Sir Sterling Moss was not only the greatest driver never to have won the F1 title, but he was also one of the greatest drivers never to have won at Le Mans.
Thanks for reminding us of 24hrs du le mans 2023 was run this weekend. Viewing it here in the states, I get a kick out of this vid which suggests the race announcer is speaking english. Hey, jaguar won ... which is why this particular vid was selected. A british car having won twice since this vid. Congrats to the linked-to Ferrari team winning the 2023 le mans. The first time a ferrari has won the race since 1965. That was just before the iconic ford gt40 dominated the race. A US car hasn't won since (cadillac finishing 3rd + 4th this year). Does the states even know caddy runs this race?
Marvelous stuff. I wasn`t quite 2 years old at the time, wish I`d been more like 22.
Outstanding! Thank you for this step-back-in-time video :-)
Amazing that top notch teams were working on their cars in local farmyards. Definitely a lost age in Motorsport.

The English commentary at certain points, was done by Raymond Baxter.

You're just a baby!!!! (I was 4; hahahaha!!!!) 😜😜
I wish I still had my Matchbox GT 40 in white with blue stripes 👍🏁
@@johngriffiths118 I had all kinds of them too; built an HO scale track on an 8x4 board with scenery and buildings and everything. Ah.........
Those mass starts back then were really something. Fraught with danger ⚠️
@@mikeymike9118 You'd think that after '55, they'd be a lot more safety conscious, but no.
I think some of these cars can be found and witnessed in some abandoned places videos.
Why did Jaguar withdraw factory support after 1955?
