To be honest. When I saw Toph at first I didn't even know she had vision problems. Yeah, I never watched the TV show but even the jokes about Toph's disability are written in a way that isn't made to mock her. The joke comes from the characters forgetting she's blind because of how capable she is

okay- since I'm autistic the fact that disabilities like autism, wheelchairs, prosthetics, etc are more prominent in media now than when I was younger makes me SO HAPPY. when I was a younger, I was basically taught that I wasn't normal, and that nobody with disabilities was normal, WHICH ISNT TRUE. It really holds up the fact that representation DOES MATTER.

One of my friends has speech impediment since birth. She always speaks with sheeshing sounds so it's sometimes hard to understand what she says but I always try to. She was bullied in her childhood for her voice + she has health problems + she was raised by strict parents (especially very nervous angry mother) in multiple children family, so it is very struggling for her. She even said me her voice condition will become worse in years. It's great to see that my friend isn't alone with her condition, even if it's fictional character.
I have autism and adhd! Which also gave me some social anxiety and dyscalculia And I have asthma! And extreme allergies like ACK- If that’s considered somewhat of a disability I mean? It affects my life?- It was nice to see people represented in many different ways!
I have autism, seizures, social anxiety and tourettes (tics). Whenever I feel anxious, nervous or upset, I usually calm it down by drawing on a white bored, on a drawing app on my phone or on my sketchbook. And sometimes, I forget to do things that I've been told and I have a hard time paying attention. It's really hard for me to do things like a normal person would do. There are times where some people don't understand that I'm born different and I'm not like the others while almost the rest of the people understand that I'm different.
autism (and i assume adhd) can cause social anxiety. autism definitely, as autism and anxiety is not a rare combination. i also have autism and social anxiety btw !

Wilt from Foster's home for imaginary friends is a first main character with disabilities in Cartoon Network series. He has no arm, he has lazy eye and he is traumatized(not PTSD)
Johngalli A. And N'Doul from Jojo are blind. Daiya Higashikata from the same series is nearly blind and Johnny Joestar uses a wheelchair. As for mental illnesses goes Jojo has a bit of everything since the series is know for how unique and bizarre the stories and characters are, thats its gimmick, for example Kira Yoshikage has a clear case of OCD, he writes down every detail about the growtg of his nails, has intrusive thoughts and compulsevily bites off his nails when stressed, Diavolo has DID, Rikiel has severe anxiety, Jodio was diagnosed as possibly having antisocial personality disorder, Mikitaka has mild prosopagnosia, high sensorial sensitivity and cant pick up on social cues as he is extremely literal
I think that Rikiel has another illnesses aside from anxiety but i think that's all disabled Jjba Characters. Also Weather Report if you want to count amnesia. Edit: Whoopss also if you want to count amnesia in another character, Gappy!
I suffer with ADHD, and seeing Jack in Bluey, just made my heart warm, even though I’m not really a jack Russell person. He immediately became my favorite character from Bluey, because I could often relate to him.

I'm glad that this video was useful to you! Many people are pissed about the inclusion of disorders but I will stand by the fact that they aren't a "different ability" for everyone!
Walter from The 2011 Muppet Movie feels very autistic coded to me! The way his love for the Muppets is so central to his life is very relatable to me personally. (Has anyone actually seen the 2011 Muppet Movie or am I the only one who's absolutely obsessed with it?-)
The Muppet Movie and the sequel are such cozy movies, I'm so glad other people remember it 😭 also I agree with you about Walter. Being a Muppet born into a human family is a pretty blatant metaphor for being "different" imo.
I love that movie! I have seen it so many times and I agree that Walter could be autistic-coded. His love for the Muppets could be his "narrowed" interest. Funny how Jim Parsons plays his real-life equivalent in the musical number who is also speculated to be playing an autistic-coded character?! (Sheldon) I LOVE Muppets Most Wanted

0:54 here’s a fun fact about Porky: his voice actor actually does have a speech impediment.
Yeah his actor appearently couldn't stop it (because duh ofc you can't) so they just left it in and made it part of the character
@@Anon_y_mouse_the_onlynice
He has more than 5 voice actors you know, Mel Blanc(the iconic voice of Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester, etc) included. Are you referring to his very first or second voice actor or the modern voice actors?
@@ibrahimihsan2090 I might’ve referred to the 1st one (Joe Dougherty), cuz that’s how porky also has a speech impediment.
@@morriStock Yeah, I looked it up a bit. Because Cougherty couldn't fully control his stuttering, his second voice actor would voice the additional lines.
But by 1939, Porky was voiced by Mel Blanc until around 1989.

okay- since I'm autistic the fact that disabilities like autism, wheelchairs, prosthetics, etc are more prominent in media now than when I was younger makes me SO HAPPY. when I was a younger, I was basically taught that I wasn't normal, and that nobody with disabilities was normal, WHICH ISNT TRUE. I'm really glad you included stuttering!! I feel like far too often stuttering gets overlooked as a disability
Autism.. ADHD... Anxiety... Asthma.. Animation... How many A's do you have in your life?????
I have asthma it can be a pain Somtimes :(
I have autism, seizures, social anxiety and tourettes (tics).

Also Weather Report if you want to count amnesia.

i really appreciate this video as a person with several disabilities/ disorders and just some mental stuff in general. i like how autism and adhd are recognized as disabilities too cos so many people dont acknowledge that they arent just disorders and it pretty much just depends on the person. do you know any characters with stuff like ocd or stuff that affects memory cos i want characters to relate to more lol
