Boooo! no reason to be killing these animals. We kill too much wildlife for sport. Clearly, you have resources to supply yourself with the best equipment. Understandably, if you/we had to to survive hunting and trapping meat would be a relatively seamless transition from going to the supermarket. Raise your own meat at home! let these wild creatures live their lives. I admire the skill . . . when necessary. But not as a sport.
So pay a bunch of money to raise meat at home or trap it organically for a fraction of the price AND it's a renewable resource 🤔. You better find a different place to preach because you make zero sense 🤷♂️
@@330Maniac Wouldn't be more profitable to go to animal shelters or pounds, "adopt" animals with a nice fur and skin those instead? Pretty much the same thing. You would earn way more and you could kill way more wich you obviously have a boner for. Or are you too chicken to do that?
You must have missed the part where I said beaver are organic meat. They feed off of roots and Is plants out in the wild. Don't think you'll find any animals in the shelter doing that. Besides who and heck would be cruel enough to eat Some pets from a shelter? Be normal go out and trap hundreds of them like I do every year. Maybe even thousands. And tens of thousands over my lifetime 🤣
It’s not just about trapping everything that moves it is about conservation and about checks and balances. If populations of any animal is left unchecked there will be an over population and then the problems will be even worse the damage from these animals will be much greater. If a population is left to grow uncontrolled there will also be less resources for the animals themselves to survive. People may not like trapping and hunting but it is a necessity because Mother Nature is a cruel Bi$&@
I've been trapping for 60 years in northern Michigan. You are to be commended for those beavers and especially those otters. Love your enthusiasm and great content. It never gets old checking those traps, does it? I still feel like a kid trapping. Congratulations
I hunt periodically but never trapped. I'm fascinated with the process of finding the runs and setting those traps without them snapping back and catching the trapper. Maybe someday my neighbor who used to trap will take me out and teach me more about it. We do have nuisance beaver in our lake that need to be thinned or eliminated for a year or two. He's told me beaver meat is delicious and worth getting. I would like the beaver pelt too. Make a blanket or mittens with it.
You cant be trap checks like that with a stick!!!! Congrats all the way across the board!!!! Best of luck on the next one, and God Bless all!!!!!👍🤗🙏🙏🙏🙏
I just got my first otter last month, what a great experience! I'm working on the next otter, but he's a bit more trap shy. Great video, I appreciate that you film all parts of the trapping experience, including the looking for runs part.
Awesome catches on the otters buddy!! That is definitely awesome to be able to catch a whole limit of otter at one place also!! I remember when I was first getting into trapping years and years ago and was beaver trapping and was looking at a place to trap that was by a bridge and I so happened to see like a big big swimming party going on!! I literally thought that a bunch of kids was swimming and playing around in the little Creek and I was looking way down the creek and I couldn’t see anything so I grabbed my binoculars off of the dash of the truck and glassed the creek and I had seen so many otters down there just swimming around just having a blast of a time!!! I thought that was so cool and just watching them on how they would play with one another!!! Very cool animals for sure!! Of course the season was out for otters at the time!!! Awesome video buddy and remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!!!
What happens if you catch an otter and you've filled your limit for the year. They are accidentally caught. Do you have to report the kill? What happens
Awesome! I have 2 330s out right now on my land in northern Maine. Usually I have a beaver or 2 by now but no sign or activity at all this year. I have a big lodge on either side of the logging road and no activity. Very strange. Thanks for the video!
Congrats on the otter man, that’s awesome! As always, great video, keep them coming. Are you setting runs the same for otter and beaver, just hoping for otter where there is fresh sign?
Nice job brother .. its been years sense I've got one. Am hoping this is going be season . I found a pretty epic spot. . Were only aloud 1 here in area in ohio. . . Keep the great videos coming buddy. And screw them tree huggers. If they only new what good we really do. . Keep the lines tight and traps full. ☺☺🤭🤗🤓🤓
Congrats on the otters. My boy and I been trapping for a few years now. Each year we target 10 and once we get 10 we're done. This year we're done early, today was our last check. Got one otter, but got seven the day before.
Great video. Nice big beaver, Otters, and Muskrat. I follow one of your Instagram accounts. Thanks. Good luck for the rest of the season. You should give us an update as to how many Beavers you've caught so far. Also, do you video tape when you sell your furs?
Fellow trapper I bet not around here you need land owners permission and have to carry it with you ,I never heard of a land owner giving more than one permission to trap or hunt. My guess is the guy lost his nerve and bailed out.
Here you only need permission if it's private land. We have tens of thousands of acres of public property here. Any body of water at all you can access legally you don't need permission. But like you said he was in plain view of the road and property left after.some vehicles drove by.
330 buddy it looks as if you have found a smart beaver that is also very wise of the traps also!! You no how I end up fixing smart beaver like that?? Well I might put out a few more 330 so that keeps that so smart beaver mind on the 330s and then I’ll put out usually anywhere from 2 to 6 depending on how big of an area it is and how many beaver I might be dealing with is how I deside how many good old foot holds!! Also depending on the situation I will either use some bait to try and get them to come in the area of the foot hold or I might just do some blind sets!! Usually when I have a smart beaver like you have had I would most likely do some blind sets to try and get them!! It works every time for me and then I always have to ask the beaver know who is the smart one buddy??? Oh you aren’t talking?? Well how come I can’t ever get an answer from them after catching them?? Lol!!! I absolutely love when I end up out smarting an animal!! It just makes me feel so much closer In how they actually think also!! Awesome video buddy and hopefully this will help you out in getting that smart beaver??? My guess is that they have had several people trying to catch them over and over the years and it definitely just makes them even more smart every time!!! I have been called to get some smart beaver out like you have felt with where someone came in and told the farmer hey I’ve caught all them except for one or two and they keep tearing my traps up and I can’t afford to loose any traps so I will need to pull out!! As the farmer keeps noticing beaver damage they somehow get ahold of me and I will only charge by each beaver I catch and size of the beavers is how I get paid to remove beavers!!! I also will tell them if they have any smart trap shy beavers that it’s best to let me no because that will definitely help in me to deside on how I set things up also!!! Awesome video buddy and remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!!!
