It's April 15th 2024. I'm leaving this here as a message to anyone who reads this. Cherish all the important people in your lives. We never know when their clocks will end. Some live longer than others. Most Importantly cherish your loved ones. Today marks the final chapter of someone important to me. I'm tired of everyone dying. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
It’s so true, you never know when your last breath will be. I just got out of the doctors office, I am fortunate enough that the news that I got today were good news. The last couple of weeks had been really tough for my mind. This weeks made reflect a lot about what I’m doing with my life. About how much I really love my family and much I love living. It might sound silly but many times we just take life for granted but it’s not. Life is full of good and bad surprises. Sending you a big hug🫂 🤍
When the medics leave and now you have to figure out what to do with your deceased loved one is the hardest grim reality I've faced. Nothing affects me now.
I love Neil and I don’t like Joe Rogan but it’s so dumb that he pulled his music. 99% People who listen to Joe Rogan’s podcast have no clue who Neil Young even is.
My dad had a heart of gold. As he would say "i give till it hurts" he was always there no matter what. He has passed away and i know he passed worrying about me. Its because of him im the man i am today. THANK YOU DAD I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU
My little brother was 36 years old when he decided to stop the dialysis he had been on for 2 years, while waiting for a kidney. None of us brothers and sisters were even allowed to be tested to be a donor because more than half of us were also diabetic, and it was just a matter of time before the other half would be too. So we took him home. All he would do was listen to Niel Young music. By the 3rd day of him being home he began to slip into a coma. I was so burnt out just listening to these songs over and over, so I decided to change the CD. All of a sudden my brother says "Turn that back on" omg I didn't even know he was still aware of what was going on around him. So I put it back on. His absolute favorite song was Heart of Gold. My brother passed away that day as Niel Young sang his favorite songs. At his funeral we had " Heart of Gold" as the theme. A giant gold heart made of flowers was laid upon his coffin, and as they lowered him into the ground Heart of Gold was playing in the background. My little brother did have a Heart of Gold. If he thought there was even an iota of a chance for him to get that kidney I know he would have held on longer. Nothing worked to ease his pain. He had eye surgery two different times because he had lost his vision. Being diabetic since he was 11years old had ruined all his other organs by the time he was 25. So he said he was done, couldn't do it anymore. He was tired ,and tired of being tired . At that point he wasn't even living anymore, just existing day to day. In closing I'd like to say thank you to Mr.Young for the gift of awesome music. Your music was the last thing he heard and the last words he ever spoke was him telling me to " turn that back on". I miss you baby brother, Rest in Peace with your big ol HEART OF GOLD!!
Thank you for your story, it has made me rethink about the damage I'm doing to my health with drugs and alcohol. People would love to have my good health and here I am destroying it. Thank you. I will try to get some help.

I'm putting together a collection of my favorite songs from 1972. When I was 16 I got an old junk car from a farmer that was abandoned in his field. It was a 58 Impala rag top, I fixed it up, installed an 8track player in it, bought 'Top Hits Of 72' and thus began the greatest year of my life! To this day the music of 72 has remained my favorite music ever!

This tune by Neil Young is definitely his most famous: THE GOLD SINGLE- HEART OF GOLD WHICH HIT # 1 IN 1972. I haven’t stopped listening to this song; even after over 50 years. Kenneth Huang. 4/07/24.
I'll be 70 in a couple of weeks. I'm lucky to have been young in the 70s and early 80s. (I wouldn''t change a thing. I had my Camaro and Firebirds. I was too young for the '69 Charger, lol.)
My dad has an acoustic guitar and as far as I know, this is the only song he’s ever known how to play on it. He used to play it for me as a little kid and taught me the words. My relationship with my parents is rocky at this point, but this song will always have nice memories associated with it
This song reminds me of the days or I would help my father in the garden as a young boy tilling up the land and then picking the vegetables in the fall. We'd sit on the back porch together and talk while he would smoke cigarettes and drink his beer while I ate watermelon until I got old enough to drink beer with him. I miss that man so much....
Listening to this song when my son is almost born . My Dad passed away in 2016. He loved Neil young and all the classics. What an emotional moment for myself.
Still searchin' for mine since the age of 15 in 1972. Thought I found her in 2004 but it turned out to be fool's gold. Neil loathed this song. Still think it's one of his best.
RIP MY AMAZING BEAUTIFUL MOTHER........U ARE GONE BUT NOT EVER FORGOTTEN MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MISS U MORE THAN I CAN DESCRIBE!!!!! ❤️ I HOPE IM MAKING U PROUD!!!!! LOVE U!!!
I write this post with tears in my eyes. This song means a lot to me. My father, who recently passed away, was playful in a band with Neil Young music and taught his grandson his first chords to this song. My father had chosen this song and wrote down all the chords in a notebook for him, this was 11 years ago. Both grandsons now play the guitar. Heart of Gold 🕯✨️🪽💛, Dad this one is for you! ❤
Remind me of my grandpa a lot. He really loved this masterpiece and listened to this everyday. He's the reason, why I like this kind of songs very much.💖
@@officialneilyoung6428 Thank you so much Mr. Young, I wished your heart of Gold will be in everyone's hearts.....herein after............. ........God bless Mr. Young......
My dad (he was my grandfather, but he raised me more than anyone else did) died two days ago. He and I used to listen to this song all the when I was a kid, and he’d always look at me and say “You know, you have a heart of gold.” He was the one with a heart of gold. He was my hero. I am so heartbroken. I feel like I’m suffocating. I’m sitting beside his grave right now at 4:13 AM. I’m drunk and I wanted to share one more beer with him so came out here and played this song one more time for him and poured one out for him. I’ll miss him forever. RIP, Poppa. You were the greatest.
I love how Linda Ronstadt sounds in the background toward the end. She really makes her presence felt with her delivery. James Taylor sings backup on this song and sounds great on it too. Such an awesome song!
Had the privilege of loving this song as a young boy, and it surely inspired me, as I am now 53 years old, and still searching for that heart of gold, and will do that to the end of my days.
I remember playing this song over and over again on my record player back in the mid-seventies when I was attending business school to please my father. Coming into business school from a barrio in New Mexico, where I had been a sixth grade teacher, this and other Neil Young songs made me a little less lonely, a little less alienated. Thank you, Neil Young!
In this album, i love the strength of the drums, the rythms, the harmonica, and the bottleneck parts sometimes that accompany the folk guitare and Neil Young's voice.
Sorry to hear about your brother Caroline. All i can tell you is that we are not eternal in this life and one day you'll get to hug him and see him again one day... In the meantime stay strong and lift your head up and make your brother proud.....
I couldn't agree more man... So soothing,, and such a full sound. Listen near the end, you can hear Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor singing back up. A lot of talent going on in this song !
I grew up with his music, ❤️🌹My brother actually has his kids knowing every word on all songs & they were born in 2004 & they live Neil Young!!!! His music is timeless!!!
The movie was great 👍 . This is my favorite album . Of course Neil could sing anything. Your music will never die. I have a nine year old who loves your music . We love you Neil 😗
I like everything Neil does . Music, videos , movies , anything ! Back in our day the music was great. Nothing compared to it . Neil, Bob Dylan , Moody Blues and many more got us through some hard times . We shared music and love . These are good memories. We love you Neil . You are our universe .
@@officialneilyoung6428 Since 1968 . I am an old hippie who fell in love with Neil Young along with hundreds more back in the day . When I say we love you, we do. Your music is still ❤️

This song introduced me to Neil Young. Heard it on the radio and immediately went out to buy Harvest. I was not disappointed and then looked for anything he had recorded up until then. Highlight was to see him live at Hyde Park in 2009.
This album is obviously an all time classic but recently it has put my 3 month old asleep every single time. It's his voice and the harmonica I think. It has become my favourite album of all.
I was listening to this song during a very hard time in my life where I was in an abusive relationship. I’m glad I left when I did before my life had ended right infront of my eyes. I listen to this song and it reminds me of the lonely days where my heart was full of pain
A beautiful girl next to my room in my dorm used to play this nonstop on her record player every night & I could not get enough of it, just like her!!! My fav’ of Neil Young’s repertoire!!! What everyone is looking for until they find it!!! That heart of gold!
god this song is hitting so hard with me right now. i recently got my heart broken (in a big way, in a lot of ways), and i'm still hurting. this song speaks to the part of me so desperate for a love that loves me the way i love them. i want to give my entire heart, body and soul to someone, but it seems that somehow isn't enough, or is too much. i just want to find the one, the one who gets it, and i so stupidly thought i did, but here i am again, without it, without them. despite the raw hurt i believe in true love still, i refuse to believe that humans have centuries of art about something that doesn't exist. it has to be out there, and i will wait everyday for it to come to me. true love is not a fantasy. i think this pain is the price we all must pay, everyone gets their heart broken sometimes, and that's all so we can find the one to take care of our heart as we deserve, it's out there, i'm waiting, i'm gonna get it.
Father's Day, 2024... putting my 9 yr old daughter to bed, playing this song so she'll have memories of classic songs and her dad to share with her kids. ❤
First time I heard HOG was in a public library 1972, headphones plugged into a turn table. 8th grader with my buddies. 50 plus years later Neil Young still rocks. I remember listening to Hey hey my my in the Saudi desert in 1991 on my walkman star gazing. Thank you NY...
I remember hearing this song leaving my hometown n moving to Phoenix to start a new life..now I'm lying n a beg suffering cancer n just my brother to care for me.
Back to early 1995 months, when I was starting to put attention to local radio stations and my attention to a beautiful young neighbour led me to my first simple and meaningful I love You I wanna live... i wanna give...

If you've not been searching for a heart of gold all your life, stop, pause and think of how you want your life to be. Do you want 'things to possess' or do you want sunshine that will fill your soul but can never be possessed? Even when you've found your heart of gold never stop cherishing and renewing it, life fleets before our very eyes, slow it and make it last longer than you believe possible. Peace- mjb

I'll be 70 in a couple of weeks. I'm lucky to have been young in the 70s and early 80s. (I wouldn''t change a thing. I had my Camaro and Firebirds. I was too young for the '69 Charger, lol.)
Three legends in this song.. Neil and towards the end James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt. Great song
Yes correct and Neil Young stated that it was drummer Kenny Buttrey that made the recording extra special.
Still one of my all time favorites after 50 years
with you there.. what memories
My elder brother who lives in LA, has a Heart of Gold. All my favourite songs are from the 70s and 80s; our childhood. I love you, K.
Having a heart of gold in LA must be rough. It's full of toxic people.
My dad has an acoustic guitar and as far as I know, this is the only song he’s ever known how to play on it. He used to play it for me as a little kid and taught me the words. My relationship with my parents is rocky at this point, but this song will always have nice memories associated with it

Wow.. memories 😢
Attempt to fix it, you'll feel better. 💜🎵🎼🎶
Play this song for them build your relationship back.
They played this song at my uncles funeral I’ve loved it ever since.
This song takes me back to a time of a long lost love who was a heart of gold - oh how I miss her.
Sorry for your loss friend!🤍
I met Neil Young while he was touring as he lives in a cottage in a small town in Ontario, Canada. Legend!
My Dad. Willie Lee Gause had a true heart of gold
Rest In Peace
Your talks were pearls of wisdom
Thanks Dad
my dads heart was made of gold
Same with my dad I lost him in 2001.

My dad (he was my grandfather, but he raised me more than anyone else did) died two days ago. He and I used to listen to this song all the when I was a kid, and he’d always look at me and say “You know, you have a heart of gold.”
He was the one with a heart of gold.
He is likely watching over you.... love him but don't give up on life's joys
@@NancyFalvey I think he is as well. I’ll spend the rest of my life trying my best to make him proud.
My sister is gone. She had a heart of gold❤ I'll drink a beer with you. I feel broken too💔

beautiful
I’ve been to Hollywood, I’ve been to Redwood, I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold……beautiful lyrics
I'm 70 and I and my wife had never heard this song before and he did it in 1992, but we love this song, it's awesome, also like the video.
First heard this song when I was a young boy and thought the same thing. Im 24 now. Crazy how a song can impact so many generations

The song is great, but it's really unfortunate that it's associated with someone as morally corrupt as Kneel Young.
@@greenfinmusic5142 What about Neil Young is morally corrupt?

I remember listening to the song when I was a baby. I’m 413 now and the song is still my favorite one. GO NEIL!
My mom sang this to me when I was still a sperm. Really she was singing to all the sperms though
@@subg8858 nah man, she knew who she was singing to 👊
413 years is very impressive I'm certainly amazed by the shelf life on these beans
Are you a vampire?
Supongo que tienes 42 años . Yo escuchaba esta canción en los 70 cuando era súper joven tenía 17 años. Entonces había muchas canciones maravillosas
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.
I played this song while sailing on the hawks bury river in Aus during sunset and let me say it made me cry
My 14 month old granddaughter is dancing to this..
Love the fact like me she's going to love music that's older than I am.
Beautiful 😍 I'm getting to dance to this with my great grands now. Ain't we lucky?
In this album, i love the strength of the drums, the rythms, the harmonica, and the bottleneck parts sometimes that accompany the folk guitare and Neil Young's voice.
Rip to my brother. This song always makes me think of the memories we could have had
Hi caroline
How are you doing?
It's nice meeting you here!
Sorry to hear about your brother Caroline. All i can tell you is that we are not eternal in this life and one day you'll get to hug him and see him again one day... In the meantime stay strong and lift your head up and make your brother proud.....
@@BigBoss-lm6cf it means a lot. I listen to Neil everyday to get closer to him

One of the finest songs in the history of recorded music. James Taylor on banjo Linda Ronstadt on vocals with Melissa Ethridge what a lineup.
Truly one of the greatest song writers of all time. Love his music.
Written and sung by an incredibly talented musician.
I couldn't agree more man... So soothing,, and such a full sound. Listen near the end, you can hear Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor singing back up. A lot of talent going on in this song !
I’ve been listening this to this album since I was 15, I’m now 70
I cherish my wife Nicole and my son David with every fiber I am truly blessed
This was my great grandmas favorite artist. I cant listen to this without crying
The harmonica always reminds me of my dad. God I miss him
And with the melody 🎶 of this song I just feel him close by
I grew up with his music, ❤️🌹My brother actually has his kids knowing every word on all songs & they were born in 2004 & they live Neil Young!!!! His music is timeless!!!
😊 I guess I'm getting old with a heart ❤️ of gold. I was 13yrs old when I first listened to this song & now I am 64yrs old. 🙏 💞

I like everything Neil does . Music, videos , movies , anything ! Back in our day the music was great. Nothing compared to it . Neil, Bob Dylan , Moody Blues and many more got us through some hard times . We shared music and love . These are good memories. We love you Neil . You are our universe .

This song introduced me to Neil Young. Heard it on the radio and immediately went out to buy Harvest. I was not disappointed and then looked for anything he had recorded up until then. Highlight was to see him live at Hyde Park in 2009.
Best song!!
Just one of Neil’s greats. Timeless……
In my mother's womb, I discovered You. Thank you. My daughters listen too😊🎉❤
This album is obviously an all time classic but recently it has put my 3 month old asleep every single time. It's his voice and the harmonica I think. It has become my favourite album of all.
Aug 2024- I am here. Please continue to support CD and vinyls. Many Thanks
Love this song. I'm still searching but getting there as I get older.
One of my all-time favorite songs: EVER!!! So very meaningful and heartfelt truth.....Bravo, Neil Young. Rock on, Jesus! 😊❤

You're the best thing ever for seasonal depression. I love you. Merry Christmas.
This song is absolutely perfect.
That heart of gold!
god this song is hitting so hard with me right now. i recently got my heart broken (in a big way, in a lot of ways), and i'm still hurting. this song speaks to the part of me so desperate for a love that loves me the way i love them. i want to give my entire heart, body and soul to someone, but it seems that somehow isn't enough, or is too much. i just want to find the one, the one who gets it, and i so stupidly thought i did, but here i am again, without it, without them. despite the raw hurt i believe in true love still, i refuse to believe that humans have centuries of art about something that doesn't exist. it has to be out there, and i will wait everyday for it to come to me. true love is not a fantasy. i think this pain is the price we all must pay, everyone gets their heart broken sometimes, and that's all so we can find the one to take care of our heart as we deserve, it's out there, i'm waiting, i'm gonna get it.
cried reading this comment
these days this song makes me think Jesus, all these decades later.
Reading you was like reading a poem... "The price we all must pay".
The love you are seeking is in you. Once you realise that, love will find you
when I listen to this song today I think of Jesus and the best part about Jesus is He is love and He cannot break your heart. ❤️
One of my favorite albums of Neil’s, still have it he can sure play that harp, eh?,,,keep searching,,,♥️
Still looking! Thanks Neal for the GREAT LYRICS!!!!

Thank you NY...
after school,at a friends house..smoking some pot,and listening to this album...those were the days
I remember hearing this song leaving my hometown n moving to Phoenix to start a new life..now I'm lying n a beg suffering cancer n just my brother to care for me.
Back to early 1995 months, when I was starting to put attention to local radio stations and my attention to a beautiful young neighbour led me to my first simple and meaningful I love You
I wanna live... i wanna give...
I want to live
I want to give
I've been a miner
For a heart of gold
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean
For a heart of gold
I've been in my mind
It's such a fine line
That keeps me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
You keep me searching
And I'm growing old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
I've been a miner
For a heart of gold

If you've not been searching for a heart of gold all your life, stop, pause and think of how you want your life to be. Do you want 'things to possess' or do you want sunshine that will fill your soul but can never be possessed? Even when you've found your heart of gold never stop cherishing and renewing it, life fleets before our very eyes, slow it and make it last longer than you believe possible. Peace- mjb
Reminds me of my son who died of cancer 3 years ago of cancer, 31 years old. He loved music and taught himself to play the guitar. He had this song as his ringtone on his phone...miss him so much...
