OMG. I drove that same route five or 6 years ago. Except everything was on fire. 1/2 mile visibility on forest fire smoke. With the sun up everything had an orange Martian glow. Too many great spots to stop and explore. I remember that flood plain on your right very well. The wife and I walked across to the mountain side in bare feet. Water was near freezing. It hurt like crazy. The crossing back was hilarious. Could feel anything from the knees down.
Thank you. This ride changed my life. There is more to each of us than the normal nine till five of working life and there is no better way to find it than on a bike. Happy riding Steve
A day and a half of steady riding. The icefields parkway is a spectacular ride. It was fast and I felt very safe. The traffic was very low for me. Cinematic views. Would do it again. Three days would be very comfortable. Happy riding 🤗

Hi Steve, I think I read somewhere that your spending money went for a walk in Banff, probably not something that you want to be reminded of but can you tell us so we can avoid it, thanks.
Hi Lee I had decided to take cash with me to avoid the cash machines. Don't know why I did this and it proved a big mistake. Like putting all your eggs in one basket! I kept the cash in a specific pocket in my rucksack and was diligent in keeping it with me at all times. I had just a little Canadian dollars and that was kept separate so there was no need for me to access the US dollars until crossing the border. The only time I left the bag was to take a shower at the hostel were it stayed under the bed in a communal room. I can only think it was then that someone made off with it. It was a very dark moment when I found the money missing. Disorientated and embarrassed I searched high and low but to no avail. I only hope that where ever it ended it did some good. I expected not to be able to start the race as you couldn't get far on a few Snicker bars but the TD community being what it is pulled together and gifted me enough funds to continue the dream of riding the Divide. Every day since I relive sections of the race and I remain humbled by the whole experience. So the lesson is take just a weeks worth of cash at most and split that so if it does go walkies you don't loose the whole lot. Steve

How many days did you take to do this section from Jasper to Banff? Trying to decide whether to start in Banff or Jasper! Awesome video

Hello, great video !! Is it the Adventure cycling map itinerary between Jasper to Banff? Whatntime of year was it?
It was early June and was a shake down ride prior to the 2019 Your Divide.
