. Our floors look like wood but aren’t! I would recommend this for anyone with arthritic knees
Thanks..
Who would agree with me that this is best cleaning channel existing on internet? :)
I totally agree!! Love this cleaning channel-it’s the only one I watch!!
I'm choosing Luxury vinyl planking all the way!
We built our dream home with LVP! So easy. I’ve had wood, antique wood and engineered but I love the ease of this stuff!
Love your mop 👍 I have chronic back issues & this mop makes most cleaning doable.
My cleaning lady loves it too. Highly recommended! ❤️👍🇨🇦
Thank you so much. I just re did my condo with luxury vinyl . Love it. Now I know how to clean it
I’d go with traditional, thick hardwood floors everywhere except laundry room/utility room, mud room/entryway, basement, and bathrooms.
I have hard wood except in the kitchen, pantry and bathrooms, they are ceramic tile. It has helped our allergies so much.
I’m doing Luxury Vinyl. Love it so far. Only use a mildly damp mop on it. Just a little moisture picks ups the dust and lint. Have not had any major spills.
What solution do u use?
@@bania6180 Just water. I was told I could use the Swiffer Wet Ones but haven’t needed them.

It has held up well, just not sure I would do it again for that reason…thanks for the cleaning tips!
Thank u so much for addressing luxury vinyl flooring! Could u review the dual vacuum/mop combos and which are best for luxury vinyl, for example bissel crosswave?
Yes I would love to watch this.
I second this!
I almost bought the bissel crosswave today , but deff need more info on this !
Me too... was wondering about those...
Hardwood flooring all the way! 💕
Carpet is excellent for stairs too because it’s much quieter to walk on and not slippery!!
yep
I can’t give up carpeted stairs should I ever get a house with stairs. I got too many close calls falling up or down wooden stairs
I LOVE your mop! I bought it when it first came out and it works like no one's business! Thanks, Melissa! My dream floor would either be Terrazzo Tile or stamped concrete, smooth but not slippery that could be deadly for this old gal.
I love it!

I love my Maker’s Mop! I recently started using it instead of the Swiffers I used to use. It’s the best, especially for the walls baseboards and corners!! We had a spill during dinner, and it was the best at soaking it all up!!
Don’t you agree wider mops are more efficient? Why fold them up?
We put lvp in our large home before we sold it, glad I wasn’t living long in it, didn’t like the sound when walking on it and it seemed to show everything even though it was light, moved to a home with hardwood, love it, love the way it feels underfoot, just vacuum and mop with a damp mop

Same here. That’s what my hardwood installer suggested ‘Bona’.

You mean the wood they lay down now? My hardwood floor is 65 years old and REAL wood. Not engineered crap. So, yours would need a different cleaner for the fake stuff.
@@miketheyunggod2534 I have solid wood (not engineered) floors, but thanks.
I have been adding Tide (1tsp) to a five gallon bucket of hot wafer and we have vinyl. I like how it smells and cleans.
TERRAZO is the answer,is so beautiful!! 😍
We're putting in tile that looks like dark hard wood with a tiny grout, and new carpet in all of the bedrooms. So glad I've found your channel
I would go synthetic grass all over the place with pink flamingos in my living room and sunset wallpaper
I would go terrazzo (sp?) which is like agregate concrete with lots of pebbles and stones which is then beautifully polished.

Thank you for your time and help with everything cleaning the house. I appreciate your homemade recipes of cleaners
Yes, thumbs up for all three of the hard floors you mentioned.
I’ve been using a steam mop on my engineered hardwood floors for over 10 years. They look great and I know the floors are sanitized.
Be wary as floor ages and finish wears as any pit, scratch or slit will fill with moisture, which will erode over time.
I came here to see what was better fr my wooden floor and I love your sarcastic nonchalant attitude 🤣🤣 it fits u for some reason lol you're great! Thanks for the info!!
I prefer hardwood flooring because it’s easier to keep clean especially when your roommate has a lot of fur. Thanks for sharing your wisdom 🙏🏼
We just had our floors redone with hardwood. Previously had tile and carpet. We LOVE our new wood floors!
Polished stained concrete is my dream floor. When my husband and I build our home we agreed on having concrete floors!😉👍🏻
My house is half vinyl, half carpet. My aim is to polish all the hardwood floor boards eventually (hi-set queenslander house in Australia). Our previous house had extra wide polished hoop pine and it still looks fantastic after decades of wear and tear.
I like hardwood floors. This video was awesome. Thank you
My daughter said her housekeeper uses 1/4 cup vinegar in the mop water bucket + 1 tbsp Tide laundry detergent. Her laminate floors look great!
Definitely marble durable and easy to clean. I have hardwood floors all scratched up from dogs I call them character marks. And you're right definitely no steam mop on real hardwood floors
I just put luxury vinyl in my kitchen and bathroom and I love love love love it
💌 I like the old fashion look so I'd probably go with tile. I am thinking that it would depend on the type of home I was decorating.
My rental has laminate flooring and always looks dirty and cloudy. I will definitely try your diy mixture. Thanks for sharing and God Bless 💜🙏🏾
Love your inspirational videos & products! Please make a video on a diy cleaner for tile floors. Is the alcohol, vinegar, water mixture ok?

OMG never would I have wall to wall carpet!!! We are renting and have beautiful hardwood floors that we absolutely love. Never want anything else. Of course for entryways and bathrooms I would prefer some sort of great tile or stone (maybe marble)
I have marble I. My bathroom and hate it. Hard to clean grout and it is freezing cold,
Informative as always. 🥂🍾
We are remodeling the kitchen and we are doing painted cement! I currently have laminate.
I would go to hardwood flor, natural light wood color, it gives light to the room, and natural wood is relaxing to me. Thank you for great content
Also , as a rehab RN I can tell you they are VERY hard on the back, legs and feet.
